Christmas is a time for family and friends, and maybe watching old TV specials, but not a time for maths as we struggle with the concept at the start of this episode. Once we get our heads back around the numbers, we look at Season 2 Episode 11 of "Community" called "Abed's Uncontollable Christmas", which is a stop motion tribute to the classic 60's Christmas shows like Frosty the Snowman or Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Although it's pretty hard to find Community online legally, the DVD for t...

The Tick is one of Mitch's favourite comic book characters, and it just so happens there is a very good Christmas themed epsiode of "The Tick" animated series called "The Tick Loves Santa". What better way to celebrate the half-way mark of this years crop of specials. We watched this one on kisscartoons.me, but there is also a good rip up on YouTube if you want to watch it for yourself.

Wow, what can we say about this one? With Mitch exhausted after going to the midnight screening of "The Force Awakens" last night, we decided that there was no such thing as too much Star Wars, and dug up his DVD copy of the Star Wars Holiday Special from 1978. Do you like Star Wars? Do you like Bea Arthur? Do you like funky retro cartoons featuring the debut of Boba Fett? And more importantly, do you want to see a wookie grandfather watching strange virtual reality porn? If you answered yes to ...

Mr. Bean is a strange fellow who gets in all mannor of crazy situations, none moreso that in this very funny Christmas themed episode from back in 1992 called "Merry Christmas, Mr. Bean". This might just have been Joe's favourite special from this years crop, and Mitch had some genuine laughs too. If you'd like to watch it for youself before we give away the gags, check it out on youtube here.

In the first of our unknown specials for the year, today we typed in "Christmas" on the kisscartoon.me search box and tried our luck with what came up. This strange but kinda cute collection of Christmas stories had gave us some chuckles, but we're still hoping to find a hidden gem like last year's "Junky's Christmas".If you want to see if for yourself before we give out the spoilers, check it out at kisscartoon.me ....

For Day 2 we thought we'd try our luck with an old favourite, and watched the Season 5 Robot Chicken Christmas Special. In true Robot Chicken fashion it takes on Christmas favourites like Home Alone, the very first Christmas, and the big man, Santa, himself. There are a few versions of this floating around online, we watched the uncut version that was on Kisscartoon.me if you want to watch it yourself to avoid spoilers....

Back with a vengance for our second year, it's time to hang the stockings, make some egg nog and sit back for 12 days of Christmas specials to put you in that Christmas spirit once again. Every day in the count down until Christmas we will be watching a TV special or Christmas themed episode, and giving you our own special take on things. So, for day 1 this year we thought we'd try something brand new and watched the Netflix original, "A Very Murray Christmas" starting the one and only Bill Murr...

Wow, it's December already? So, for what is becoming an end of year tradition, this month we sit down and discuss our Top Fives for the year. Not just a "Best Of" list, we cover some of the new stuff we've picked up, as well as our favourites for this year in games, comics, TV, movies and podcasts. As usual there are the strange tangents, possible spoilers and a bit of colourful language thrown in too!

After a short re-cap of our Halloween trick or treat outing we dive into games, with Joe digging "Dirt 3", and Mitch finishing "Transformers: Devastation", as well as having a bit to complain about with Microsoft and their account systems. We then jump into TV with new shows "American Horror Story: Hotel", "Ash vs. The Evil Dead" and "Supergirl" as well as a bit more Transformers talk around "Robots In Disguise". Then Mitch goes to Imax for "The Walk" and Joe stays home to see the classic "To Ki...

With Halloween only a week away, on the show this month we look at some Halloween themed cartoon episodes, including "Fat Albert", "Invader Zim" and the very first Treehouse of Horrors from "The Simpsons". Before that we also talk "Frozen Freefall Snowball Fight", "Sleeping Dogs" and "Transformers: Devistation" on the Xbox 360, check out what's good and bad in the new Fall TV line-up, Mitch sees Kevin Smith live while Joe watches his latest movie "Tusk", Joe's gun knowledge in "Run All Night", t...

