Genesis 11 – The Tower of Babel

Genesis 11 – The Tower of Babel reveals that the sinful nature of man was not removed after the flood.  We know that the ancient Babylonians were not a barbaric society, in fact they were quite advanced in many areas of science and agriculture and they were able to advance quite rapidly because the world had only one language.  Genesis 11 – The Tower of Babel is man’s first attempt at a one world government.  It is also the beginning of the false religions.  It was sinful, corrupt and it’s leader “Nimrod” rebelled against God.   What was the purpose of the Tower of Babel?   Nimrod – King of Babel – Genesis 10   Ancient Jewish Targum says: “He (Nimrod) was powerful in hunting and in wickedness before the Lord, for he was a hunter of the sons of men, and he said to them, “Depart from the judgment of the Lord, and adhere to the judgment of Nimrod!” Therefore it is said: “As Nimrod the strong one, strong in hunting, and in wickedness before the Lord.”   TOWER OF BABEL – LET US MAKE A NAME FOR OURSELVES       GOD SCATTERED THE NATIONS TO PROTECT HUMANITY     THERE IS ONLY ONE RACE     He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their pre-appointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.
