Hello again Gooners and welcome to the podcast. We've got a great show lined up for you because this is the only podcast with more bite than a Peter Story tackle and more flair than a Charlie George FA Cup winning goal against Liverpool at Wembley. Just in case you don't know, I'm Joe and today we're talking transfers, torment and torrid times in the Bernabeu. Let's jump straight into it. Without further ado, here's segment one, the Isak temptation.
So the summer transfer windows creeping ever closer and, surprise, surprise, Arsenal are going striker shopping. But not just for anyone. According to the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano, we're definitely signing a striker this summer. And word on the marble halls is that Alexander Isaac is top of Mikul Arteta's wishlist. Now, if you watched Isaac this season, and I know you did, this isn't a shock. Ian Wright was on the Kelly and Wrighty show recently and, mate, he didn't hold back.
He said watching Isaac against Saliba and Gabriel was torture. The man ran them ragged, backing into them, running beyond, linking the play. The guy did everything. And you know what righty reckons? He's convinced our own centre-back duo have gone to Arteta and said, boss, go get this guy. We're done dealing with him. Time for a stat attack. Let's break down the carnage. Isak versus Arsenal this season. Three games, two goals, six shots, five shots on target, three key passes, but the real pain.
It's the stuff you can't measure, his movement, his presence, the way he makes world-class defenders look ordinary. That's a nightmare no stat sheet can fix. I say all that, but he wasn't at his best against Manchester United the other day. But as my old pal, ex-professional footballer Barry Rowan always quips, I had a bad game once. Anyway, it's stuff of tactical dreams. Now imagine him at Arsenal.
Isak up top, Martinelli wide, Saka cutting in from the right, and Odegaard feeding balls like it's a pub quiz and he's got all the answers. That's a title-winning frontline. Simple as. But here's the twist. Liverpool are sniffing around too, so it's not just about wanting Isak. It's about winning the race for him. And if we pull it off, I'm saying it now. Arsenal are favourites for the Premier League next season. Now let's move on to the Madrid mind games. Yes, before we get lost in summer
dreams, we've got a war to finish in Spain. Real Madrid are talking big. Marcelo says the players are confident. Rudiger's shouting, vamos remontada. And Vinicius is already eyeing Wednesday like it's Christmas Eve, apparently. But here's the thing, we dismantled them in the first leg. Michael Arteta coached Carlo Ancelotti off the pitch. Thomas Partey's calm. The squad's locked in. and we just need to play our game. So let's wrap this
up with a final thought Isak's the future. The Bernabeu is the present. But one thing's clear. Arsenal are acting like a big club on and off the pitch. And whether it's signing strikers or silencing Spaniards, we're coming for everything. That's it from me, Gunas.