Inspired by the awesome comic "Hip Hop Family Tree" and the recent cinema release of the N.W.A. Bio-pic "Straight Outta Compton" we dive into rap and hip hop the way only two middle class, middle aged white boys from the suburbs can. We also look at other hip hop themed movies "Krush Groove", "Wild Style", "8-Mile", "Get Rich or Die Tryin'" and the Chris Rock spoof rapumentory "CB4". Before that we manage to sneak in a bit of gaming with "Peggle Blast" and Season 2 of "WWE Supercard" on ios, dis...

This month no rain, and no topic either, but that doesn't mean we didn't have a lot to talk about. We hit "Angry Birds 2" on IOS and old Arcade classis on the MAME emulator before diving into TV with more from kisscartoon.me, magical tales in "Penn & Teller: Fool Us", FBI fun with "The Blacklist" and mad mexicans battling it out with "Lucha Underground: Ultima Lucha". We then have a giant list of films to tackle, with features "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation", "Ant-Man", "Nightcrawler", "T...

Despite the rain being so loud on the night of recording we could hardly hear ourselves think, we managed to cover a bit of gaming with Mitch slipping back down the "Peggle" rabbithole, before moving to TV where we talk "WWE Tough Enough", more "Veronica Mars", "Carnivale", the mini-series "Houdini", and Joe dives into the website Kissanime.me and a cartoon called "Wanna Be The Strongest In The World" which he assures us is not porn. After that Mitch brings in a bit of culture with the theatre p...

It's "Cult Movie Challenge" time again, and this time around we look at 4 films from 1957: "12 Angry Men", "Funny Face", "The Seventh Seal" and "Bridge On The River Kwai". It was a mixed bag, with very mixed opinions on these classics. Before that we also look at this year's E3 news, Joe gets stuck into more ios gaming with "Clash of Clans" and Mitch finishes "Lollipop Chainsaw" on the 360. In TV we go non-spoiler "Game of Thrones", hotpants crazy for "Supergirl", and meta Dan Harmon in "Communi...

The nerds as happy this month as they have both finished 2 games on Xbox 360, "Far Cry 4" and "Force Unleashed 2" for Mitch, and "Sacred 3" and the 2013 "Tomb Raider" for Joe. After that they talk TV, with Season 5 of "Game of Thrones", Season 2 of "Silicon Valley", the ESPN Doco "E:60 - Behind the Curtain WWE NXT", and comic book shows. Mitch was inspired after watching "The Jinx" last month to delve into more true crime, so he disects "The Staircase", and Joe subjects his kids to 80's "He-Man ...

It's a big one this month, as we discuss Joe's new iOS addiction, "SimCity Buildit", more of Mitch's adventures in "Far Cry 4" and whether Netflix will hurt pay TV super heavy weight, FOXTEL. We also talk TV with the dissapointing "Glee" finale, the equally disappointing "Saturday Night Live 40th Anniversary Special", and the new show "Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt". We then go spoiler heavy on Wrestlemania XXXI and Raw the night after, including the best sign ever on a WWE show. In movies we look a...

After taking a month off we're back to discuss our recent outing to the Soundwave Festival, then it's back to the usual format with a chat about retro gaming, more "Far Cry 4" from Mitch and a little mention of WWE Supercard. We then talk TV, with Mitch checking out two new shows, "Last Man On Earth" and "The Odd Couple" and Joe trying "Better Call Saul", as well as some more reality TV highlights, and a history lesson on Killer Bees via Leonard Nimoy and "In Search Of..." before a discussion on...

After the massive undertaking that was the 12 Days of Christmas Specials we're back to normal this month. It's been a long 12 days as we counted down to today, Christmas Eve, but we made it. So what better way to celebrate than with our Jesus, Dan Harmon, and the Community Season 3 epsiode "Regional Holiday Music". Not only is it a Christmas themed episode, it is a dig at the TV show "Glee", features Donald Glover rapping, and has Alison Brie dressed in a sexy elf outfit too! All our Christmases have come at once! There is no place we could find to link it online unfortunately, unless you have Hulu,...

It's the penultimate day of the 12 Days of Christmas Specials, so Mitch dug deep to pick this Invader Zim Christmas Special "The Most Horrible X-Mas Ever". Joe had never seen Invader Zim, but enjoyed the absurdity of it all. We watched this one from Mitch's DVD collection, but it is available on Vimeo if you want to watch it too!

