A podcast that defies description, only because I don’t know how to describe it. I sit in front of a mic and talk about things I like or find interesting with guests dropping in who are much more interesting then me.

Welcome To My World Episode 28 - Getting To Know You Part 3!

As we get ready for the chaos that will be our 12 Days of Christmas mini-episodes, for the show this month we decided to give the "getting to know you" question format another run. This time around we discuss our favourite exercises, how we take our coffee and exotic pets among other things, and we even go off on a little tangent about Spoonville, painted rocks and embarrassing YouTube infomercials.

Episode 113 - Inappropriate Source Material!

When we were kids back in the 80's we loved nothing more than Saturday morning cartoons, so for this episode we turn the spotlight on three cartoons that were based on totally inappropriate movies for kids, Rambo: The Force of Freedom, Robocop, and The Toxic Crusaders. Who knew R-Rated films could sell cartoons and toys?

Episode 112 - The Crown Of Bogg!

In the first of our slightly changed, shorter format, this episode we look back on the 1981 Halloween "Classic" The Crown Of Bogg. Created by Paul Fusco, who later went on to bigger and brighter things, namely "ALF", its a story of Halloween, curses and reluctant kings. And its exactly the bizarre crap that keeps this podcast going!

Welcome To My World Episode 27 - Summer Blockbusters of the 90's!

As August comes to an end, and summer closes in the Northern Hemisphere we lament the fact that we still can't head out to the cinema for the latest blockbuster releases, so once again we look back at cinema of a time passed. This time it's the time of happy pants, bucket hats and wallet chains... the 1990s. We go over what made money, what didn't, and what we really enjoyed either way. ** Apologies for the sound quality on Mitch's mic for the first 2 minutes, but it does get better. Unfortunate...

Episode 111 - Crisp High-Five!

We're back for another month, with Mitch still stuck inside due to the Lockdown in Victoria, and Joe due to the cold, snowy weather in Tasmania, so what better to do than game and watch the streaming services? Joe continues more "Minecraft Dungeons", while Mitch explores within 5kms of his house on "Pokemon Go", then we watch a bit of TV with "Modern Love" on Prime Video, try episode 1 of Season 2 of "The Umbrella Academy" on Netflix, and get way more into "Jedi Temple Challenge" than two men in...

Welcome To My World Episode 26 - Summer Blockbusters of the 80s!

We're back with another longer than usual mini, and this month due to the return to lockdown in Melbourne and the reduction of all things entertainment worldwide due to the pandemic, we fondly look back at a time when we were allowed to go out and have fun, like going to the movies, with a retrospective on the summer blockbuster films of the 1980s.

Episode 110 - Streamers In Lockdown!

It's been a few weeks since we've caught up, so we start the show with a brief catch-up on what's been going on, including the announced return to lockdown in Melbourne, then after a very short chat about gaming we jump into all the TV and movies that are getting a run on the various streaming services, seeing as there really isn't that much else to do. Joe really enjoyed "Hamilton" on Disney+, but doesn't really get why they made it in the first place, Mitch finishes "Ozark" and learns about Li...

Episode 109 - Cosmic Rod!

On the show this month we discuss venturing out into the real world again now the lockdown laws are easing, as well as Joe finally finding good pizza in Launceston. In gaming we look at "Minecraft Dungeons" and "Unravel", as well as the new iso-friendly challenges on "Pokemon Go", and then go streaming crazy with the new Netflix series "The Big Flower Fight", crazy brits in Lycra on "The Almost Impossible Gameshow", money laundering in "Ozark", and teen superheroes on the DC Streaming "Star Girl...

Welcome To My World Episode 25 Influential Albums (Part 2)!

This month for our Welcome to My World episode, Mitch and Joe continue to go over their 10 most influential albums, rounding out the lists with another 5 selections each. On top of that we have a couple of honourable mentions, as well as a bit of a general discussion on how our musical tastes, and music consumption, has changed over the years too.

Episode 108 - Influential Albums (Part 1)!

On the show this month we discuss re-playing classic PC games from days gone by, as well as some more Xbox Game Pass titles, and the latest viewings on all of the streaming services while we are stuck in Iso, including "Chernobyl" from Mitch, and "Jumanji: The Next Level" from Joe. Then for the second half, inspired by the recent spate of Facebook and Twitter posts about the 10 albums that influenced you the most, we give it a little bit of an audio friendly twist and present our own choices. Welcome To My World Episode 24 - Isolation with The Goodies!

It what turned out to be a much longer than usual mini, this month we got together via Skype again to re-watch some classic episodes of The Goodies and remembered just how talented, and maybe just a little bit racist, they were. We also discuss life in lockdown, binge watching "Tiger King" on Netflix, a new webshow called "Cabin Fever", Elton John's strange performance on the "One World Together at Home Concert", and how some live TV shows are adapting to the current situation.

REPOST - 2015 Christmas Mini Episode Day 12 - The Goodies!

Mitch and Joe were both huge fans of The Goodies growing up, so were saddened by the recent death of Tim Brooke-Taylor from complications of COVID-19. As a tribute, we're re-posting this episode we did as Day 12 of our Christmas mini-sodes way back in 2015.

Episde 107 - I'm Not Booked, Terry!

After our extended break, we decided that seeing as nearly every podcast out there is now recording via Skype because of social distancing, it would be a great time for us to get back on board too. We catch up on what's been going on since Joe's move to Launceston, Mitch getting Xbox Game Pass and trying new games like "Rime" and Joe playing "Untitled Goose Game", plus the joys of streaming TV while we're stuck inside due to the shutdown, with Joe watching "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" on Prime Vi...

