Welcome to the party, pal. The Michael Duke Show. The greed and the entitlement. is astounding to me. What more could you want from a low budget radio program? This is a dumpster fire. That was just BS. It is time to get a new perspective. We know just what you need, and we've got just the cure. Open wide and prepare for a steaming hot cup of freedom. I just don't fathom it.

The Michael Dukes Show, streaming live across the world. And it's live around the world on the internet at michaeldukeshow.com and across the state of Alaska on this, your favorite radio station and or FM translator. Hello. my friends good morning welcome to thursday how did we get to thursday so quickly i mean like wow i mean it's just like boom and here it is and here and here's thursday

Oh, man, it's been a crazy, and we're already halfway through January. Today is officially the other side of the halfway mark for January. And it's kind of cuckoo. Cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs out here. Welcome to the program for this Thursday edition. We got something a bit different here. We're waiting right now for our guest to join us. In just a few moments or so, Rod Pyle will be coming on board here in just a minute. It's been quite a while since we talked to...

Since we talked to Rod, he is an author, a speaker, a lecturer. He's a consultant, a technical consultant. He's worked for JPL and NASA. He's worked with different movie companies on movies about space. And and and other things. And it's he he's got quite a he's got quite a repertoire repertoire of of.

uh, you know, under his belt. And he's going to be talking with us about, uh, space, uh, space, the space race. Um, what's, uh, what's happening in the, uh, What's happening in the local, you know, or in the national scene for different missions, whether it's missions to the moon or the mission to Mars. Um, and, uh, so it's, uh, it's, it's gonna, it should be a good, uh, a good call. I used to have Rod on all the time.

uh, on my program. Oh, I don't know, five, six years ago. And then we both got busy doing different things. And, and, uh, so it's been, it's been, it's been a hot minute since we've had a conversation. But I am and always have been, ever since I was a kid, fascinated with the space race and the idea of space exploration and all the things. For example, watching Elon Musk just absolutely transform the space, not to be too punny, but to transform the whole industry, the space industry.

Has been an amazing. uh, an amazing journey for me personally to watch that. And, uh, Rod has been, um, uh, he's, he's been, he's been hip deep and watching all this stuff. He hosts a podcast with Tariq Malik. who is the editor-in-chief of Space.com, which if you're kind of a space nerd and you don't follow Space.com, they always have some great stories up there about some of the latest things that are going on.

He's also the author of a bunch of different stuff, including books First to the Moon, Blueprints for a Battlestar, the Curiosity Rover, the Missions on the Moon. Golden Age, Stories from the Golden Age of Space Exploration. He's got a bunch of stuff. You should go check it out. Go check it out. You can find him at PyleBooks.com, P-Y-L-E, PyleBooks.com, Rod Pyle. He'll be joining us here, well, I'm hoping here in a minute. He should be here at about, he should be here pretty quick today.

Um, speaking of, uh, speaking of a space news, and these are a couple of things that I've been wanting to talk about, uh, with Rod, Jeff Bezos is blue origin. Just finally, after a delay from, was it yesterday, the day before? They had a delay of their massive New Glenn rocket. Um, which is, uh, this thing is like 300 and something. I don't know. It was huge. It's huge. And, uh, it finally, about six hours ago.

Uh, it launched, uh, off, uh, Cape Canaveral and, uh, it, uh, it, it took off and poof away, away it went. And, uh, it was, uh, they, he tried to do a, uh. He tried to do a SpaceX-type return where they wanted to return the booster to the landing, and it didn't quite stick the landing. That that's the new hotness. The new hotness is not only sending up your stuff, but having it return to be reused later. And so that's.

that's going to be a cool story to talk with rod about and then uh the brand new starship from spacex which is one of the large this i don't know if you've seen this starship is monstrous And it's so cool looking because it just looks so retro. It just looks like a giant lawn dart. It's just so cool. Um, it's the most powerful, the biggest and most powerful rocket ever built. Um, and it's going up now for its, I think this is the seventh launch. Yeah. Seventh test flight.

of the starship mega rocket. Um, and, uh, it's going to lift off here, um, about 4 PM local time. So sometime around, uh, Sometime around 1 p.m. our time, it's going to go off and you can watch it. Space.com is going to have a live feed of the launch from Texas. And of course, if you've been watching there, if you've been watching, you know, I mean, Elon Musk was the first guy to have that secondary stage come back and land on like a pad or a floating thing.

Now, of course, with Starship, the secondary phase is coming and actually landing back on the tower. The tower has these two little chopstick protrusions, and the secondary stage has been coming in and hovering and then landing right on the... hooking itself to the tower it's it's the craziest stuff man it is so cool to watch Anyway, so we're hoping to hear from Rod Pyle here in a few minutes. I sent him a text and everything else. But we'll see how it goes here this morning.

We also have some headlines and we should have some headlines and some discussions on some of the local news and what's happening and everything that's going on. We've got the phone lines will be open. for you to call in and talk with us to see what you guys want to talk about. And more. It's all lined up for today. Now, tomorrow...

on the program. Also got some, um, also got some great, uh, stuff lined up tomorrow. We're going to top with, talk with, uh, uh, Rob Pincus from ice defense training and avidity arms. He is the ice combat trainer who he's wanting to talk about coming up here to Alaska and doing some combat pistol courses and some other things. He's been bugging me about that for the last couple of years, but I've been a little busy. I've been a little busy.

So, but we'll talk with Rob Pincus about that tomorrow for Firearms Friday. And then, of course, we'll also have our Willy Waffle segment, et cetera, et cetera, et cetera. So that's all going to be coming up tomorrow. And then on Monday, man, I've been cracking right along here, haven't I? On Monday, we're going to be talking with... Three ladies who are coordinating these Community Connect outreach clinics that are going on on the 28th of January in Fairbanks, in Kenai, and in Homer.

And so we're going to talk with the three ladies about that in our two on Monday. This big statewide and honestly, I think it's nationwide, this whole thing. And it should be it should be a good discussion here. on Monday for that. So that's kind of where things are laying out here in the next few days. I feel like I'm ahead of a game. For the first time in a while, I'm a little bit ahead of the game. And we're ready to get into this and going.

going on here. All right. While we're waiting here, I don't know. I'm waiting on her. I mean, I just... It's so frustrating. Sometimes I've just been I've been so looking forward to this conversation that I almost can't. Almost can't move on. Let's let's hit on some of the stories that are going on around the state. I don't know if it is. Is it me or does there just seem like there's a lot of stories about.

uh about people being shot and killed across the state i mean it just maybe it's just me because i'm only catching it in um you know i but it just seems like every time i turn around There's another story about somebody else being shot and killed or some incident with somebody being arrested for doing crazy stuff with a gun, etc., etc., etc. And today is no different, apparently. So first off, all the way up in Fairbanks, we have a story here about somebody who was shot and killed.

yesterday morning outside of the Midnight Mine, which is right down there by the courthouse. It occurred outside the place about 3.15 a.m. on Wednesday morning. Police have arrested Derek Dwayne McCormick Jr., 21 years old, on first-degree murder charges. Officers responded to a 911 call for gunshots fired at the bar's address. They found the employee fatally shot in the parking lot. That person's name has not been released, but...

They said that the bar was closed with just two employees still there, the victim and another person, when the shooting took place. And obviously this is apparently the day for stupid, stupid criminal tricks, because the suspect was actually tracked by one of the dispatchers after he called 911 and started providing false information.

He apparently reported the shooting, but provided false information about his name, date of birth, location, and the number he was calling from. Like 911 can't figure out what number you're calling from. Come on, seriously, really? They said the dispatcher figured out pretty quick that he was giving bad information and they were able to track his phone and lead officers right to him. He is now again under arrest. Then you've got.

That man shot in the robbery attempt down in Anchorage on Wednesday. I mean, this is what's going on in the state of Alaska. The the guy who was shot outside of the. spa in midtown well apparently he was he he was wearing an ankle monitor from a previous robbery That he had been in jail recently after being indicted for an armed robbery in 2024, but was released on bail with an ankle monitor.

And then he tried to break into an ATM inside the Daybreak Spa. And he tied up the spa owner with tape. She managed to escape and call 911. And, uh, and then they apparently they, they was refused their, their things and they, they shot him again. This is the second shooting in what? Two weeks. Um, in, in the, in. In no back to back days. Sorry. The second week, two separate officer involved shootings in Anchorage in a single week. Back to back.

