Hey, what up guys? And welcome to the daily drip here on the Growthcast with me, Dallas Pruitt, as many of you know, I'm a fan of stoicism. And what this means is, I study it. I strive to apply the principles that the ancient stoic philosophers lived by stoicism and growth mindset... They really are two peas in a pod for me.
So, with this in mind today, I decided to lean on the help of Seneca. Seneca wrote and taught a lot about purpose and being intentional, meaning it's what drives the most impactful, leaders, and people in any space in life as a whole one's ability to attach, meaning, to suffering as well as set intentions, set their intentions, not.
just at the beginning of a year or even the quarter, but literally every day for today's reminder, what I wanted to do is share some words from Seneca. He says, let all your efforts be directed to something. Let it keep that end in view. It's not activity that disturbs people, but false conceptions of things that drive them mad.
Today's invite is to not skip the step of clarifying your intentions. At the beginning of every day, your efforts have to have aim. Covey, the author Stephen Covey, the author of Seven Habits of Highly Effective People, put it this way: Begin with the end in mind. It's one of his seven habits that is today's invite don't.
Just begin the quarter or begin the year with the end in mind, break it down further. Begin your day, with the end of that day, in mind as one piece to that hole. Set your intention before setting off to work. The chisel that is strategically directed is the one that creates the masterpiece. Not the one that just hacks away when your intentions are set properly.
Work and effort are purposeful. It doesn't become a means to an end. It becomes the means to which you live, thrive and create an impact in your life. Take the directive from people like Seneca, like Covey and myself. Clarify your intentions regularly. Anchor your actions in purpose. Let all your efforts be directed to something.
We'll see you guys back here again tomorrow.
