Episode description

A Better Balance Co-Founder and Co-President Dina Bakst talks about her work to help women and men across the economic spectrum care for their loved ones without risking their jobs.  We talk about New York’s employee-funded paid family leave law that provides most non-government workers with job-protected, paid leave to care for a new child or a loved one with a serious health condition. We also talk about the 25th Anniversary of the Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the potential for a nationwide paid family leave program.

Whit and Tricia Honea join at the end of the show to talk about the challenges they faced with no access to paid leave after the birth of their sons.