And not to be outdone down on the keen eye. I mean, you just I'm reading these and I'm like, what is going on with with with with what is happening on the keen eye? A 63-year-old resident was arrested on Tuesday after police said that they were told he was pointing a gun at vehicles near the intersection of the Kenai Spur Highway and Swires Road.

On Wednesday morning, they said that Dale Curtis was arrested and charged with two counts of third-degree assault after officers responded to reports of a man aiming a firearm into traffic, according to dispatchers. Multiple parents were dropping children off at the nearby Mountain View Elementary. They told the police that when they saw a man with a gun held in the classic rifle stands as they waited to turn off Swires Road onto the Kenai Spur Highway.

I'm just surprised this guy didn't get shot. I'll be honest with you. You start pointing a gun at my car, that's a good way to get shot. I mean, really, seriously. But the police found Curtis at the intersection with a loaded Remington 12-gauge shotgun leaning against a nearby stop sign. No, no reason given why he had walked all the way through the woods to his house with a shotgun other than he said he was.

He placed the shotgun down at the stop sign because he was concerned about a streetlight being out. I mean, this does not sound like good stuff right here, right? I mean, this is just, is it me or is it getting a little weirder out there? I feel like it's weirder. All right. We got to go. We're going to be back in just a moment. Don't go anywhere. The Michael Duke Show continues. Common sense, liberty-based, free thinking radio. We return with more right after this.

If you missed the show, you can listen to it on your time with Duke's On Demand. Oh, and it's free. Like America used to be. Streaming live every weekday morning on Facebook Live and MichaelDukesShow.com. Okay, my friends. Let me double check something here because I don't know why. Rod was is usually just Johnny on the spot here. So let me see what's going on here six

All right, you guys talk amongst yourself for a second while I make a phone call to make sure I'm not missing anything, huh? Just talk amongst yourself for just a second here. I'll be right back. Well, that was a shorter call than I expected. It went straight to voicemail. So I don't know what's happening. I just talked to him on Tuesday. So we'll see. Maybe we got the time differential wrong. I don't know.

Maybe he's expecting to join us in hour two. Although I told him Pacific time. That time zone stuff really messes you up sometimes, right? I mean, what a bummer. All right, let's let's go over here. Rick said he sent me a picture of Starship this morning. I have to. I'll check it out. All right, I'm scrolling backwards here. Scrolling backwards. What's happening with you people? Good morning, good morning, good morning. Anthony caught the new mega flu cold virus thing.

I feel you. I've been stuffy for days, but I mean, I just feel good. Work, eat, sleep, repeat. Are you living my life, Bill? Is that what you're... Are you living my life? Did you rub my lamp? Did you come down here? Yeah, I'm looking forward to it. Let's see. uh, ask him about the large object that, uh, this is a bill asking me to ask Rob. Ask him about this large object that is a suspected craft headed straight towards the Earth and expected to arrive in two years spotted by Hubble. Uh...

Well, I don't know what that is. I have to look at that. Anthony DeAngelis says, once we figure out the logistics of getting materials and labor into space to build spacecraft, it's going to be real interesting. Everything we're building now has to be built at Earth, gravity and pressure. But if you can assemble a ship in space, core designs become way easier. I mean, yeah, that's what they talk about. If they could if they could bring an asteroid, a small asteroid.

mineable down near you know at one of the lagrange points or something or if they could find a way to mine the materials out there that's when, I mean, all the science fiction writers and the physicists and everybody else theorize that that'll change the game. When they start building orbital manufactories.

That will change the whole game as far as space exploration and everything else. Because you're right, it's getting the materials, it's getting the stuff up into orbit that is the toughest part. as far as that goes and the amount of energy it requires to take a single pound of something out into i mean it's monumental but if we still start building things out there um

Yeah, that would be a game changer. Absolutely a game changer. Speaking of firearms, has anybody seen Greg? No, I know Greg was busy. Was he came out on Monday? Was he on here? Monday or Friday. I don't know. He's probably, yeah, he's probably doing a lot of plowing. Good morning, good morning, good morning. Good morning. Good morning. Um, is it getting weirder? Guess it's getting weirder. I agree. Um, all right, let's, uh, let's, let's, let's get, let's get into it here.

The Michael Duke Show, Common Sense, Liberty-based, free-thinking radio. I think we'll be back here in just a moment. We'll get to it. The Michael Duke Show. Seriously humorous with a pinch of intellect. Pinch of intellect. Sorry. That is humorous. Here's Michael Dukes. Man, don't be so mean. Just don't do that. Welcome back, Michael Luke Show. It is Thursday. And I don't know, I was just I was just opining that maybe Rod Pyle, maybe we got our time zones mixed up or whatever.

I said 705 Pacific, and he said that sounds good to him. Maybe because he is in Pacific, maybe he thought it was, I don't know. I don't know what he thought. I gave him Pacific times and he's normally in California. So anyway, we'll we'll we'll have to see. We'll have to see if he's gives us a shout or a call in our two.

But I'm looking forward to this. Meanwhile, we dove a little bit into some of the headlines. And I'll tell you what, let's just open up the phone lines for you listeners. It's been a while since we've done. I don't think we've. Have we done any phone calls since the first of the year? I've been busy, so I can't even remember at this point. Maybe we should, maybe we should, you know.

Jump into this here and take some phone calls. See what you guys want to talk about. What do you want to talk about this morning? Do you want to talk about Greenland? I had to laugh. There was a poll on Must Read Alaska about the idea of Greenland becoming U.S. territory. And I mean, first and foremost, I just I just have to say this. That's a little arrogant. I mean, it's just a little arrogant that.

You know, I mean, because Greenland's been talking about wanting to have its independence from Denmark. And, you know, they've, you know, there's been a lot of talk. And I just I just I had to laugh because I thought it was a little arrogant for the president elect to go in there and just say, we'll just we'll just take over. We'll just I mean, I know that we've had a presence on Greenland for years since World War Two that I think it was Truman that was the first president to suggest that that.

You know, that they are not the first president, but the latest president. Secretary of State Seward wanted to buy Greenland in 1867. President Andrew Johnson considered it, as did President William Taft. So it's not like this is a. necessarily a new um idea but i just i always just think it's area was like we'll just we'll just take you over we'll just come on in you'll become a part of you know i just thought maybe it'd be nice to give them a

choice. I don't know, but there was a, uh, there was a poll and, um, The poll that Must Read did said 78% supported Greenland joining the U.S. And then there was also a poll that was done on Greenlanders. On people in Greenland. They surveyed 416 people, which you wouldn't think is much of a significant pop, you know. But the entire adult population of Greenland is only around 32,000 people. So they've got about as many people as downtown Fairbanks, you know, on their whole country.

Surprisingly, 57%, almost 58% of Greenlanders said, yeah, let's join the U.S. So I think is, I mean, it's. it's it's fun but again you know it might be a good idea from a strategic point but again we have already got bases there so why do we really need to you know

Why buy the cow when you can have the milk for free? Right. That kind of thing. Why do we need? Because, you know, if they did become a U.S. territory or I don't know what they'd become a protectorate, what would what would they become? I don't even know. But whatever it is, now we're on the hook for whatever it is. Now we're on the hook for the monies.

And I'm sure we're already got funds and things going in there for military expenditures and everything. But now you're on the hook for the whole dang thing. So, I mean, it would be. It would be interesting to see. I find it ironic, again, that... I think it was, who was it? Was it Larry Elder or Hugh Hewitt yesterday? I think it was Hugh Hewitt yesterday. Yeah, it was, because he's a retired attorney, and he used to work for developers. And he said,

One thing about developers is that they go into a room and they morph into whatever they need to be in that room. And he said, and that's how he sees President Trump, the guy who's able to negotiate the art of the deal in any room because he can go into any room and be whatever he needs to be. And that, for me, has always been kind of part of my challenge in liking or supporting Trump.

in some things is because he's always going to say one thing that you know it's like he says one thing over here and then goes to another room and says the other thing over here it's like whatever you want to hear and i kind of hate that you know but He knows how to gen up some controversy. He knows how to get some ink and some headlines.

I mean, his talk about the Greenland thing, I mean, that dominated the news cycle, right? What was the other thing that he did? Oh, the Gulf of America. Changing the name of the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America. And I think that that is genius. I mean, it really is. What does it do? Nothing. What purpose does it really serve? Nothing.

Well, it just, you know, but, but boy, can it really make a, it can really make a squirrel. Uh, it can really make a squirrel. It can really make them, their attention draw a squirrel over here. I mean, just, it's crazy. It's crazy. Oh man, it's absolutely crazy. So, uh, anyway, um, yeah, I mean, that would, somebody, uh, Terry in the chat room just said, maybe Greenland doesn't want to be bought. Well, according to the poll.

