Well, it is the middle of December and we are certainly feeling like it's risk and cold today with sunshine much of the time, and it will stay cold through the weekend. That is WVZAKI weather meteorologist Brian Thompson and telling us we can expect sunshine to stick around. But also these Chile temperatures were in the thirties all weekend long with
sunshine as well. The latest now from the Karen Reid murder case testimony at Norfolk Superior Court, and the prosecution is trying to disqualify a dog bite expert from testifying and reads upcoming retrial.
Sucial prosecutor Hank Brennan grilled defense expert doctor Marie Russell on her experience on wounds.
Have you studied a collection of wounds when people fell backwards onto the ground.
I've seen hundreds of people that have fallen backwards.
She testified during Karen Reid's first criminal trial, saying she believes John O'Keeffe was attacked by a dog and not hit by Reid's SUV. The prosecution filed the motion to try and prevent her from testifying in the second trial, saying she's not an expert. Defense attorney Robert Alessi asked her about her findings when it came to O'Keefe's sweatshirt.
Well taken in totality with the other images.
I believe that these are all the result of multiple dog bites.
The prosecution claims Reid hit O'Keefe with her SUV and left them and this snow to die well. The defense says he was attacked by a dog and she was framed. Brooke McCarthy WBZ, Boston's news radio.
Well Cambridge police sending out the warnings of a phone scam where the voice you hear is someone impersonating a police officer. The messages people are getting is someone pretending to be a cop telling you that you've missed jury duty need to pay a large sum of money to avoid jail time there and then instructions for the person to deposit funds at a specific location and deliver the
receipt to the Cambridge Police. As always, never give your personal information over the phone if you do have any information on the scam or if you get the call. Cambridge Police have an anonymous tip line. With holiday celebrations comes holiday gifts. Some advice this morning for people to look in to get those special items to their end destination on time.
Sharon Pasco has been accident free and heard thirty five years of delivering for ups.
The News Shop early, it gets shipped early.
That's the best way and you get everything on time.
Good afternoon, we have a delivery for you. Thank you.
And some other advice to get everything where it needs to go, like this mug for my family. Make sure to use the right packaging to help reduce weight. Envelopes are usually less expensive than boxes and print two copies of the lab but one for the outside of the box and one for the inside as a backup just in case something happens to it. Nancy Chin, CBS News.

Most of us are in the twenties and feeling like the teams certainly one of those mornings you're gonna want to bundle up, and it's gonna be one of those weekends where you're gonna want to bundle up if there are a little brief reprieve of some sixty degree temperatures and range hours this week, we are off to a pretty chilly weekend, but a nice crisp winter forecast. Plenty

WBZ News Radio. I have a new administration in Washington. Some LGBT legal groups say they have been flooded with requests.
There's a real sense of fear in the transgender community locally and around the country.
The incoming administration has promised that it will initiate changes in federal law that require people to identify only with their birth sex.
Senior attorney Chris Urgel at Boston based Glad Law says many are concerned the new administration might make their transition, so they're rushing to update things like their legal names and gender markers on ID forms. GLAD Law has a service aimed at helping people navigate the process.
Last month we saw three times as many intakes as we did the same month in the previous year.
Groups like GLAD and states like Massachusetts arguing up for potential legal fights around trans issues. Downtown. I'm Madison Rogers, WBZ, Boston's news radio.
He extended the invite, but appears Chinese President Sheishin Ping will not be attending the inauguration of President elect Donald Trump on January twenty at the Chinese zoned newspaper, The South China Morning Post cited historical precedent and diplomatic protocol as the reason that President she probably would not be attending. It's believed mister Trump is also reaching out to other
world leaders about attending his inauguration. Christmas tree sellers are in the middle of their busy season WBZ style Chaffe. I went to a popular one in Austin to see how things are going.
Harvard Aving, Austin is not usually known for its abundance of trees, except for these couple weeks in December.
We have two different types of trees here. We got Fraser and Baltom Fir.
When the Boston Christmas tree lot is open and Roaring Nate is walking me through the offerings. That's about a sixer right there is. His business has been brisker than normal because Thanksgiving was late and they open up the day after the season is condensed. They've been selling trees here for more than fifty years. The different trees have different pros and cons. Balsam Firs have that classic Christmas tree smell, but that's not what everybody needs.
So for folks that celebrate Orthodox Christmas, they tend to opt for the Frasers.
That's because Fraser first tend to last longer, and Orthodox Christmas is in January. Kyle Schaffel to WBZ Boston's News Radio.