Much like yesterday with Mitch picking "Astro Boy", today we go with one of Joe's favourites in "The Simpsons". There were a ton of Christmas themed episodes to choose from, but we went with the Season 7 epsiode "Marge Be Not Proud" that revolves around Bart wanting the latest video game for Christmas, but Marge not wanting to get it for him. It's hard to find full Simpsons eps online, but we did find an editied version on Vimeo if you want to check it out for yourself....

Both of us were big Astro Boy fans when we were kids, so it made sense for us to pick this episode from the 1980's run called "The Light Ray Robot" for Day 9. Sure, it doesn't have a lot of Christmas in it, but it is set at Christmas time, and that's enough of a link for us. Besides, Mitch needed an excuse to talk about his love of Osamu Tezuka's works anyway. We watched the English dubbed version from Mitch's DVD collection, but there is a Japanses one with English subs on the official Tezuka c...

We said we were going to find some obscure Christmas specials for our 12 Days of Christmas, and you can't get much more obscure than this one. All the way from Czechoslovakia in 1960 we bring you "Pulnocni Prihoda", or as it translates to in English, "The Midnight Adventure". It is a stop-motion animation of a little wooden train put out by the arival of a shiny new electric one on Christmas night. We're really not sure where Mitch dug this up from, as we couldn't even find it online to put up a...

"A Very Venture Christmas" was one of the extras for the DVD release of the first season of the great Adult Swim series, "The Venture Brothers" and is our choice for Day 7 of the 12 Days of Christmas Specials. It has lots of very wrong moments, and that's why we love it so much! Check out the link here to Vimeo if you want to watch it for yourself before we spoil all the fun.

The Charles in Charge Season 1 episode "Home For The Holidays" was our pick for Day 6 of the 12 Days of Christmas Specials. Mainly due to the fact that we needed a bit of palate cleaner after yesterdays topic. Although we didn't remember this specific episode, we both had fond memories of the series from watching it as kids. This episode is on Youtube, but the rip is a bit of a strange one, click the link here to see for yourself.

Who would have though that our favourite special so far for the 12 Days of Christmas Specials would be this strange little stop-motion annimaton to a William S. Burroughs story of a junky trying to score a fix on a bleak New York Christmas Day, but that's exactly what "The Junky's Christmas" delivered. We must admit, we were both pretty ignorant to the work of Burroughs, but even if you are too I'm sure you will enjoy this one! We do pretty much disect the whole story, so if you don't want spoil...

The Jim Henson production from 1977 "Emmet Otter's Jug Band Christmas" was our pick for Day 4, and although this is the first time watching it for both of us, we're told it's a Christmas staple for lots of people. Maybe it's a bit too "of it's time" as we didn't really think it held up, but we did enjoy the technical aspects to it. Much like yesterday, there are a couple of versions of this, we watched the one with the added Kermet The Frog intros, but could only find one full version on Youtube...

For day 3 went went back, way back! All the way to 1913 for this Russian stop motion short called "The Insects' Christmas". Neither of us knew anything about this film, or the mysterious film maker, Ladislas Starevich, so we had a bit of fun reading his wiki page. Considering the age of this one, we were impressed with how well the stop-motion holds up, which you can see for yourself on YouTube.

For Day 2 of our "12 Days of Christmas Specials" specials we went back to the 80's to watch the Christmas cross-over episode, "He-Man & She-Ra A Christmas Special". Both of us were big He-Man fans back in the day, so in this ep we make up for the fact that we didn't think this held up by discussing our Masters of the Universe toy collections and childhood memories. Mitch also lets rip on his least favourite charactor too. Again, we go in depth into the plot, so if you want to watch it for yo...

As a special treat in the lead up to Christmas, over the next 12 days we will be reviewing a different Christmas themed TV special per day in our 12 Days of Christmas Specials minisodes. Some will be shows we held fondly in our youth, others like today's episode will be new to us episodes that Mitch stumbled across while trawling youtube. So today, we watched the Matt Berry Christmas musical spoof, "AD/BC: A Rock Opera". We do go over the plot in detail, so if you don't want spoilers, maybe watc...