58% of people in Greenland are okay for joining the USA. So I will see what we can do. I mean, Greenland does have the potential. I think for a lot of, you know, it's much like Alaska in many ways, mineral development, other things. But it would be... It would be interesting. I, for one, would say let Greenlanders decide where they want to go. If they want to join the U.S., I'm not against it, I guess.

You know, what are the talking heads or the reporters was like, Mr. President, would you use military force to take over Greenland? And I'm just like. There's military, there's forward advanced military operating bases and other military assets on Greenland from the, we wouldn't even have to invade. We're already there. I don't think that's what he's saying. Are you why are you taking the bait? Why are you take anyway? It's it's it's pretty amazing to to watch some of this stuff as well.

Phone number to call, by the way. I suppose I said I opened up the phone lines and then I didn't give the number because, well, I'm a genius. 319-527-3864. 319-527-3864. If you'd like to call in this morning from anywhere around the state of Alaska to talk about, well... any of the topics that we've been chatting about this morning. We'd love to hear what you guys have to say and the direction that you want to go.

Well, I mean, I hate to say it, we're midway through January, and that means we are not too far away from the Iditarod. I mean, it's getting... It's getting close. And this winter has been, this winter has been a bit of a mess as far as stability in the weather patterns. And so the Iditarod sled dog race may not be able to run along its normal route owing to poor snow and trail conditions. And and much, much more. Oh, look at that. It's Rod Piles reaching out to me. And he's they said that the.

They sent out an email, the Iditarod Trail Committee did, say that noting the organization is closely monitoring current and forecasted conditions along the course. And they may be looking at race alternates between the southern and northern route. And they may have to start somewhere else since the inception of the Iditarod in 1973.

Bad conditions for the trail has prompted the organizers to switch to start in Fairbanks on three occasions, including 2017. When I was there, I broadcast the start of the race in 2017. And that was that was that was fun. That was fun to go up there. No Iditarod race has ever been canceled or postponed, not even during the depths of the pandemic when the event followed an out and out loop.

that was designed to minimize contact with participants with rural communities because of COVID. But they've been looking for, you know, they've been looking for better conditions. So we're ready. Um, we're ready to go. Oh, that was a, uh, that would, that's funny. Uh, Rod thought that when I said seven or five AM or I, anyway, he thought it was tonight.

He thought it was a night. He thought it was a night interview, not a day interview, not a morning interview. So that that I guess is that that was my bad. Oh, man. That's too bad. I don't know. Let's see. I want to see if he can come on. I'm going to see if he can come on anyway. Yeah, we'll see if he's available here in just a minute. Maybe in hour two we can talk with Rod Pyle because I really want to get into that. That should be a lot of fun.

Okay. So what was that? The Iditarod. We talked about that. So we don't know. We don't know exactly what's going to happen, but they're keeping an eye on it. They're going to make a final determination on the route by February the 3rd, according to their spokesperson. But, I mean, the last couple races, I mean, it's been the...

A couple of the other races, the classic races, have had some really hard times. The Copper River Basin, excuse me, the Copper Basin 300, which was held over this last weekend, saw above freezing temperatures for much of the course, which is not good for the dogs. because they can overheat. They prefer the sub-zero temperatures. And a lot of areas, you know, river ice is not firm. And, I mean, it's a, you know. It's a concern for sure. So we'll know more on February 3rd on that. Okay.

I guess we'll continue on here in just a minute. We're coming up on the break, and so I won't try and shoehorn something else in there. We'll be back. Don't go anywhere. The Michael Duke show continues. I guess I'll talk to Rod here. in a few minutes and see if I can, uh, see if we can shoehorn him in an hour or two, maybe. I mean, I'm okay, but the phone lines are open. 319-527-3864. You feel like you want to call up and change the conversation to something else?

Let's do it. All right, back with more right after this. We're broadcasting live through a series of tubes. Allowing all of these entities to provide streaming stuff going on the internet. Well, it's kind of hard to explain. Sorry. Streaming live every weekday morning on Facebook Live and MichaelDukesShow.com Okay. Let's see here. Let me see what he says. i'm just saying he's like i got everybody all hyped up about this space thing and then

Rod forgot that I was a morning show. He thought it was an evening interview. Evening interview. Okay. I'm going back up here to see what you guys are saying. Brian Cherry says 32,000. Offer them a million dollars each. It's cheaper than war. Hell, I'd move to Greenland for a short period of time for that. Yeah. Kim says that Trump is always one step ahead. Rare earth minerals. That's what he's talking about. Well, I don't know. Maybe. Bradley says sweetness, another national park for the U.S.

I mean, it's true, right? I mean, it is, you know, can you imagine how the environmentalists would be if we're like, we're going to take Canada and we're going to, or we're going to take Greenland and we're going to, we're going to strip mine it, you know? And they, oh, man. Just set them up our permanent fund, says Rick.

And Richie said when I say the president says things that really kind of serve no purpose, he says it does serve a purpose. It elevates the blood pressure of the village idiots that hyperventilate any time the president-elect speaks a word. The media idiots as well. The rest of us laugh at them. Oh, man. All right, so no Rod today. Oh, I'm so bummed, man. I've been looking forward to this for two days. Yeah. Randy says he prefers Gulf of Mexico. At least that's what I'm used to.

I don't think there was an advantage to changing the name, Randy. I think it was just one of those hyperbolic things that he has a tendency to throw out just to. just to spin them up, just to yank their chain. I think it's intentional. I really do. I mean, good for him. Yeah, that's right. I forgot. He also made the comment about changing Denali, the name of the mountain Denali, back to McKinley. You know, I don't know.

Yeah. Let's see. How about a school openings report? Well, as far as I know, all the schools are open today and everything's running on time. I have not received an email or a message from anybody about any of that. All right. The Michael Duke Show Greenland Edition. Welcome to the party, pal. Welcome to the party, pal. That's what I'm saying.

emailed you a supercomputer story short. Okay, let me break out the email. Rick has been prolific this morning in sending stories out here for... I mean, I would much rather talk about... I would much rather talk about SpaceX and everything else. What's this? Oh, this is the new... Oh, man, the new Starship. That's a great shot. Thank you.

um ai just built the biggest ai supercomputer in just 122 days uh what i mean that won't end well right i could just tell you right now that that's not going to end well An AI building an AI supercomputer? You want the Terminator? That's how we get the Terminator. It's the largest AI, the largest liquid-cooled AI supercomputer in the world, boasting over 100,000 NVIDIA HGX H100 GPUs. exabytes of storage and record-smashing networking. It went from an empty shell to operational in 122 days.

Using next-gen liquid cooling 800 gigabit... 800 gigabit Ethernet switches. I'm a little... I'm a little concerned. I'm a little concerned. I just have to say that right now. Come with me if you want to live. Come with me if you want to live. I'm just a little concerned about that. All right, let's get to it. Here we go. The Michael Duke Show. Common Sense Radio.

The Michael Duke Show. Not your daddy. Wait, sorry. Not your daddy? Ooh, not your daddy's talk radio. Whew. I was scared for a second. Thought we were going down. Here's Michael Dukes and the show. Okay, so I got it all hashed out with Rod Pyle. The problem was when I said 7.05 or 8.05 Pacific time, I didn't put 7.05 AM or 8.05 AM. He thought it was going to be an evening interview. He's like, Michael, I thought it was tonight. Oh, man. Okay, so we're rescheduling with Rod Pyle, which is...

Which is a bummer, because I was really looking forward to some stories about space. But we can do it on our own. We can talk about some of this stuff, because that's what I've been looking at here the last day or so, was looking at that. And then Bill or excuse me, then Rick sent me this new story here, which I mean, it's a it's a brand new story. A.I. X.A.I. Colossus, that's the name of XAI, small X, big AI. XAI's Colossus is the largest liquid-cool AI supercomputer in the world.

It's made up of a hundred thousand NVIDIA HGX H100 GPUs, which are, they use these video cards as processing units because they're so fast and they're so, so they. They've got 100,000 graphics cards, essentially, graphic processing units. 100,000. It's built in Memphis, Tennessee, and it went from an empty shell to fully operational in 122 days.

