Genesis 17:1-22 – The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 3)

Genesis 17:1-22 – The Abrahamic Covenant (Part 3) is about God as He affirms His everlasting covenant with Abraham after 13 years of silence. Abraham was 99 years old when God confirms that he will have a son named Isaac and all that God promised will come true. God even provides a unique sign of the covenant, which symbolizes death to the flesh and life in the coming Messiah! 3) PERSONAL BLESSING AND GREATNESS (Abram / Jews)

4) DIVINE PROTECTION (Against Anti-Semitism)

5) DIVINE BLESSING UPON ALL NATIONS (Jesus)

The Abrahamic Covenant is an UNCONDITIONAL COVENANT

WALK BEFORE ME AND BE BLAMELESS 

God Reaffirms HIS COVENANT with Abraham

God Reaffirms the Pillars of His Covenant:

1. God provides. Abram receives.

2. The Entire Land of Canaan (Israel)

3. An Everlasting Covenant

 

CIRCUMCISION – an Outward Sign of the Covenant

We all walk with God BY FAITH

God is making Abram into SOMETHING SIGNIFICANT
