This is WBZ, Boston's news radio. We defining local news.
Good morning, six o'clock and a get ready for impact kind of morning here in Boston. It is Thursday, and we've got cloudy skies in forty eight degrees and some of the rain is now starting to pop up here and there. The News at six brought to us by you're a New England Toyota dealer, your hybrid all wheel drive headquarters. Thanks for being here today. I'm Jeff Brown and Boston. You're being sent to the minor leagues.
Windy and raw today, with rain heavy at times, particularly this after the early tonight. The temperature staying in the forties.
At is WZ ACTU weather meteorologist Joe Lundberg. Gradual improvement begins tomorrow. But as wbz's Drew m'holland tells us, first thing, brace yourself.
Oh Jeffrey, as I walk to get my morning coffee, it's a little bit brisk out here. Actually the sky is pretty spooky too to start the morning. Those clouds are a little a little bit scary, but that's kind of what we're dealing with today and the first part of this Memorial Day weekend.
Anyway, a lot going on in the sea too.
I know this Red Sauce game tonight, a lot of graduations of course, Boston calling. But I'm an optimistic guy, Jeff Right. So here's the thing. You can let the weather get you down. It's all gonna be fine. Sometimes the rain even adds to things, right, it makes a little more fun.
Who knows.
That's my take on it.
Anyway, The clouds are spooky though, no doubt about it. From Medford Drew mohollan WBZ, Boston's news radio.
Yeah, thanks for nothing, drew another all nighter on Capitol Hill and nothing to show for it. Yet the House continues to burn the candle at both ends to close the deal on President Trump's Big, Beautiful budget bill, now out of committee and headed to a full House vote, but still there are holdouts among the GOP. The President has tried a tush push of sorts with reluctant members with threats that failure to jump on board might impact
their future in the political party. The budget would slash medicaid funding as a major way to pay for an extension and expansion of tax cuts introduced during the president's first administration. A vote is expected sometime later this morning. As America relives its revolutionary past, you can celebrate in your own way.

The Dallas Stars battled back to steal game one over the Oilers NBA Eastern Conference Finals. The Pacers top the Knicks to take a one game to none lead, and the speculation that Bill Belichick is about to marry a woman almost fifty years younger than he hits the high seas.
After a New York Times report this week that someone close to Jordan Hudson said her and Bill were engaged to be married. There's now photos surface sing on TMZ showing Bill Belichick's beloved boat, Doctor De Harbor with a fresh new code of paint and a fresh new name. It's now called one plus eight Rings. The boat's previous name was eight Rings and owed to his eight Super Bowl wins as the Pats head coach and the Giants defensive coordinator. So now it's called one plus eight Rings. Now.
There's been no official comment yet from the couple, but of course the speculation on the internet is running wild. Jim mcka WBZ Boston's news radio.
Well, here it comes. We've been talking about this for several days, and today is the day. This major nor'easter that is better designed for November, quite frankly, is going to hit us just as we head into the holiday weekend. And to put this into some sort of perspective, today's daytime high is not really going to get maybe in many locations two fifty degrees now one year ago today,
Sonny in eighty eight adi you like that, What a difference. Right, So today we've got everything but the kitchens being thrown at us. And if it's not raining where you are right now, it's about to and the rain will pick up an intensity right around noontime today, the heaviest of the downpours will be with us until around sunset tonight before we slowly begin to taper things off, and we
do emphasize the slow portion of that. This is going to be one of those days that will soon we will not soon forget, as the rain will come down anywhere between one and three inches of precipitation. Once it's out of the way, it is going to be a slow recovery. Tomorrow is much better in comparison, but still
under cloudy skies. Highs around sixty might see some sunshine on Saturday and even more on Sunday and Monday when temperatures get back to where they should be this time of year, which is in the upper sixties to low seventies. Right now, it is forty eight and cloudy skies in Boston at six oh six on this Thursday morning. And on top of all that, one of the busiest travel days of the season is now underway.
Getting out before the norrister rolls in. And that's the game plan for many folks who showed up to Logan early this morning.
It's actually funny. I was supposed to go in the night and I saw the store and I was like the earliest slide out. I gotta get out of here.
So yeah, that's Hallie who's flying to see family in Minneapolis, where the weather won't be necessarily the best, but much better than Boston's.
Looking like sixties and sunny because they had the rain for the past three days. So I'm very excited to not be here for whatever is coming.
Henry is also planning to get some swings in as well as some swimming, golf, beach, you know, good Memorial Day weekend activities. Yeah, we're all very happy for him and Logan James Rojas w v Z Boston, some news radio, and for.
The rest of us, pizza is being put to the test, asking.
You massa Ammer's student who makes the best pizza on campus? And Pizza Joe. Yeh, Pizza Joe.
He's a Joe Joe.
I love you Pizza Joe.
So hey, Joe, thank you. I knew I had to meet the legend himself. Hold on, Joe Dennerona is his real name, but everyone calls him hamp Pizza Joe because that's his Instagram handle. It's come here, just want to take a picture.
Didn't even need the.
Pizza now, whatever you're picturing a Pizza Guy my post on Instagram. Imagine it's directed by Michael Bay. I'm talking explosions, stunts, superheroes, and some pizza.
I made my special a Luttela pizza.
So his popularity on campus is partially about creativity and comedy, but most importantly comfort.
Anyone can make a pizza, but I make people happy with a pizza.
It's different.

Radio, And remember you can check out Matt's story on wbz's TikTok page. As always, this is for all the lonely people, and a new survey shows men, we're talking to you. A new Gallup poll finds one quarter of all men in the United States between the ages of fifteen and thirty four say they're lonely. That's way more than the eighteen percent of women who say the same thing. The survey takes the pulse of dozens of high income countries and also reveals that American men are more lonely
than their counterparts elsewhere on the planet. This contradicts prior studies, which have revealed time and time again that loneliness is about the same among men and women.