It, um, powering AI, uh, XAI's Grok with a 3.6 terabit bandwidths per server terabit. Um, and 400 gigabit bluefield super nick cards which is this thing has Okay, so just, I'm sorry, I'm probably talking technobabble to a lot of you, but you have to realize that most home internet routers... You're lucky if most of them are a gigabit, right? One gigabit. Some of them now are getting into the two gigabit, two and a half gigabit range. But you're talking about one gigabit, right?

This place is running on 800 gigabit Ethernet switches. And a dual cluster network for CPUs and GPUs. I mean, all I can do is I'm looking at this and all I can think of is you want the Terminator. This is how you get the Terminator. You have an AI build and design the biggest AI supercomputer ever. and then they build it in 122 days. And in another 122 days, then the machines will rise. That's what will happen. The machines will...

Come with me if you want to live. I mean, that's what it is. That's what it's going to be like. It's just so crazy. Some of the technology is advanced. And I mean. I'd be lying if I had to say I'm not a little concerned about what's happening with the, if I'm not a little concerned about what's happening with AI. Just a little bit concerned there. That's all I'm saying.

All right, well, let's get into at least one of the stories for what's happening this morning from Space.com, because I've been wanting to talk about it. I'm going to talk about it. Blue Origin's new Glenn rocket just earned its wings. It launched for the first time ever this morning, rising off a paddock Cape Canaveral on Florida Space Coast at about 2.03 a.m. Eastern Time. About 12 and a half minutes later, the rocket's upper stage reached orbit, which was the main goal of the test flight.

which Blue Origin, which is Jeff Bezos' company, nicknamed the test flight NG-1 for New Glenn 1. Now, they attempted to stick the landing. They attempted to land New Glenn's reusable first stage on a ship in the Atlantic Ocean. The booster managed to fire up three of its engines in the reentry burn as planned, but it didn't stick the landing.

The successful landing would have been something of a surprise. The company had been stressed repeatedly in the lead up to the launch that that was a secondary goal, not the primary goal. This thing was 320 feet tall, which is 98 meters. And they had a bunch of delays. Like I said, today's liftoff was originally planned for four or five days ago.

And they had to push it back due to rough seas in the landing area. And then they had a problem on the 13th, three days ago, when they had ice buildup on one of the power units, which they were trying to chase down. And now they are ready to join the big boy club. They want to try and compete with SpaceX's Falcon 9, which is the...

the reusable rocket that Elon Musk has put together. I mean, they've had however many hundreds of launches. I saw something the other day that said one of the boosters has been back up something like 30 times. on 30 different launches they just they they clean it up they buff it back out they take the scratches out and then they send it back up oh man um

So it should be interesting. They're also creating a new project. Amazon's got a project, and Amazon, of course, is also owned by Jeff Bezos, Project Kuiper. which is broadband internet services. And it would become a competitor to Starlink. Amazon already has a license to launch over 3,000 Kuiper satellites.

So they want to be able to carry their, you know, again, it's that vertical integration. It's the same thing Musk did using his own rockets and his own stuff to launch the, you know, to launch his own satellite constellation. I mean, that's pretty cool. They also are working on some other things as well, including the, what is the new thing? It's called the Blue Ring Pathfinder. which is an in-space data collection, tracking and command systems that are built into the New Glenn rocket.

And they plan to launch some stationary satellites above the Earth. And and and take a bunch of get a bunch of data for medium or low Earth, low Earth orbit and to set some stuff up geosynchronously so that it's geostationary. Anyway, there's a lot of cool things that are going on with that. Now, of course, not to be outdone on this front, Elon Musk has set up the seventh test flight of Starship, which is going to happen today.

And it'll be about 1 p.m. 1 p.m. our time. And you can watch it over at SpaceX or Space.com. Space.com is going to have a live. flight as well. Starship is the biggest and most powerful rocket ever built, consists of two stages, both of which are designed to be fully and rapidly reusable. The giant booster, which is a super heavy. And the spacecraft known as Starship or simply ship. Now the super boost, the giant booster has like, I can't remember how many.

motors it's got it's got a bunch you know the falcon 9 ones the ones that return the starship booster is made up of like 19 of those It's like somebody is like, here, let's take all these bottle rockets and then rubber band them together and put a bigger rocket on the top. That's exactly what it did. I mean, it seems that seems kind of silly, but.

That's exactly what they did. They took the Falcon 9s and the Falcon 9 heavies and they put it and they banded them all together inside of a case and they just got a whole slew of them. And now they call it the super heavy. So I'm super excited to watch what happens. And then, of course, now they're catching the super heavy. the lift, the booster. They're catching it on the tower with the chopstick arms, which if you haven't watched that video, it's so cool.

uh you should you should uh you should go check it out but again today 1 p.m if you get to take your lunch late bring your phone with you go to space.com and watch the uh and watch the launch of the spacex starship at 1 p.m. this afternoon and we can all geek out together man we can all geek out together um

We'll see where it goes from there. All right. We're coming up on the end of the hour break. And I have no idea what we're going to talk about in hour two because I was expecting to talk with Rod Pyle. I've been so focused on that that we'll just have to figure something out. We'll just sit down and chit-chat. How about that? And we'll take some phone calls.

Because now the phone lines are really open again. 319-527-3864. I think this is the first time that we've, I don't think, we haven't taken phone calls since we got started here, have we? I mean, I've only been back for 10 days. So no, we haven't. There we go. So we'll figure it out. Let's get to it. All right. The Michael Duke Show continues.

I mean, you know, the show's been going so well this week. And then I'm like, boy, this thing is just so smooth. And then it turns into a hot mess on a Thursday. That's okay. Tomorrow, Rob Pincus will be joining us for Firearms Friday. It's been a while since we talked to Rob and, of course, Willie Waffle. So we're looking forward to that as well. All right, let's... Let's get out of here for a minute. We've got news and more coming up. The Michael Duke Show, Common Sense Radio.

Okay. Let's go over here. Let me see what you guys have been talking about here. Richie, I'm not complaining. I don't know. I think Richie thinks that I'm trying to take the president to task or something. He said, we're supposed to overlook men with beards and penises deciding they need to be called women. But the man mentions changing the name of something like a waterway or a territory and people lose their minds. I mean, like I said, I think it's brilliant.

I mean, they're doing it for a reason, right? I mean, he's doing it to get their goat. I'm not working. Bill says Trump changing the mountain back came from working at McDonald's. It can be the Denali Mac, right? Because it was the McKinley Mac, right? That's what it was back in the day. The McKinley Mac. Yeah, I forgot about that. How come Lisa never calls the show? Well, that's a question for Lisa. She doesn't like the questions that I ask, I think, you know.

All right. Duke's what? Oh, Brian says Duke's nighttime edition. Duke's after dark. As as opposed to Duke's before light. Dukes after dark. That's, wow, that's dad. I'm your dad. Dukes after dark. Morning show and night show. Oh, my God. I would like to sleep sometimes, guys. Please, can I sleep at some time in the future? All right. Let's see.

Good morning, good morning, good morning. Let's see. Don't forget to stop at the gas station. Artificial intelligence is also being used in rural clinics in the Yukon-Kuskokwim. And had to respectfully deny use of the AI beast in the laptop as third part new administrator in my health. Okay. No. Okay. I mean, AI is being used for so much stuff. I use AI now almost every day to help me concise down news stories and some of the other things. Facebook is still censoring, says Willie.

I don't know. Mark Zuckerberg said they're going to stop. Don't you trust the Zuck? Pete says, How about trading Denmark, Puerto Rico for Greenland? I don't think they want that. No, no. Okay. 33. Thank you, Rick. I thought it may have been undershooting. I thought it was near 30, but I thought, no, maybe it was 19. Each Raptor rocket engine produces twice as much thrust as all four engines on a 747. Each one. And there's 33 of them. 33 of them. Oof. Man.

And I think Elan said that they can add about three more meters to the booster before they have to go to a larger diameter. Oh, I just love it. I just love it. Love it. We're all in the matrix. You want to watch a freaky video about that? You want to watch a freaky video about we're all in the matrix about the whole idea that. You know, because it's the simulation hypothesis, the simulation hypothesis that we're all living in a simulation, right? The Y files has...

A video on that. On YouTube. The Y files on YouTube. The simulation. I guess I'll just get the link for you. How about that? YouTube. A simulation hypothesis. I'll get you the link here, and you guys can watch it. It is crazy. Okay. This is one of my favorite channels to watch when I have, when I... What the what? There we go. There we go. Right here. I found it. I love this. I love this. This this channel. It's super entertaining.

