In two thousand and six, the USDA declared the corn Belt to be a six state region consisting of Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Ohio. Encyclopedia Britannica disagree slightly, saying Ohio isn't in the corn Belt, but Kansas is neither place include South Dakota in the corn Belt, though.
