Hey, what's going on everybody? My name is Dallas Pruit and welcome to the Daily Drip here on the Growthcast . Let's talk Winning today. Look, it's okay to want to win in sports and business in life. In fact, you should strive to win. And in all of these things, at all of these capacities, there are winners and there are participants.
Losers losing, right? Winning and losing. It is a part of. Life. It is a part of anything you choose to do. If you were to ask a wide group of winners in any field, like business or sports, what those people would tell you is that it is much more satisfying to win. There is no getting around it. Winning is a process, and winning is a part of growth.
You don't. Win at your goals or at life by simply just showing up and participating. If you were to listen to the media, what they'd tell you is that these winners, they in their respective fields, they're talented. In other words, they are successful. They tell you the story that these people are gifted in some special way and that they are different.
Today on the drip, what I'd like to reiterate is an absolute truth. Although talent is a gift, it is also acquired or can be acquire., but it does not mean that winning is automatic. Just because you have, just because you have a talent doesn't mean winning doesn't come at a price. Winning requires long-term commitment and ongoing work and winning is for everyone.
We are all born with seeds of winning in each of us. The primary thing that sets winners apart from the participants is the way they think. Winners work with conviction. They work with their eyes, with their hearts and their minds fixated on the right types of outcomes for them. There is no other long-term option than victory Participants hope, meaning they hope to finish first.
They hope to. Hope is a catalyst for courageous action. Let's not get this thing twisted today. Hope is all good and no bad. It's a part of winning, but you can't just stay in the hope space. Today's reminder is if you want to win at what it is you've set out to accomplish, you must act and think like a winner ongoing.
Now, just because you expect to win doesn't mean you will always win. What I am sharing today is if it is not like you to win, you have zero chance of winning it all. Adopt the mindset of I expect to perform well in the long term. Victory is automatically an option. For people who think this way. For winners, yes, you must attach the work to that expectation, but this must be the default mindset I expect to perform.
Well, whatever you are trying to accomplish, whatever actions you are engaging in daily to get there, make sure you are in harmony with the idea that your expectation and your performance are equal. Here's the thing about this right now, they might not be, and that's okay. That's okay because what will raise your performance?
and your ability to perform out there in the real world, right, is the expectation. Where it will start is the expectation you hold yourself to. You must hold a high expectation and then allow that expectation to aid you in cultivating better practices, better processes, winning processes, this type of approach.
It takes time. Most importantly, it works. So, take the invite to heart and commit to, or recommit to today this notion of a winner's mentality, right? This principle, this mindset. Don't just be a participant. Be in it to win it. Be in your goals to win at them. Hope is all good, but winners don't just. To win.
They expect to win and then they act accordingly. Have a great day, everybody. Hopefully you're able to grab something of high value today as you go about cultivating the right mindset, the right processes, the right systems. Into your day today so you can go out and become the best version of you and achieve your goals.
Have a great one, and we'll see you guys back here again tomorrow.