And we have a we have a really skip it. Oh, my gosh. No, don't play that. Do not play that. OK. I'll get the, I'm going to copy the link for you guys. Here you guys go. I suggest if you've got some time and you like space and craziness and you're a fan of Coast to Coast or whatever else. I recommend you go over here and you follow and subscribe to this channel, The Y Files. So much fun stuff in there. So much fun stuff and so entertaining.

the last year and a half, Terry and I, sometimes we'd watch, uh, you know, one or two episodes, uh, three episodes a week sometimes with, uh, with this guy and they're super fun. The Y files go, go check it out. always something interesting and entertaining on there. And, uh, I love the host, uh, AJ, uh, AJ Gentile. I love it. So anyway, we're all in the matrix. Go look at, um,

All right, we got to go here. We're going to jump into it here. It's time to get ready for hour two, for which I'm not ready for. Although I do have a phone call, so I guess we'll take that phone call right at the top of the show. Maybe it'll gin up some interest. I don't know. We'll see where we go from here. back in its holster. We haven't gone anywhere. I don't understand. Check out themichaeldukesshow.com for information on how to get access to the podcast. Welcome to the party, pal.

The Michael Duke Show. The greed and the entitlement is astounding to me. What more could you want from a low-budget radio program? This is a dumpster fire. That was just BS. It is time to get a new perspective. We know just what you need and we've got just the cure. Open wide and prepare for a steaming hot cup of freedom. I just don't. The Michael Dukes Show, streaming live across the world.

Live around the world on the internet at michaeldukeshow.com and across the state of Alaska on this, your favorite radio station and or FM translator. Hello, my friends. How are you doing today? Are you ready to go for hour two of this Thursday? I'm a little, I'll be honest with you, if you're just joining us, I am a little disappointed today because I was really looking forward to... Our guest last hour, Rod Pyle, who was supposed to be with us.

I failed to put AM on the time thing, and he thought it was an evening interview, and so we're going to have to reschedule it, which, I mean, life is full of disappointments, right? What's the Princess Bride? Life is pain. Anyone who says something different is selling something. You know, but I'm just a little bummed. Just want to let you know I'm a little bummed. I really wanted to talk more about space today, especially with somebody who's much smarter on it and more in tune than I am.

We'll get back to that. We'll have Rod Pyle back on the show here in the future. He said he's going to, once he gets in front of a calendar, we'll reschedule it properly this time. But that leaves our two wide open for any form of discussion or topic that you guys want to talk about. And so I've opened up the phone lines at 319-527.

319-527-3864. And I'm getting ready to take phone calls and see what you guys have to say. So I don't really have, there's a couple more local stories that we could get into. but nothing, you know, nothing that's super bleeding edge. So if you want to sound off, now's the time to do it. Let's get over here to the phones.

And we'll start off with this caller over here who held on through the news. We'll start here. Good morning. Who's this? Where are you calling from? Good morning, Mike. This is Henry Aldermere. Hello, Henry. What's on your mind today, sir? Hey, you know, Natasha, I don't know if I remember her. They're taking public comments on the finance committee, and I kind of got your mask. Could you... Right. Anyhow, I'm telling you...

You know, Congressman Begich and they're both pointing out that a lot of foreigners are showing up. And I remember when Nick was on, I'm going to get him back on and ask him to go along with President Trump's plan to fix this problem of age. Is he going to work with the governor or ask the governor who's going to stop bringing in all these foreigners? Is the governor going to work with...

You're talking about just, Henry, just clear. Anyhow, I've got something to talk about, Mike. We are pretty invaded, man. We're being invaded. And I've heard you say this and I've heard other people. I've heard a few other people say this. We're being invaded. And something about the governor is allowing. Is it illegals? Is it just foreigners? Is it foreign visas? Is it... Over the village of Wainwright?

And something bad might be about to happen. We need to be ready. You know, if you bring back the Alaska Territory Guard, you know, Alaska was invaded, you know. Because they take over our government and they control all agencies, weaponize against us. You see the new crop of...

All right. All right. Hold on. Hold on, Henry. You're kind of hopping around on me here. So. I was trying to talk about—so first, I know you just said drones over Wainwright, and I'm assuming you're talking about the village of Wainwright, not Fort Wainwright, because they'd probably shoot him down over Fort Wainwright.

But I wanted to go back to what you were saying about this invasion, because you've said that several times. I know you've called in and you've mentioned it in the chat room as well. And you're asserting that the governor is bringing in or allowing to be brought in. Are they illegals or are they are they foreign nationals who are, you know, for for.

You know, compassionate purposes where they're giving asylum or what what is what where are these people coming from and how is the governor involved? Can you explain that to me? Because I don't think I've ever gotten a clear idea of what that's about. Okay, you know, by giving grants to NGOs, he's working with the drug cartels and even traffickers. because they get a lot of money, but President Trump is going to cut off money to NGOs who are doing that. Okay. Henry.

Okay. All right. I will. I will ask. Next time I talk to the governor, I will ask him about this specifically, Henry. 10,000 and 60,000 is 70,000, which is not a third of Alaska's population. But. You know, again, hopping around and I'm looking for some more specifics. I've heard a lot of the kind of the floating rumors around about, you know, number of illegals coming into the state and et cetera, et cetera. I mean, I personally don't.

I'm not concerned about it being a problem. Maybe that makes me part of the problem. But I just want to know, you know, because I've heard somebody else say, well, the governor's involved. Well, in what way is the governor allowing? You're saying he's involved with the NGOs and the cartel. I have questions.

I have questions about the veracity of where you're going with that, Henry, quite honestly. And I know you're passionate about it, but if we can't get some detailed answers, it's going to make it. It makes it more difficult to value the argument when there's really no details other than these assertions that this is happening and that is happening and that it's, I don't know. i don't know all right um so uh let's i guess i did mention coast to coast am didn't i so that was the thing

319-527-3864. 319-527-3864. If you'd like to sound off this morning. I mean, maybe we could buy Greenland and then send all of them to Greenland. Send all of the illegals to Greenland. Maybe that would be the answer. I mean. Maybe that's what we should maybe that's what we should do is send them all over there. I don't know. I don't know. I mean, like, I'm not I.

I think it's fascinating that this is what the president has brought up and that it's still in the news. This was like what? This was like, I mean, this was like 10 days ago. Nine days ago, still in the news. There was another news story that popped up that was talking about them still talking about green. I mean, the Washington Post just wrote an article.

The Washington Post just wrote another article about it. And so it's still in the news. The guy's a genius. You cannot say that the president is not a media. siphoning genius at this point he's just trying to get their attention all the time And, I mean, he'll be back to being president here in four days, and then we'll see exactly what's going to happen. People, I'm sure, will lose their minds and get all over that.

All right. What is the other story that I wanted to get to here other than my space stories and all of that stuff? Space. Oh. Three companies have now expressed interest in a brand new process. That the state division of oil and gas is now in the after they've expressed an interest that the division of oil and gas has now started a formal process. That may result.

in the exploration, in new exploration at Augustine, Augustine Volcano. The Alaska Division of Oil and Gas, which manages the state's geothermal program, issued a formal finding on January 10th concluding that a geothermal lease sale at Augustine would be in the state's best interest. Such findings are required as precursors to lease sales. They hope to hold the Augustine lease sale as soon as possible.

It last eruptions that came out of Augustine stretched over about three months in late 05 and 06. Geothermal energy projects use the heat beneath the Earth's surface. There have been some geothermal projects that have successfully tapped into energies at volcanic sites.

in the lower 48 notably in nevada where a power plant located on a volcano's flank has been operating for decades An upcoming Augustine geothermal lease sale would offer up to 55,000 acres and 24 tracks all on the north side of the island and in nearby offshore areas. So, I mean, three companies have notified the Division of Oil and Gas that they're interested in exploring the geothermal resources at Augustine beyond the area permitted that's already there.

Um, and I guess, I guess what they build, I don't know, would they build a power distribution, um, you know, uh, power distribution from there, would they build power plants? Chena Hot Springs up in Fairbanks uses geothermal energy to heat its pools, to electricity, heat the buildings, keep the greenhouses open. They use the geothermal up there.

North of Nome, the heat from the Pilgrim Hot Springs has been used since the early 1900s to support food producing gardens and a greenhouse operation that supplies produce to Nome. It would be... It would be interesting. It would be interesting to see what they could find. And I love the idea of geothermal. I do love geothermal because it's of the consistency of it.

Of all the renewables out there, and I don't know if they still consider hydro a renewable or not, but of all the renewables out there... I would say geothermal and hydral are the best because of the consistency. You know, wind and solar, they're up and down, up and down, up and down. And I know that there was some discussion at one point, too, about tidal generators.

