Episode description

Today I interview Dr. Beitman, a psychiatrist turned researcher and author of Meaningful Coincidences: How and Why Synchronicity and Serendipity Happen. Today’s talk focused on how we all experience meaningful coincidences, serendipity, and synchronicity if we care to notice them.

There was so much about this discussion I loved; everything from listening to Bernard’s description of how his deep love for a pet and his father paved the path towards him writing this book, to his description of the psychosphere as a means of human connection, to our discussion of the importance of belief, faith, and trust especially as it relates to the phrase "all things happen for a reason" and how those going through deep grief may find peace and solace in this knowing.

You will find more of his essays on Psychology Today’s blog site. See one of his articles below as well as other important links to his work.
