This is WBZY, Boston's news radio re defining local news. Good morning, six o'clock. Hazy sunshine again in Boston. It is a very mild sixty three and muggy degrees as we get started this morning. The News at six brought to us by your New England Toyota Dealer, your hybrid all wheel drive headquarters. Thanks for being with us on this Thursday morning. I'm Jeff Brown, and you might already need to towel off rather haunt and human today with sun and genitals of clowns. We'll have a late day

evening thunderstorm and a few spots northwest of Boston. That is wbz AKI weather meteorologist Heather's air nineties today, still muggy, some rain expected to move in tomorrow. The juice is not worth the squeeze. At the airport, the TSA warns travelers not to use USB ports at the terminals to power up your phones. It might get you into some serious trouble. Many of us have been there.

Speaker 2

We're at the airport, flight gets delayed and we're killing time on our phone when we realize we have to charge up before we take off. But don't be so quick to plug into that USB port. The TSA says, that could expose you to malware.

Speaker 3

Well, that's good today coming out to travel.

Speaker 1

I had no idea that you would you be hacked like that.

Speaker 3

Yeah, I've seen little USB plugs with little chips in them hidden, so I'm not surprised that it's starting to become a lot more publicly available.

Speaker 2

Instead, the TSA says, use the wall charger adapter or a travel compliant battery pack. Also, don't use free public Wi Fi, especially when doing online banking or buying things pretty unsecure. L Logan James rohas WBZ Boston Snooze Radio.

Red Sox are off today after a walk off win at Fenway Park. Red Sox and Yankees in the Bronx tomorrow night for a weekend series sudden death wins for the Oilers take Game one of the Stanley Cup Final over the Florida Panthers, and the NBA Finals begin tonight. It's Oklahoma City and the Indiana Pacers in their first ever postseason matchup for all the NBA marbles. It was the cusp of Summer in nineteen sixty eight. Just after

midnight on this day, fifty seven years ago. Robert F. Kennedy was gunned down by an assassin's bullet on the presidential campaign trail in Los Angeles and immediately after winning the California primary. Shots fired by Sir Hans Sirhan became the latest act of violence in what turned into a very deadly year. Kennedy was just about to become the Democrats nominee to take on Richard Nixon for the White House. His death followed the killing of civil rights icon Martin

Luther King. By month. Kennedy's opportunity to win the White House appeared when President Lyndon Johnson dropped out. As for the killer, Sir Hans Sirhan remains in prison. He's been denied parole seventeen times. President Trump takes it out on Harvard University once again.

Speaker 4

Mister Trump has signed a proclamation banning visas for foreign students to study at Harvard, in an escalating dispute with the elite university. The directive said that Harvard had a history of foreign ties with potential security implications and failed to supply sufficient information about students illegal activities. It also said that many agitators behind anti Semitic incidents were foreign students.

Speaker 1

As the BBC's Danielle Yellowtzka, the President sideswipes a recent court ruling to prevent this block by using emergency powers. It'll put a six month hold on all foreign student visas for those who intend to come to Harvard to study. The President calls on his Attorney general to investigate whether former President Biden's administration tried to cover up his mental state while in office.

Speaker 5

Trump has said multiple times he wants to look into the Biden pardons. Was Biden in the right state of mind when he issued those pardons when he left office? Now, what Trump has said is he believes those pardons could be null and void. He's not going to recognize those part. It's not clear that he can really do that.

Speaker 1

That's ABC's Catherine Folders. This is all about the use of the auto pen and points to the allegations of the former president's cognitive decline. Former President Joe Biden's as let me be clear, it was always me in charge. It's already one of those mornings that has a summer

like field to the air. If the air conditioners are not in your window yet, better put them in pretty early this morning, because we're going to be soaring into the nineties later today, temperatures hazy, hot, and humid will be in the upper eighties even at the beaches. Today inland locations will top ninety degrees. This is brief, but it will be potent because overnight tonight we're partly cloudy, still mild, sixty seven degrees and still muggy. Tomorrow, by

the way, not as hot. We'll see temperatures in the eighties, but we're also going to see more clouds on the increase, and that's going to bring the thread of showers and thunderstorms tomorrow afternoon moving into the area. Looks like some lingering rain is going to hang around on Saturday to kick off too, but it doesn't look like it's going

to be here all day long. On Saturday. We'll see some sunshine later in the day and temperatures in the seventies, and it looks a little bit better on Sunday to wrap up the weekend as well. Right now in Boston this Thursday morning, we've got hazy skies sixty three degrees here in the city. Summer officially arrives two weeks from tomorrow, but for all intents and purposes, it's already here.

Speaker 6

We've got a scorch, you're on deck, hot and humid.

Speaker 1

They're kind of weather.

Speaker 3

I love it. It's awesome. It's a long time coming. Me was a really cold month. June finally brings a little bit of heat.

Speaker 1

And when it gets steamy, they escaped to the beach.

Speaker 6

It brings a huge sense of relief. You always get a cool breeze coming off the water and you open your windows at night.

Speaker 3

It's beautiful. Perfect day to take a well deserved personal day and head right to the beach with a good book, good beach chair, good book, and enjoy the day.

Speaker 2

Chris Vaalm a WBZ Boston's.

Speaker 1

News radio, don't get too comfortable this summer, because it's always safety first.

Speaker 6

Public Health Commissioner Robbie Goldstein is reminding people to use common sense precautions like preventing bites from ticks and mosquitoes by using repellents with EPA ingredients and wearing long sleeve shirts.

Speaker 7

And one of the easiest things to do is when you come in from being outside, to do a really fair check to look at any exposed skin and to see if there are any ticks present.

Speaker 6

When it comes to water and pool safety officials say use the buddy system, keep a close eye on children and only swim in designated areas, and to reduce the risk of heat exhaustion or stroke dphs, drink plenty of water, wear sunscreen, and take breaks from the sun. Goldstein says, all of this can ensure a fun but safe summer. Brooke McCarthy, WBZ Boston's News Radio.
