Here's what's happening now. The United States has attacked three sites in Iran, inserting itself into Israel's war aimed at destroying Iran's nuclear program. Speaking from the White House, President Trump last night asserting that Iran's key nuclear sites were taken out.
Iran's key nuclear and Richmond facilities have been completely and totally obliterated around the bully of the Middle East must now make peace. If they do not, future attacks would be far greater and a lot easier.
There have been no independent damage assessment says yet, but satellite images released this morning show damage at the entrance to the four to Doh nuclear site within the hour. John's foreign minister said diplomacy is not an option at the moment after the US attack, and added he will travel to Moscow tomorrow to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Only one Republican congressman has voiced opposition to the president's action.
The rest appear to be falling in line. While Democratic Senator John Fetterman also voicing support.
The reaction was mostly along party lines. Republican Senator Lindsey Graham posted good, this was the right call, fly fight win. House Speaker Mike Johnson posted the President made the right call and did what he needed to do. The top Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, Representative Jim Himes, called the president's action a clear violation of the Constitution, which grants the power to declare war explicitly to Congress, while
Vermont Democratic Senator Bernie Sanders called it grossly unconstitutional. Wendy Kenyon CBS News Washington.
There is also a strong criticism from the Massachusettsville legation lawmakers, calling the president's action unconstitutional. Senator Elizabeth Warren posting on X right before the President addressed the country last night, the US should not wage war against Iran. The president's bombing is unconstitutional, and that only Congress can declare war. In his statement, Senator Ed Markey said a diplomatic solution remains the best way to prevent Iran from getting a
nuclear weapon. Congresswoman I had a pressley posting on X the country doesn't need another deadly endless War. Congressman Jim McGovern said Congress must return to Washington to stop the US involvement in Iran. With temperatures heading into the nineties today, Boston Mayor Michelle Woo declaring a heat emergency in the city that will last into Tuesday.
But temperatures and real fuels expected to be close to the triple digits. The City of Boston is taking steps to keep residents cool and safe. City splash pads and pools are open for residents to cool often. Boston Centers for Youth and Families, buildings and public library branches will be open as cooling centers as well. The mayor is urging residents to stay hydrated, avoid being outside for long periods of time, and to be on the lookout for
kids or pets left alone in vehicles. It's also important to be on the lookout for signs of heat exhaustion like heavy sweating, clammy skin dizziness, nausea, or muscle aches. Staying safe in the extreme heat is also a community effort. Make sure to check in on your friends, family, and neighbors, especially if they're older or have disabilities. Much better, just sun and clouds, less humid hides in the low and mid eighties. So right now it's dry on the Cape. It is sixty seven degrees in Falmouth. Starting to see some showers around the Framingham area right now it's seventy one getting some rain,
and Lawrence where it is seventy two. And here in Boston right now with the cloud cover seventy three degrees at six oh five. The pilot killed in a small plane crash in Beverly last week has been identified. Here's wbz's Mike Macklin.
The family of Jeffrey Andrews say they are devastated by his untimely death and are heartbroken. The pilot of the plane the crash just moments after ten take off from Beverly Airport was a scientist at MIT's Lincoln Laboratory, a graduate of Lehigh University with a PhD from Purdue. His family says he loved flying and was an arabatic pilot who was training to be a flight instructor. Andrews had
many other interests, including music and singing. His wife, Gentry, says Andrews was also excited about the upcoming birth of their first child. Boston Police identifying the victim of a deadly shooting last week. Twenty one year old Tail Vernisse of Hyde Park was found last Thursday night on Ruthven Street near the Dorchester Roxbury Line. Pronounced dead at a local hospital. Police asking anyone with information to contact them. With increasing food prices and stagnant wages, more more Americans struggling to put food on the table.

New Today's BAA ten k road race is still on despite the heat emergency, which is going into place as of eleven this morning, but it is limited to adult runners. All youth events have been canceled. Runners not wishing to run in the race can defer their spot in the race until next year.