Day 12 - The Life And Adventures of Santa Claus (1985)

When we first started doing our 12 Days of Christmas specials, we said we'd not go with the Rankin Bass ones as they were a bit too well known, however to round out the countdown this year we broke that rule, but only because this Rankin Bass from 1985 "The Life And Adventures of Santa Claus" is so out there it was hard to pass up. Based on a novel by the writer of The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, L. Frank Baum, it's the story of how the immortals raised abandoned child Claus, and shaped him into the...

Day 11 - A Christmas Dream (1984)

Don't get confused, yes we know we did a cartoon called "A Christmas Dream" last year in the countdown, but it's not the same. On hell no! That was a cute stop motion animation about a little girl and a ragdoll, this master piece of self promotion is the story of a little boy (Webster himself, Emmanuel Lewis) who has lost the spirit of Christmas, so along with some celebrity friends including a very dodge David Copperfield, charity santa, Benny (played by Mr. T) shows him the true meaning of con...

Day 10 - The Outer Limits (1996)

We are very excited to present the show today, and not just because for Day 10 we chose The Outer Limits Season 1 Episode 13 "The Conversion", but also because it's our 200th podcast! Come help us celebrate by gatecrashing our work Christmas party, just like 90's hair-curtain, baggy suit wearing Frank Whaley.

Day 9 - Mother and Son (1986)

In what is probably a first for any of our Christmas countdowns, today we go with an Aussie comedy classic in the sitcom Mother and Son, with Season 3 Episode 1, "Christmas Drinks". Both of us have fond memories of this show, but somehow as we've aged, we both can relate to Arthur a lot more than we did as kids.

Day 8 - Bewitched (1970)

Today we watched Bewitched Season 7 Episode 13 (another ep 13!) called "Sisters At Heart", and although it's not all that Christmassy, it does tackle the issue of racism. Co-written by a group of African-American high school kids, we see what happens when a racist client come to visit the Stephens household while daughter Tabitha is having a friend over for a sleep over. Have we really moved on that far in nearly 50 years? You be the judge.

Day 7 - Alfred Hitchcock Presents...(1955)

We've made it to the end of our first week, so to celebrate we found a delightful little tale of an ex-con who gets a job as a department store Santa in the episode of Alfred Hitchcock Presents... from 1955 call "Santa Claus and the 10th Avenue Kid". In what seems to be a bit of a recurring storyline, the not so Christmassy crook learns to see the good side of the season.

Day 6 - Amazing Stories (1985)

It's another episode from an anthology series again today as we look at the Amazing Stories Season 1 Episode 11 "Santa '85", not surprisingly from 1985. It's the story of Santa getting arrested for breaking and entering, and the little boy who sets out to clear his name, and is a heaping serving of family schmaltz.

Day 5 - The Twilight Zone (1985/1960)

It's Day 5 today, and much like with Day 1 where we watched a couple of different versions of the same story, today we watched The Twilight Zone Season 1 episode 13 from 1985 "Night Of The Meek" staring Richard Mulligan as a drunkard department store Santa who magically gives out presents, as well as Season 2 episode 11 of the original run from 1960 with Art Carney in the Santa role. Who played it better? Which one was the better version? Well, each had their merits.

Day 4 - Muppet Family Christmas (1987)

For Day 4 we look at this slice of puppetry cheese from 1987, "Muppet Family Christmas". It features all your favourites from The Muppet Show, Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock, plus a special look at a non-animated Muppet Babies, but is it really any good? We think somewhere in all that homogenized, wholesome family cheer, the appeal of the actual Muppets got washed away!

Day 3 - The Night Gallery (1971)

For Day 3 we go back to the anthology format, this time with an episode of The Night Gallery that originally aired in 1971, Season 2 Episode 13 "The Messiah On Mott Street". In what really is more of a Hanukkah story than Christmas, a young Jewish boy searches for a Messiah, played by Yaphet Kotto, to help his terminally ill grandfather, played by Edward G. Robinson, in the dirty tenements of New York City. We both really enjoyed this one, and feel it makes up for yesterday's poor choice....

Day 2 - Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer (2000)

Some years we find gold when we are looking for Christmas specials, however today when we watched the animated movie "Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer" from 2000, it wasn't one of them. Surely an hour long movie adapted from a 3 minute novelty song from the 70's can't be all bad can it? Can it??

Day 1 - Tales From The Crypt (1989)

This year for our 12 Days of Christmas we're looking at TV Oddities. A collection of quirky specials or episodes from years gone by. And seeing as its also Friday the 13th, what better place to start than this delightful little story about a greedy wife bumping off her husband so she can cash in the insurance money on Christmas Eve with Tales From The Crypt Season 1 Episode 2 "...And All Through The House".

Episode 106 - Smithing It Up!

On the show this month we give our initial thoughts on "Borderlands 3", including Joe's issues with glitches, in games. Take the Netflix precision driving competition show "Hyperdrive" out for a spin in TV, and talk "Joker" and "Abominable" in movies. Plus Joe gives us his review of the musical "Come From Away" and Mitch gets creative a learns how to blacksmith.

Welcome To My World Episode 22 - Getting To Know You!

For the mini this month we thought we'd try something different, and maybe give the listeners a little bit of an insight into how our heads work. Mitch has dug up a website that has 100 icebreaker questions, so this time around we cover such things as "who are your heroes?", "what's your biggest fear?" and "what would you like to change about yourself?" along with a couple more.

This month we haven't actually played many games, so instead talk about our pre-orders of Borderlands 3 and the latest Ultimate Game Pass deal on Xbox One. Then in TV we have a spoiler free look at "Glow" Season 3, the original episodes the new show was based on finding their was onto the Tubi app, some cooking shows on Netflix, and re-watching "Glee", as well as the episode of Classic Albums on Amazon Prime that looks at The Beach Boys "Pet Sounds".