Which is also consistent. I mean, in a way, it's not constant, but it is at least consistent. Tidal generation as well. I mean, hey, let's talk about it. Geothermal as a way to generate electricity. Let's talk about where that leads. That would be a very, very interesting discussion to see where that goes. But they're working on it right now. So what are they saying? They're saying that...

The lease sale, well, they don't put a date on it, but they say they want to do it as quickly as possible. I would love to see where it goes from here. geothermal from the volcano let's go let's go let's make it happen all right we gotta go the michael duke show common sense liberty-based free thinking radio Phone lines are open 319-527-3864. Kind of a whatever day you want to call in and talk about invasions and drug cartels.

Whatever else you want to talk about, we're here for you. Let's do it. Back with more right after this. Running on 100% pure beard power. Oh, also some coffee. We dip our beard in coffee. Ha, nice beard. The Michael Duke Show. Okay. All right. What's happening? What's going on? Let's see. I'm scrolling backwards here. 22 below in Fairbanks and my truck is not plugged in. Well, come on. You just started it. Right. It'll be happening. Okay. I'm scrolling through here.

almost 50 years in the archipelago and now i am deeply concerned to go walking alone in the daylight without either a guard dog or a mace canister yeah Good morning, good morning, good morning. Let's see. This band, go to the late night show. Harold says a geothermal lease sale near a volcano. That's the dumbest idea in world history. Except for they've been operating a geothermal thing.

in nevada on a volcano for decades so probably not as dumb as you think it is i mean because you know it worked um A geothermal program in NACNIC destroyed the electric utility, said Brian. Yeah, I don't know anything about the production of electricity utilizing geothermal other than... You know, I mean, it's probably pretty constant, but, oh, the maintenance on steam geothermal maintenance on steam geothermal maintenance is insane.

Yeah. The geological formations near Chena Hot Springs would be a start. Well, yeah, they're already using it up there. They're already using geothermal up there. I was just talking about that to run the whole. to run the whole resort they're doing everything up there on their own um all right we're all caught up we're all caught up destroyed it financially not physically it didn't destroy the utility physically financially it destroyed it um all right there we go

All right, well, you guys, you're not being much help today. How come you're not calling in? I mean, Henry called in. I just want a kind of a more cogent argument with some backing. with some citing your sources and bibliographies attached on some of those stories. But why not? Give us a call. 319-527-3864. 319-527-3864. uh oh wk says back on that when i was talking about the uh when i was talking about the uh iditarod

WK over on Rumble makes the point that the Iron Dog needs the snow as well. Yeah, everybody, everybody needs that. Kevin says you should get Bernie Carl on the program. I've had Bernie Carl on my program several times. I've known him for years. He is such a character. He's an interesting cat. I like him.

He is very much the consummate entrepreneur. There's a guy that's always looking for something, something new, something new to turn his hand in. So, yeah, we should get Bernie Carl on the program to talk about that. All right. Alaska natural gas. Destroyed it financially. Okay. all right well we're all caught up here i am i'm just randomly reading words at this point

Let's continue on. The Michael Duke Show, Common Sense, Liberty-based, Free Thinking Radio. I see that Joel has joined the phone call. He just called us in, so we're going to jump into that. Don't go anywhere. Again, don't forget tomorrow. I can't believe tomorrow's Friday already. Rob Pincus will be joining us from Avidity Arms, Ice Training, and more. We're going to talk with him. The Michael Duke Show, Common Sense, Liberty-based, free-thinking radio. Let's do this thing.

Here we go. Public enema number one. Oh, wait, sorry. enemy, public enemy number one, which makes more sense. On the other hand, he's a little bit of a pain in the Michael Duke show. All right. Welcome back to the program. Thank you for being part of it. Hour two continues. Open line, open form. We're taking some phone calls. We were just talking about that geothermal, which Brian points out in the chat room that the...

There was a geothermal program up in NACNIC, which financially destroyed the electric utility, because apparently the maintenance on steam geothermal is insane. There's a lot of maintenance costs involved. And like I said, I know... virtually nothing about, um, how, how to generate, uh, you know, other than again, steam, inject a little water into that boiling stuff. The next thing you know, you got steam. So then you got steam generation, but yeah, I, you know, again,

I would love to explore some of these to get more information. Maybe we should bring an expert on geothermal on. Kevin suggested we bring Bernie Carl on from Chino Hot Springs since he's kind of been doing his own mad scientist thing out there. And we could. We could do that. Let me talk about that. All right, let's go over to the phones. Joel's on the line. Let's see what he has to say this morning. Good morning, sir. What's on your mind? Give me one second, Mr. Dukes.

Good morning. What are you thinking, my friend? I have a little bit of a scoop for you. I don't know if you heard about this. situation in Anchorage with the liberals that lit out this criminal and then he went on to re-offend. I haven't heard about that. I haven't heard specifically about it. Go ahead and go ahead and enlighten us, Joel. Give us the full rundown. There's a bit of a delay here for some reason. So just keep going. All right. Well, I got us. I got the scoop for you.

When I was a kid, I may have dated this lady. And let me just say, she was not loyal. Time goes on. That was high school. I met a couple of people. I met this guy named Connor Stefano. You know, we were something, I wouldn't say like best friends, but we're definitely good acquaintances. Okay. He's a bit of a character. I love the guy. Don't get me wrong. Right. That delay really is killing me. Okay. Go ahead. He has an older brother. And from the best I've been able to tell...

And there's been sort of a coercion situation going on with his brother where, you know, he's like deathly afraid of him and, you know, for good reason, apparently. So I've always been a little bit protectable to the guy, you know, trying to give them, you know, when you don't have anybody else, you've got to have like a friend where you can, you know.

kind of see outside your own little world. Man, this is tough. So time goes on. I see this female. She's like, I don't know if she's married to this. older brother or just dating I don't know but I know for a fact You know, there's a loyalty issue there. Right, right, right, right. And this Stefano, just for clarification, Joel, this Stefano is the, you're talking about the shooting that took place.

uh earlier the week where the this the the defendant trevor stefano is accused of shooting an anchorage attorney at his home is that the one that you're talking about that's that is correct okay so I don't know what happens. Trevor goes to jail. I think it's for murdering someone. And he serves like 14 years. And when I'm a kid, I'm like, oh, I'm never going to have to deal with this guy again. 14 years, you know, 30 years, never going to see him again. Which puts, you know, my friend kind of...

in a precarious situation. You know, I don't talk to these people. I just know them from high school. Right, right, right. So, I guess... Now that they're dating, she starts seeing someone else and ends up filing a restraining order against Trevor and that someone else happens to be this lawyer. Well, this lawyer, his mother, now get me, this is, I think, I believe his mother or one of his good friends is...

You know, may or may not be one of my tenants that I serve, and she is a caretaker for this lawyer's kids sometimes. Because he's a single dad and he suffers from the affliction of blindness. And so I've always had like a big heart for these kids. They're like the best kids ever.

I gotta take them to school sometimes, and, you know, they like to wear my sunglasses, and they're just, they're great kids, you know? So I kind of have a stake in this. I didn't realize everything that was going on, obviously. You know, I'm just some guy that works here. So I guess what happened is the liberals like lobby to let this guy out of jail.

Like they actively go out of their way. That Tobin character, Loki Tobin, she lobbies to get this violent guy out of prison. Okay. So what does he do? Crime of passion. Revenge. Attempted murder. He shoots this dude all up in his arm. Didn't even get him center mass, mind you. Which leads me to another point. How did a felon get a gun?

Oh, my goodness. He's not supposed to have a gun, right? He's not supposed to have it. Yeah. So it just for back. There's gun laws. How can he violate those gun laws? This is insane. Man, this this feels like this feels like an episode of Jerry Springer, Joel. But I mean, it really.

kind of weird because you're talking about this stefano and i didn't really talk about this shooting this morning because but this is the one that happened earlier in the week he had been he'd been convicted of murder in 2009 And he's been out on parole since 2021. So the guy's been out on parole for a couple, three years. And then he shows up at this house.

Um, and apparently shoots this attorney, his house is also his law office. And, uh, and, and yeah, so this sounds like again, an episode of as the world turns, but. I guess this is small-town Alaska, right? I mean, where all of a sudden you realize you know everybody involved? Well, yeah, these are all actual Alaskans, like the old time. Not the new people that moved in and call us colonizers, but the actual Alaskans, which is the only reason I know them. I don't choose my friends all the time.

