This is Dallas Pruit and welcome to the Multifamily Mindset Growth. Success is the product of daily habits. The key is to think bigger and increase growth in everything you do. Growth happens daily and weekly, right? Not just monthly or quarterly. Too many people are blind to the fact that life is happening for them, not to them.
When you focus. Fear and scarcity. You are by default limiting your potential. You should write that down seriously. You should write that down, achieve your potential, and live a rich full life. We've all heard that it takes money to make money That's fault. It takes value to make money.
What's going on everybody? Recently I was listening to the Jordan B. Peterson podcast, and on this particular episode, he was discussing negotiation of all things with Chris Vos. Chris is a former FBI agent, hostage, negotiator, and author of the book, Never Split the Difference. Many of our students, many of our colleagues are actually reading this book right now, and it was so awesome to see their discussion.
Jordan's and Chris's hit a chord with me, particularly the time they spent talking about the benefits of genuine curiosity. That is exactly why I would like to focus or what I would like to focus on with today's Drip, the fit, the benefits of curiosity. Curiosity killed the cap, but the lack there.
Might kill your progress and overall growth. Yeah. I'm laying claim to that quote. Listen to this. Curiosity has been studied and proven to bring a number of benefits to both children and adults alike. Cur curiosity helps us survive. Curiosity increases happiness, curiosity increases achievement. Curiosity expands our empathy.
Curiosity strengthens relationships and cur curiosity strengthens our ability to take better. Care of one another. When we are curious, genuinely curious, we weed out judgment. This is a powerful mental skill for cultivating better relationships with people, building trust, and ultimately becoming a better overall person.
Those who lack curiosity become blinded by their own self bias, opinions and ways of doing things, and as a result, miss the boat when a great idea and a high-level solution comes into port. Lack of curiosity hurts people in the short term. and the long term. So, if curiosity is such a beneficial tool for growth, how does one cultivate curiosity after some lengthy research?
Here are a number of things I came up with, and these tactics are the basis of what I would like to share with all of you today. One, embrace uncertainty. Get uncomfortable with your uncertainty. Don't shy away from it when given the opportunity. Be grateful that you hold misconceptions. We all. Those misconceptions, they are actually opportunities to learn.
Two, recognize your information gaps and seek to fill them. Sometimes it is okay to go down a rabbit hole of a specific topic that interests you and then follow what fascinates you. Three, slow down. This looks like exploring ideas via journaling. It looks like focused breathing exercises. It looks like going for a walk and clearing your mind of focused.
Extremely focused thought on the things you know and shifting that thought to random things that really intrigue you for schedule time, for reading fiction or non-fiction, it really doesn't matter. The focus here is on expanding your horizons and inspiring an even more heightened sense of c.
Five. Listen more than you speak. Oh man. I cannot reiterate the importance of this one. Make an effort to listen more than you speak. Treat your friends, your coworkers, your husbands and wives, like teachers you can learn from. If you ask the right questions and listen carefully, you will find. The wealth of experience and knowledge that people have is astounding if you are able to just listen carefully.
Even people you've known for years have layers you haven't seen. Try asking people more questions in every conversation you have. Everyone has stories and pieces of wisdom to offer. Again, this list is a. Powerful list of things that we can all do to cultivate more curiosity, which will ultimately increase our growth and betterment in our lives.
Curiosity, think of it as a mental skill. It is a mental skill, and it's required for reaching your highest potential. Curious people, succeed, curious people are lifelong learners. Turn curiosity into a habit and you'll be able to reap emotional rewards. We just shared five things that you can do to create the habit, and these will produce fulfilling, re more fulfilling relationships.
These things will Increase your desire to create and ultimately learn things. You will learn things that you would've never stumbled on before. Feed curiosity with the things we shared today, guys, and you will ultimately feed growth. I hope you were able to pull something of value from today's Drip.
Whatever that something was today implemented and go gain some new experiences. Have a great rest of the week. We'll see you guys next time.
