Episode description

On this episode of the MacGuffin Guild, we're going to prowl the streets of Scotland in search of unsuspecting prey and get Under the Skin.

This 2013 Horror, Sci-Fi, Thriller stars Scarlett Johansson, Michael Moreland, Jeremy McWilliams and Adam Pearson. Directed by Jonathan Glazer. With a killer score by Mica Levi.

We're gonna talk about the works of Jonathan Glazer, nudity by A-Listers, Mike's suspense building skills, capturing real human emotion in film and Sandstorm by Darude.

We'll dig into Scarlett Johansson's meme, the jettisoned hooker radar theory, and the wild shit that goes on in the insect kingdom.

We'll also get into meat conveyor belts, bothy's, the mythology of Selkies, human nature, the score by Mika Levi, and one of the most difficult horror scenes to watch... ever.

I'm Pat Dougherty and as always I'll be joined by my fellow MacGuffin's Justin Jones and Mike Antonio.  Our theme song was written and performed by Jordan Vincent. Come with us on a journey to the heart of what it means to be human, extraterrestrial - or something in between. Under the Skin.
