Hey, what's up everyone? Good morning and welcome to the Daily Drip here on the Growthcast with me, Dallas Pruit, the most important person you speak to every single day. That is you, yourself. We refer to this ongoing conversation as...TMIC , an acronym we use for that represents the most important convers.
Here is something for you to add to your arsenal for Tim when it comes to mastering it, and that is to challenge your negative thoughts. We all have 'em, and that is today's actionable is to get better at all of us collectively challenging whatever those negative thoughts are as they creep in. . It's so easy to fall into the traps that create downward spirals in our heads.
That person doesn't like me or, oh man, I really screwed that one up. Or, I'm never going to figure this thing out. Distortion after distortion, negative thoughts have a way of getting the best of us and bringing out the worst negative thoughts. Impact. Belief. They impact effort. They impact perspective.
They impact everything. They're also hard to not give into. A big reason why it's so hard to not give into negative thoughts is because many people aren't willing to challenge them, and that is precisely the skillset you must acquire, practice, and give power to regularly if you wanna be at your best.
Remember, your thoughts aren't facts. In fact, most of the time they really are just distortions caused by that internal critic stress or situational demand. So the next time you have a negative thought, think of a different thought. Think of a thought that challenges the negativity and the pessimism.
Nothing unrealistic, but something very realistic. Think of this alternative, realistic thought, and then simply, Replace the negative thought. For example, replace, oh man, I really screwed that one up with something like, what did I learn from that experience and how is it going to be beneficial for the big picture of what we are trying to accomplish?
What can I do now to change that? Catch yourself. Catch yourself before the downward spiral. Don't give power to distortions. Give power to reality. There is a lot within your control. Negativity is a choice. Neutrality belief, real optimism, hope those are also choices. Thanks for joining us. As always, everybody, have a great day and we'll see you guys back here again tomorrow.