But I got to say, I am praying for both parties. I do hear the lawyers not in... the hospital anymore i think he's on recovery yeah no it was not non-life threatening but i'm still gonna be praying for the stefano son i love the mother you know yeah All right, Joel. Well, thanks for giving us, like I said, the Jerry Springer backstory on this whole thing. This is some crazy stuff. I appreciate you calling in and being part of it today. Thank you very much.

Uh, 319-527-386. I mean, literally we'll talk about anything today. I mean, that's a, but again, this, this goes back to what I was saying earlier. Is it me or are things just getting a little crazy? around the state of Alaska. I mean, every day there's something to do with some new shooting in Anchorage. There was the guy just got killed in Fairbanks outside the Midnight Mine on yesterday morning.

Another shooting that took place. This guy was obviously not a mental giant either. The guy who did it because he called into 911 and started providing all kinds of false information, including his own phone number that he was calling from. And and they tracked him down and arrested him for that one. And then down on the Kenai, police arrested a guy who was down by Mountain View Elementary School on the Kenai Spur Highway.

apparently waving a shotgun around and pointing a shotgun at vehicles in traffic waiting to turn into the school. I mean, is it a full moon? Is that it? Is it? I have to check. Is it the full moon? It's not Friday the 13th, right? I mean, so what is going on in Alaska? I just don't remember seeing this number of stories. with this kind of madness going on all over the place uh and then down here in homer of course since i've been here we had the guy that shot up the

He shot up the clinic and the vet center, and then somebody tried to burn down. I mean, I don't know. People, man, people, it is weird out there. It is weird out there, going crazy. So it's going to be, you know, it'll be interesting to see. All right. 319-527-3864. 319-527-3864. Terry just said in the chat room, yes, it's a full moon.

Maybe that's it. Maybe I don't normally believe in astrology, but, you know, maybe for today, we'll just say it must be the full moon. That's what's driving all this lunacy because of the lunatics from the. Lunar position. Sorry. Oh, okay. Anyway, let's go back over here to the headlines. Was there anything new here that I missed that I wanted to get into?

No, just other than the fact that this guy, other guy that got shot, I mentioned it earlier in the last hour, but I should mention this other story. The police department yesterday shot a man during a botched robbery on January the 7th, but they confirmed yesterday that he was wearing an ankle monitor at the time. An ankle monitor. Aren't you supposed to be tracking where these people are?

I mean, and generally speaking, when you're wearing an ankle monitor, aren't you not supposed to be going around? I don't know. Maybe you have free reign. Maybe you have total and complete free reign. And I just didn't know about it. All right, let's go over to the phones one more time. Oh, hey, it's CC. Hello, Mr. Campo. How are you, sir? What's going on? Hey, Mike, how are you doing? Good, good, my friend. Mr. Campo was my dad, but thanks. Yeah, yeah. What's happened? Hey.

I just wanted to let folks know on Monday, the 20th, we're having an inauguration party breakfast over at Fender's. down there, the old Los Amigos. We're going to have a fun time over there. It's between 7 and 10. There'll be a buffet breakfast, or you can order off the menu. Just want people to go out and kind of celebrate a breath of fresh air, maybe a little change in attitude.

And so stop by, even if you don't have much time, you can stop between 7 and 8, 8 and 9, 9 and 10, whatever. But we're going to have the inauguration on all the big screens and just enjoy, like I said, getting together with some... some supporters and, and just have some fun, celebrate, celebrate the morning breakfast inaugural. Okay. So a morning breakfast inaugural on Monday, the 20th down at Fenders on South Cushman.

That should be fun, man. That should be a good deal. All right. Well, thanks, Craig. I appreciate you giving us a heads up on that. Thanks for folks in the Fairbanks area. I don't know if anybody's doing inauguration parties down on the peninsula. But up in the Fairbanks area, you can go over there on Monday morning for the inauguration. That should be a lot of fun. All right. We're going to take a break.

This show has gone so far off the rails today. I don't know. Oh, wait. Bill just said what? There's a new place with a bullet hole in Homer this week. Was there? I missed that story. Not surprising, but, I mean, weird. Let's proceed ahead. Back with more The Michael Duke Show. Common sense, liberty-based, free-thinking radio. If you missed the show, you can listen to it on your time with Duke's On Demand. Oh, and it's free. Like America used to be.

Streaming live every weekday morning on Facebook Live and MichaelDukesShow.com. Well, it's... Crazy time. Crazy time. What do we got here? I thought we were doing sciences, Harold. Did you know space is expanding faster than the speed of light? That is one of the biggest conundrums. that how did the, you know, the Big Bang and all that kind of stuff, how did the universe form if, if, I mean, it would have to be, it would have to be faster than the speed of light.

And that comes back to the Alcubierre discussion about bending space around itself and actually taking space with it. Therefore, it's not... busting the it's not busting the relative relativity theorem about how that's how it expanded faster than the speed of light it's a it's an interesting It's interesting stuff. I'm super excited about, I want to talk about that kind of stuff. I love space. I love that pseudoscience.

Alaska Hardy, Steve Decor is the owner and made a post about it. Okay. We'll get, we'll check that out. Smoked smelt omelets. That's what they're offering at the inauguration. Fresh from California, smoked, smelt omelets. Yeah, I do read a little occasionally. I do read a little, Harold, I know. uh, Alaska Hardy is the place where the bullet showed up, uh, made a post about it on Facebook. Okay. I'll have to check it out, but yeah. Um,

I'd open a restaurant called the bullet hole. If I had any restaurants, if I had any restaurant skills, I mean the bullet hole. I don't know if that would be. I've tried to think of a way to spin that from an advertising perspective into something clever. And I, I don't, I just, I don't have any, I can't, I can't this morning. I don't, I can't come up with anything.

on the restaurant called The Bullet Hole. How would you, you know, better than a hole in the head? No, I mean, I don't even know. What would you, how would you... This show has gone so far off the rails today. I'm just trying to think, how would you market that? You'll never be hungry again at the bullet. No. You got that hole in your belly. We'll fill it. I mean, I've tried to think here. I mean, what can we.

How could the bullet hole? I mean, I could see naming a restaurant the pie hole, right? But the bullet hole, how do you? I just, I don't even know. Yeah, I don't even know. I don't know. I don't know how I'd spin that, Brian. I'm trying to think. I'm trying to put my marketing hat on here and figure out how would you. How would you write a script? How would you write a piece of ad copy to make that clever? I just don't know. We'll have to see.

You know, I think you could make a golf course, a novelty golf course that you could call the bullet hole. Have you ever seen those golf ball launchers that you could put on the front of AR-15s? You ever seen those? I've got one. I've never, I mean, I've shot it a couple of times at the, you know, down on the friend's range, but you put on the, you put the.

You put the launcher on the front, you drop a golf ball down, you put a blank in it, and it fires it. I think you could have a novelty golf course that instead of using drivers, you used AR-15s with golf ball launchers on them. You could call that the bullet. in one oh jesse jesse wins the internet today she says all you serve at the bullet hole is blended meals and smoothies Because you can't eat anything solid because of the bullet. Oh, my God. Oh, man. I just, yeah.

That would be, all you could do is blended meals and smoothies. That would be perfect. Miguel said you could make a restaurant and a gun range in one. call it the bullet hole that would make sense i guess but again i i don't know i don't know What in the world are you guys talking about from rockets to bullets, says Rick? Rick, this show is so far off the rails today, I don't even know what to say. We're just going to continue ahead.

I'm just going to continue ahead. I've got another story that I can get into, but I'm just, you know, it's one of those things. What are you going to do? All right, here we go. The Michael Duke Show, Common Sense, Liberty Base, Free Thickened Radio. Like, share, subscribe, ring the bell, do all those things, you savages. We need a pan full of Bering Sea fried smelt, huge and tasty. I mean, I love me some fried fish.

I love me some fried fish. I'm all about it. Let's do it. All right, here we go. Getting back into it. The Michael Duke Show. Seriously humorous with a pinch of intellect. Pinch of intellect. Sorry. That is humorous. Here's Michael Dukes. Well, especially after listening to today's show. You know, I just, after I lost, I was so looking forward to Rod Pyle and I just had a handful of other stories because I was really, and that kind of, you know.

Usually I over-prepare for the show. Today, I was like a kid in a candy store wanting to get into all the space talk with Rod Pyle, and I messed it up, baby. Well, they can't all be Oscar nominees, right? They can't all be Oscar nominees. All right, well, let's get back to some of the other discussions. What was the... What was one of the other stories that I wanted to get into? Oh, this is interesting. There's a story, Yareth Rosen, over at the Alaska Beacon.

