Our hero of the week is David. David was a young shepherd boy that amazed the world by killing Israel's greatest enemy, Goliath. The secret to David's success was his knowledge of who lived on the inside of him.
when facing the giant david said you come to me using a sword and a spear but i come to you in the name of the lord of heaven's armies with god's help David defeated the enemy. It was through David's courage and passionate love for God that he was crowned king of Israel. To this day, David is still considered the king of Israel. David was a mighty man of God.
There are lots of things in this world that seem scary, but God gave us a promise. Do you know what that promise is? The Bible says in Deuteronomy 31.6, be strong and brave. Don't be afraid of them. Don't be frightened. Let me just read it again. I think you missed it. Pay attention.
It says, don't be afraid of them. Don't be frightened. The Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. That's not that version, but I just put it in there. And it says here, he will not leave you or forget you. Parents. This is the ICB version, okay? It stands for International Children's Bible.
Okay, so got to look that up. It's amazing. So it says he will never leave you. Another translation says or forsake you, but no one uses that word. He will never forget about you. So God said he would never leave you or forget about you. It doesn't matter what. What you're facing, God is there. You may not see him, but he's there. You may not feel him, but he's still there.
Tell that fear to get lost. Tell those feelings that are making you shake to go back to hell where they came from because God wants you strong and he wants you brave. He made you as brave as a lion. Have you ever seen...
A lion running away from a dog? No. Of course not because that's how he wants you to be he wants you to be brave like the lion You are brave like the lion see God is so much bigger than anything that makes you afraid He's stronger than the most strongest person you could ever think of he's your protector there's a whole chapter in the Bible that talks about God
Let's read it. It's in Psalm 91. Okay, this is literally an entire chapter, 16 verses, where God is letting you know how you are safe in His arms. You're protected. You don't ever have to be afraid. Psalm 91. Let's go. Those who go to God most high for safety will be protected. You see that? God is your safety and your protection. You are my God and I trust in you. Verse 3.
God will save you from hidden traps and from deadly diseases. He will protect you like a bird spreading its wings over its young. His truth will be like your armor and shield. You will not fear. You will not fear any dangers by night or an arrow by the day. Now, just so you know, you will not fear those three times. That was emphasis was my. Verse six, you will not be afraid of diseases that come in the dark or sickness.
At your side, a thousand people may die or even 10,000 right beside you, but you will not be hurt. You will only watch what happens. You will see the wicked punished. The Lord is your protector. Say that with me. The Lord is my protector. You have made God most high, your place of safety. Nothing bad will happen to you. No disaster will come to your home. He has put his angels in charge of you. Say what? Also, that's not... part of that scripture. I'm just saying, you should be excited.
God has you so protected. He sent angels to be in charge of you, to encamp around about wherever you go. They will watch over you wherever you go. Verse 12, they will catch you with their hand. and you will not hit your foot on a rock. You will walk on lions and cobras. You will step on strong lions and snakes. The Lord says, if someone loves me, I will save him. I will protect those who know me. They will call to me and I will answer them. I will be with them.
I will rescue them and honor them. I will give them a long, full life. They will see how I can save. Say that with me. I have a long, full life. ahead of me see that's for you god wants you to know that you're protected there's nothing to be afraid of there's nothing to be fearful of god is bigger than anything you're facing
Pray this with me. Say, Heavenly Father, I thank you for your presence in my life. Thank you that you never leave me or forget about me. Thank you for being my protector, the one I run to when I'm afraid. I give you all my fears and in return, give me your strength. Make me brave. I choose today to live by your rules. I will obey your word. I won't fear. I will be strong and brave in Jesus' name.
Think about it. What are the things that make you afraid? Find three scriptures, at least three scriptures in the Word of God that deal with fear or whatever it is that you're going through. Write them down and read them to yourself. And if you can't read, have some. And when you have the word of God on the inside of you, it helps you constantly
It helps you fight those fears because the word of God is what's going to get you out of that state of fear of always being afraid to do something. The word of God gives you boldness. It infuses you with courage. you have to read it every single day. And if you can't do it, ask your parents to help you find them or whoever it is that's in charge of you. Ask an adult to help you find the scriptures about fear. And when those thoughts of fear come up, you read them again.
And you read them again. And you remind that fear who's in charge. You're in charge. You're a child of God. He loves you so much. And he's given you the power to hit that fear right in the face. So do it. Remember, it's the devil that would want. you to run away and hide and be timid and afraid, but God is the one who wants you to be strong and courageous. So do it.
The ABCs of salvation. Have you ever asked Jesus into your heart? Jesus said in John 14, 6, I am the way and I am the truth and the life. The only way to the Father is through me. If you want to live a life of love, joy, and peace, You need Jesus. How do you accept Jesus into your heart? Thanks for asking. It's easy. It's as easy as A, B, C, A. Admit that you need Jesus in your life. The Bible says in Romans 3.23, all people have sinned and aren't good enough for God's glory.
Sin is the thing that blocks God from our lives. That's why God sent his son Jesus to forgive us of all the bad things that we've done. B, believe that Jesus is God's son. sent to this earth to die on the cross for your sins, your healing, and your success. See, confess. Confess Jesus as your savior. The Bible says in Romans 10, nine, that if you declare with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and if you believe in your heart that God raised Jesus from the dead, then you will be saved.
It's so simple. So just pray this after me. Say, Heavenly Father, forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart. Wash me clean. Today. I make you my Savior, my Lord, and my friend. I am forgiven. I am a child of God. I am mighty through Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, amen. It's so simple. Pray this after me. Say, Heavenly Father, and really, really mean it. I want to hear you. I want to really, really hear you. So, okay, go. Heavenly Father.
Forgive me of all my sins. Come into my heart and wash me clean. Today, I make you my Savior, my Lord, and my friend. I am forgiven I am a child of God I am mighty through Jesus Christ in Jesus name Amen. That's it. That was so simple. Welcome to the family of God.
