Hey, what's going on everybody? My name is Dallas Pruitt. This is the Daily Drip here on the Growthcast. And on today's episode, I wanted to talk about the specific formula that your thoughts produce, your feelings, and your feelings, produce your actions. Today I wanted to actually lean on the Maui Habit.
This is a specific habit that was designed by BJ Fogg. It comes from his book, Tiny Habits, and if you're looking for a great resource, an additional book to add to the queue, this would be a great. It emphasizes specific systems that will help you change your own behavior. And in his book, he shares the following regarding a very simple practice, again, that I would like to share with everybody today.
That helps people understand the single most important skill in behavior change. And that is, Feeling successful. Essentially what it is you wake up the Maui Habit. You wake up in the morning and the second you rise outta your bed, you take the time to say to yourself out loud, it's going to be a great day.
Then you take time to smile, which actually wires the habit into your brain, and you just sit there for an additional two or three seconds and let it sink in. In his book Fogg. Think of the Maui Habit as a simple practice. You do each morning in about three seconds. This will show you how easy it is to get started, and it will help you learn the single most important skill in behavior change.
Again, feeling successful thoughts, produce feelings, and those feelings fuel. Our actions, BJ, hit this spot on with the Maui Habit, and it's such a simple, easy practice that anybody can integrate into their day, and it will help you to build a path for a better future. Because again, one of the most essential pieces to continually changing our own behavior is feeling is that.
Feeling of success. I'll leave you with this today. This is an additional note from BJ's book, tiny Habits that ties all of this in perfectly. It says, in order to design successful habits and change your behaviors, you should do three things. One, stop judging yourself. Two, take your aspirations and break them down into tiny behaviors.
And then three, embrace mistakes as discoveries and use them to move forward. There's so many nuggets in this book, Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg. The Maui Habit is only one of them, and my invite today is to integrate this specific, simple, easy, and powerful habit into your day to day so that you can feel. That most important piece to behavior change, and that is that feeling of success.
Start your day off right and build on that momentum throughout the remainder of each day by implementing and integrating this simple, powerful habit into your day. Create a variation if you'd like. Whatever works for you, the timing of it, whatever. Whatever you need to adapt, but deliver on the principle of.
Feeling successful right at the gate. Have a great day, everybody, and we'll see you guys back here again next time.
