That has hundreds of volunteers waiting in the wings to collect thousands of items that were meant for the dumpster, giving them a
new home for those in need. Folks who over at the Household Goods say in years past they've collected everything from microwaves, fans, lamps, storage containers, and towels. In one year alone, the organization says it collected more than forty five hundred items during BC move out on the campus. Overnight tonight, more clouds persist, a couple of passing showers on the way, with low's in the fifties. Mainly cloudy skies again Tomorrow, better chance of rain during the daylight hours, with highs once again in the mid sixties. For most of the area. It is a little bit warmer and muggier.
On Friday, we'll notice that we've got a feel of a sultry summer day despite the clouds and the possibility of a couple of showers, and in fact, even this weekend looks like we cannot rule out the possibility of showers and maybe a pop up thunderstorm as well. skies at six oh five on this Wednesday morning. Testimony is expected to resume once again this morning at the Karen Reid trial in Norfolk Superior Court, but CBS News Boston's Christina Rex tells us a lot of talk centers on who will not be called as witnesses.
There's a growing belief that the Commonwealth will not call these three men to the stand, Brian Albert, Brian Higgins, and former trooper Michael Profter. The three were key figures in Karen Reid's first trial. Defense attorneys claimed Brian Higgins or Albert could have killed to John O'Keeffe w b Z Legal analyst Catherine Loftus explains that prosecutors are likely taking a completely new approach by not calling them, leaving it up to defense attorneys to call those controversial witnesses.
If you want to put on your case and you want to blame people, you can do it. I don't need them for my case.
But what about Michael Proctor? How could the state put on a case where the lead investigator doesn't testify, You run the risk of looking like you hid in the ball to the jury. If prosecutors don't call any of these witnesses to the stand, defense attorneys will have the option to call them.
The new witness is expected to testify this morning after the jury hears three full consecutive days from Massachusetts State Police Sergeant Jury Buchannic, a Boston City Hall attorney, has been sidelined, and he claims it's because of retaliation. John Houghton, the staff lawyer at City Hall, has been placed on paid leave after it's discovered he's running for mayor. Houghten has been with the city for almost twenty years, most of that time as counsel for the Treasury to Apartment.
He tells The Globe this morning that city officials told him his sidelining was because of his run for mayor. Houghton is one of more than a dozen candidates who've pulled papers to challenge Mayor Michelle Wu Happening right now, Israeli air strikes bombard homes in northern Gaza, and as the dust settles from the most recent attack, dozens are
said to be dead, among them several children. The latest round of blasts come as President Trump continues a Middle East tour with a chip on his shoulder against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahoo installed ceasefire talks in the region. Meantime, Israeli defense officials are now admitting, at least privately, that people remaining in Gaza are on the brink of starvation. Meantime, President Trump meets with Syria's new president on the sidelines
of an Arab summit in Saudi Arabia this morning. It completes a remarkable comeback for the Republic, which is emerging from the shadows of the Asad families more than half century dictatorship. The meeting is of the Hello variety and comes a day after the President announced he'd lift US sanctions to give Syria a chance at greatness. Pope Leo is on Instagram.
