The Liverpudlian explores a wide variety of topics throughout a unique conversation in which he opens up on his childhood in 1980's Huyton and the subsequent role it has played in his controversy fuelled adulthood, familial relationships, his recently polarising criticisms of female pundits in the male game, an on-field career that saw him achieve an England cap in 2007, his plans for the future and many other aspects of his philosophically minded worldview.  

One of the truly idiosyncratic characters of modern football, Barton's journey has been one of madness, rebellion, mistakes, retribution and curiosity, with the former City midfielder never shying away from looking deep inside for the answer to life's more important questions.
