Hey, what's going on everybody? Hope you're having, hope you're having a wonderful day thus far, and that today finds you in good spirits. My name is Dallas Pruitt. This is the Daily Drip here on the Growthcast , and let's dive into today's episode. We don't need accomplishments to feel good or to be good enough.

What do we need then? Well, the truth. There's this excerpt that I wanted to share from the book, discipline as Destiny, and it goes like this, some food and water work that we can challenge ourselves with a calm mind in the midst of adversity. Sleep, a solid, routine, a cause we are committed to something we're getting better at.

Everything else on top of that is extra or worse, as history has shown countless times the source of our painful downfall. Today's invite is a different one. Today's invite is to temper your ambition. Look, so many, so many out there are plagued by ambition, and it's interesting because ambition is such a good thing, right?

We need to strive to do more and be better and work on our missions. , right. And have a cause and attach meaning and purpose to everything we do, right? We need to work hard, and we need to go to bed tired. But in that same breath, we must remember that ambitions can blind us. Ambitions can become extremely prog problematic if they are not tempered.

And I love the way that Ryan Holliday, the author of Discipline, is Destiny, worded this, and I'll repeat it as we close out here because it is today's invite to remember that the truth is you do not need. Yes, accomplishments are great, and it is what we are working towards, but the work, the routine, the cause, the mission, those things are much more important, and feeding those things on a regular basis will increase accomplishments.

You don't need accomplish accomplishments to feel good or to be good enough. The truth is you don't need much, as he said, some food and water, work that we can challenge ourselves with a calm mind in the midst of adversity. Sleep a solid routine, a. You are committed to something, you're getting better at.

Everything else on top of that is extra. And that is today's loud reminder, right? Growth is strategic. It happens by design, not by luck. And if we aren't careful, our ambitions can blind us. Temper your ambition, right? Temper your ambition and understand that everything you need lies within that breakdown a cause.

Right, your health, something you're striving to get better at, and yes, accomplishments are great. We must set marks and aims, but we cannot allow our ambitions to blind us. That is today's invite. Make it a great day, everybody. Enjoy your journey. Take notice of the things that are happening for you. Thanks for joining us as always, and we'll see you back here again on the Growth Cast tomorrow.