Talks about this new study that came out. It was surveys and interviews conducted by the University of Alaska Anchorage. And. it finds that Alaskans are willing to pay more for produce that is homegrown. Alaska grocery shoppers on average were willing to pay $1.90 extra for a head of lettuce if it was labeled as Alaskan grown. Now.

I don't know about you, but I'm looking for the produce that looks the best. I, you know, at some point if I need a head of lettuce or, uh, you know, some broccoli or I don't know, whatever you fill in the blank, whatever it was that I needed some kind of produce.

I'm looking for the produce that looks the best because at this point, it almost like it doesn't matter what you're paying. I just need to get the fresh produce that's going to last longer than from me taking it to my car and going home. I feel like in some cases, when we moved down from Fairbanks to Wasilla, that was one of my biggest misconceptions.

is I was like, oh man, Fairbanks, the produce is kind of iffy sometimes. So it sure will be nice to get down towards Wasilla, where I'm sure the produce down there is much better. And then I got down to Wasilla and realized, oh, they're trucking this stuff up through Canada and it's actually hitting Fairbanks first and getting to Wasilla because we bought some produce and put it in like a day and a half later, it was dead and rotten. And I'm like.

OK, wait, that's just so again. Yeah, sure. I guess not surprising that average Alaskans are willing to pay more if it was labeled grown in Alaska. But I really not looking at the label. I'm just looking for. How does it look? And yeah, I mean, I do like buying local produce, but usually that's the reason that I'm buying local produce is because it looks better than anything else.

Anyway, apparently there's a whole study going on, surveys finding that people are willing to buy locally grown stuff, and especially if it's labeled Alaska-grown. And that apparently is a whole thing from the Division of Agriculture. They've got an annual challenge. They call it the Alaska Grown $5 Challenge Program.

It encourages residents to spend at least $5 a week on locally grown food. This is all part of that whole food sustainability thing, which we've been talking about on and off here for the last year and a half or so. I mean, it sure would be nice to have a lot more local sustainability in food. But I don't think that we're going to go back to where.

Back to the good old days of the Matsu being the breadbasket of Alaska and all the dairy herds being in Matsu and in Delta and all that kind of stuff and most of our food being produced. It's just not going to... We're part of that whole global economy thing again. And it just makes it harder. It's the same. Quite honestly, it's the same argument over the Alaska LNG.

I mean, I sure would love to have Alaska LNG ready and available at my fingertips, but the financial aspect of it just doesn't work. And at this point, that's kind of where we are at in food security. I love to buy local produce. We do farmers markets. We do the produce section of the stores where they've got the local Alaska vendor stuff. We do buy that. I mean, it happens. But it's just not.

There's not the demand. There's not enough people in the state to cause the demand for us to be able to really make a go at having our own. food sustainability to where we can generate enough food on our own to feed the people who are here. And this story just made me think about it because they talk about the supply chain. They talk about the majority of Alaska's food is imported and supply chain disruptions.

natural disasters, and if we could create a stronger local food system to improve the resilience, it would help. Yes, I agree. I agree it would help in a lot of ways. And I do buy local meats. We try to do some of that stuff. But let's face it, sometimes you... You're not, you know, sometimes you're not going to do that. Or maybe you can't afford that. Anyway, it should be a...

It's an interesting discussion. This whole food security issue is an interesting discussion. I tried to get somebody from the Food Security Task Force on the program here, and we ended up talking to... I think we ended up talking to Andrew Jensen from the governor's office because nobody who was on the actual task force wanted to come by and talk about it.

And so they put Andrew Jensen on it. We talked in kind of vague generalities about it, which is a little frustrating because, again, from a preparedness standpoint. From a standpoint of somebody who wants to be kind of prepped and ready for anything, having some food security in the state makes sense. I would never expect us to go full on.

will be fully self-sustainable we don't need what they do you know we don't we don't need to import any food i just don't think that that's realistic from a monetary and economic standpoint again just like the the you know alaska lng kind of thing But I would like to see a little bit more sustainability in those things. So maybe if that's something that you're interested in talking about, maybe I should reach out again because that was about eight, nine months ago, maybe 10 months ago.

that we interviewed, we talked about food sustainability. If that's something that you're interested in, shoot me an email. If you want to talk about food sustainability in the state of Alaska and what that looks like, I mean, what is truly possible? Maybe you should shoot me an email, me at michaeldukeshow.com. M-E at michaeldukeshow.com.

And I'd love to love to hear from you. You could tell me whether or not you want to talk about food sustainability. I'm looking for some new topics because I know we're going to be hot and heavy into the politics of the session and everything else. But I already know that I'm going to grow very bored with going over some of the same points again and again and again, because I have a feeling that they're going to be stuck on repeat on the three topics of school funding, defined benefits.

and royalty relief or or south central gas whatever whatever you want to call it i know those are going to be the three topics and i know i'm going to be tired of talking about them at some point so i'm always looking for something new it's one of the reasons why i brought rod uh trying to bring rod pile back on to talk about it. But we could talk about food sustainability. If you guys have an interest in that, go ahead and shoot me an email. Again, me at MichaelDukesShow.com.

There's two S's in there, Dukes and Show. Me at MichaelDukesShow.com if you want me to do that, and I'll see if I can track down somebody who's a food security expert in Alaska who will actually talk to me this time. And we'll get to that as well. Coming up on tomorrow's program, we're going to be talking with Rob Pincus. Rob Pincus from Avidity Arms.

From ICE combat training. He was the personal defense network. He's the he does. He's does the PDN world tour where he goes out and trains military law enforcement. private citizens, and he does that around the world. He's also, again, one of the creators and founders of Avidity Arms. They've got their brand new pistol out that he wants to talk about as well.

And I'm sure we could talk about SHOT Show. We're going to have a lot of discussions on Friday with Rob Pincus. And then, of course, we'll also be finishing up the show with our friend Willie Waffle next Friday. Man, I am so far ahead at this point. Next Friday, David Kodria from Firearms News, from the War on Guns blog, and from thefirearmsnews.com and Guns Magazine. He's a writer for all those different...

He's going to be joining us next Friday and next Friday. And then this Monday, we're going to be talking with the three of the ladies, Jody Stewart, Bryn Butler and Derotha Ferraro about. the Community Connect event, which is happening on the 28th. We're going to talk with them on Monday. See, look, I've got a bunch of stuff already lined out. I feel like I accomplished something after this train wreck of a show today.

All right. Final things here for folks who are down on the peninsula. If you're listening to us this morning on KPEN. Before I took over, they were playing Charlie Kirk right after my show, and I had decided that I wanted to go back to music for the rest of the day, with the exception of myself and Chris Story, because we were local shows.

But a lot of you have been complaining about it. A lot of people have been calling in. So we have a poll up on our Facebook page, facebook.com slash chat FM. If you want to go take a look at that poll. and tell us whether or not you want Charlie Kirk to return from 8 to 11. And then we go back to music. If you want to just go right to music, you can do that. Otherwise, go vote. I'm taking the poll for about a week. We're going to make a decision on this.

So if you're listening to us on translators out in other areas, you can do that as well. Facebook.com slash chat FM. All right, we got to go. Thank you, my friends. We will see you tomorrow. Be kind, love one another, live well. Okay. Okay. All right. Okay. Where are we at? Let's see what she is. Shelly Hughes. Call Shelly Hughes. She's leading the program. Yeah. Bezos rockets make SpaceX look like amateur hour? Really? You think? Okay. Alright.

I mean, sometimes, Harold, I just don't know even how to take you. Like, you're just doing it for, you know. Anyway, Anchor Point Greenhouse is great for fresh produce, says Elena. in lots of it when they're opening for the season thank you elaine i appreciate that um Call Shelly Hughes. She's running the program. She's leading that program, the food sustainability. Maybe we should talk about that. Scrolling through here.

All right. Space guys rescheduled. Yeah, we're working on it right now. We're working on a space guy being rescheduled. And that will be that will be here soon. So we'll be we'll we'll do that. All right, I'm going to be watching the launch at 1 p.m. So it should be fun. All right. Yeah, I know Bezos launched last night.

You're not paying attention, are you? The Starship Heavy launch number seven is going on at one o'clock this afternoon. I've already seen the Bezos launch. I'm waiting for Starship. That's what I'm waiting for. All right. Thanks. I'll see you guys tomorrow. Have a great day. Our slimy lizard internet people.
