¶ Conclusion and Announcement of Season Two
Hey guys , justin , here , as you can tell by now , I made a counting error and yesterday is not the last episode . Today's episode is , which is awesome because it gives me another opportunity to thank all the guys for moving with us throughout season one as we go through the book of Romans .
It's been a lot of fun and we appreciate all you guys' kind words and feedback and , honestly , the journey's just been good for me and Jonathan as well . So , with that said , we are intending to do a season two .

We've been at this thing for a number of months and when we first sat down and do this , it's like well , can we actually make it ? Can we actually do it ? Here we are and yeah , here we are at the last episode . So thank you guys for moving with us over the last couple of months .

Now I love I gotta be honest I love the way this book ends .
Yeah , it's cool , cause it ends the way it started . And it ends the way that he was been doing it the whole time . It's just like this one consistent theme that goes throughout the entire thing . It's kind of like the movie Inception , where after you see it you're like what ?
But then if you watch it again , it's like oh , it's there the whole time , or another one that's like that Christopher Nolan prestige oh yeah , yeah , where all the elements are there , even just in the title sequence like you see the whole movie there and it's like this beautiful arc that just covers the entire thing .

Thing right For you . What was the thing ? And when you read this last chunk here , that you're , that's the one .
Several things . Obedience of faith .
Yes , that's the one for me . Okay , no , but that's cool , I'm in agreement . Go for it . Obedience comes back .
And then , of course , to be strengthened , according to gospel right again right , this mystery that has been revealed for the nations right , that it's the secret but has now been disclosed through prophetic writing .
So all nations , that's Gentiles , right , cause this is , I'm not ashamed of the gospel , first of the Judeans , gentiles , I mean , it's all there , right , and it's through Jesus Christ , apart from the law through faith . So he just , the whole thing is summarized right there .
It's like Paul . Why did you take 16 chapters to write what you wrote in three verses by way of reminder Justin because I went .
I mean they have the gospel priests to them and still , every once in a while , they needed a 16 chapter reminder .
You know why ?
Because we receive the gospel and we live gospel , but every once in a while we let life speak louder than truth .
That's that's real .
That's real .
That that need for a reminder is something that I'm having to learn to be OK with more and more . It's like sometimes we just want to hear new stuff , we want to be like oh , come on , tickle my ears just a little bit .
They're a preacher boy , it's like you want something that's going to make you excited , but sometimes the most exciting thing is that what you've already been established in Right the author of Hebrews , which many suspect was Paul .
All right , ok , let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering , for he who has promised is faithful , and let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works , not neglecting to meet together , as is the habit of some , but encouraging one another , and all the more as you see the day drawing near . Hebrews 10 , 10 , 24 and 25 .
So , yeah , let's meet together and keep telling the same story , because in telling that story there is a lot of encouragement , there is a lot of life , there's a lot of stirring up to good works , to loving one another . We have had an experience with that just last night .
Yeah , have you ever wondered how long this remains exciting , like , have you thought about that ? Like , on a meta level , it's like , man , this gospel stuff is good . I mean cool and I'm like I see , like some of the more seasoned folks in their church , I put the roof on that building like actually , like literally built the church .
Yeah , yeah , yeah , I've been here for 50 years .
Well , last night , a love reality tour which we're here in , and you see our T shirt is the love , love reality .

But last night we did something that we don't do too often , but just felt like the spirit was moving in this way that we didn't have a sermon . Yeah , you know , one actually preached .
No , we had a prayer testimony time when I went around the room . Hey , is it prayer requests ? We pray for each other . Thanksgiving .
We put hands on each other and there was a sweet spirit in the room . And then we read Matthew 26 , 27 and 28 , corporately together .
And for those of you who don't have chapters memorized , that's the story of the betrayal , betrayal , crucifixion and , ultimately , the resurrection of Jesus Christ Right .
So it's Passover , it's the Last Supper , it's the betrayal , it's the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus .
And when we're saying , quite literally , we read the story , quite literally , we read the story .
Oh no , we read chapters 26 , 27 and 28 consecutively , and then that was the service , and when Matthew finishes , says go ye , therefore , and low out with you always , even unto the end of the age , we said Amen , have a good night . What was ?
amazing about that experience was that people were moved . In fact , again no disrespect to you , Again , no disrespect to you they were moved more last night during the reading of the text than when you preached .
Let me do something for you . Go for it . No need to say no disrespect to me . You don't have to qualify this is the thing that's right .
That's the thing that's amazing .
Who's going to proclaim the gospel more clearly than the spirit of God in the words that he selected right , yeah , there is no disrespect , so that when we meet together over and over , we are strengthening according to gospel when we preach Jesus Christ right . And here's something I really like that Paul did , and that is my gospel .
Yeah yeah , it's not just God's gospel or the gospel of Jesus , but it's personalized .
It's my localized .
Right , it's my good news and I think there's there's a handful of different ways that that could be done and it's it's my gospel , in the sense that , hey , this thing I have received and I've internalized and it's mine .
Yeah .
But then I think another sense is that you know what God is , not just like his gospel and he's just there . It is Take it or leave it yeah , but that he works through human instruments .
Yeah , yeah , yeah , because now you're the , the Sentinel , you're the steward , now You're the one that's supposed to leave the estate of the master and go out into the nations and preach the good news . Who's good news ? Well , it's of the kingdom .
Yeah , it's the good news , that's all the way over there off in the distance . That's magnifying and glorified , but it's the good news for you , it's for you , because it's for me .
Why ? Because that kingdom all the way over there is actually in your heart Right and it's spilling over , and when we gather together and we spill good kingdom into one another , we are encouraged , we are lifted up and life takes place .
And it's amazing . It's that experience of sharing and community and loving each other like that is literally the kingdom experience . That is what we were designed for . That is the thing that we enter into in its fullness when we receive glory .
Yeah , yeah , yeah , yeah , and , and I just I love that all of this is in this doxology and that it all wraps around the preaching of Jesus Christ .
According to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages but has now been disclosed through prophetic writings , has been made known to all nations in this line According to the command of the eternal God to bring about the obedience of faith , so that God's eternal command , his eternal decree , was to include the nations in the inheritance that
was there's from the foundation of the world .
That's right .
It's not what Paul talks about , any feelings one .
Oh right , Is there one in Hebrews 13 ?
Sure , it's that I'm thinking . Blessed be the God and father .
Oh Lord , jesus Christ , who has blessed . I'm talking about the foundation from the world .
Yeah , yeah , well he predestined us before the foundation of the world . Right , yeah , ephesians , one , right . And then Are you thinking Hebrews 2 or where he is in these ?
Are you from the foundation ? Oh ?
revelation 13 8 .
Oh revelation .
I got the numbers , I booked around , yeah , yeah no old-school exercises from back in the day yeah no , but it's all there Right . It's all there right , and this obedience of faith is ours now . The gospel is ours now . We can go out and live kingdom amongst this world tomorrow .
No .
Now the blessing of Abraham is ours . Now we are free from sin .
Now , that's the crazy one , right Now we have been grafted in .
Now we have participation with Jesus Christ because we're in Adam to now .
Good gospel right . I don't get the sense that that ever gets old yeah .
Never gets old ? I don't think it .
That's the thing that we get to to learn about . There's one of my favorite writer sucks , but that's that we get to study the themes of salvation . I wouldn't have it for all .
The turn is yeah for all attorney .
That's amazing right .
The science of salvation Well .
