Well, we started the week with summer vibes, and while it won't be as warm as what we saw on Monday,

your Tuesdays shaping up to be another good one. You continue to have warm weather over the next couple of days before a big cool down late in the week. That is WBZ ACI weather meteorologist heathers z are. Highs today topping around around seventy degrees with plenty of sunshine. We're even warmer tomorrow. The cool down doesn't start until Thursday, and we're mostly staying dry before we head to the weekend. Well at six oh one, Judge Beverly Canoni will be

back for the retrial of Karen Reid come January. Norfolk Superior Court confirming the update as both sides are preparing for a retrial that is said to begin on January twenty seventh, after the mistrial earlier this year. Now at the same time, Karen Reid is also appealing a lower court's decision to keep two of the three most serious charges against her. That case is at the Supreme Judicial Court, and Reed is getting defense help from the ACLU in

her bid for appeal. Many parents who say they're in favor of an age requirement for social media WBZ is James Johas and Charles Down with more on a new survey and what parents in the Commonwealth have to say.

Parents in Massachusetts then kids should be at least fourteen years old to youth social media. That's according to a nationwide survey asking parents on a state by state basis, what age is it safe for children to have access to it. Larry is a parent and thinks there should be some limits.

We were feeling like a summer afternoon on Monday to begin the week. While it's not going to be as warm as what we saw on Mondays, certainly another beautiful afternoon ahead of us here as we are looking at sunshine, a few clouds, high of right around seventy degrees if you're on north and west of town, you could be getting back into the mid seventies clear and then down to be low fifty five for tonight. Much more of

the same tomorrow. In fact, we're even a bit warmer and Greater Boston with a high of seventy five degrees and then on Wednesday night into Thursday might see a few drops of rain, a few showers, and then Thursdays should be okay. We'll start to see the cool off begin down into the sixties, and then by Friday, plenty of sunshine, but we'll be down into the upper fifties. Right around sixty is all we're getting out of Friday. But all in all, we are looking at some great

weather right now for late October. It's six oh six. And speaking of all this weather, how about another potential day to head to the beach.

This time of year, the seagulls usually have America's oldest public beach all to themselves, but not when the weather is like this. What do you think of this weather?

I think it's fantastic. I hope we get a few while we get a few more days. It is because I want to keep my ten I'm going to Saint Lucia in November.

Six SO seven The Boston City Council trying to fix a major strain on the budget the expected record breaking spending on police overtime.

With police overtime cost in the city more than one hundred million dollars a year, the Boston City Council is looking for ways to rate in the spending on ot City Council President Ruci luis in.

Well, you know, we've seen the cost of overtime balloon year after year, and so I think it's important for us to continue to have these conversations because it's also something with the public demands. We've also seen time and time again that overtime is so often a subject to fraud into abuse, and so we just want to tamper down on all of that to make sure that we are being fiscally responsible and protecting the public.
