It's thirty six degrees in Boston at eleven o'clock, good Wednesday morning. I'm Madison Rodgers and we start this hour at the White House. This afternoon, President Trump is expected to announce a barrage of new tariffs that could have a huge impact on consumers and the economy.

President Trump is set to unveil his plan for another round of tariffs. He'll speak this afternoon in the Rose Garden, but so far, the White House hasn't revealed any details of what he's going to announce. The President has said for weeks these so called reciprocal tariffs are aimed at balancing trade deficits the US has with countries around the world, but economists are warning that American consumers will feel an impact prices going up on cars, clothing, food, and electronics.

The White House says Americans should trust the President in how he handled trade and tariff policies in his first term. Karen Traver's ABC News the White House.

Israel's defense minister says the military plans on taking large areas of Gaza and expanding its military operation.

Defense Mines Israel Katz announced when day that the IDF would be expanding operations in Gaza, saying that troops will move to clear areas of quote, terrorists and infrastructure, as well as capture extensive territory that will be added to the State of Israel security areas. It comes after Palestinian media reported a large wave of air strikes overnight around Rafa and carn Unis, as well as IDF troops advancing in the south. The operation comes almost a month since

a delicate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas broke down. The Defense Minister also called on Palestinians to overthrow Hamas and return Israeli hostages. Trent Murray Tel Aviv.

One group representing families of Israeli hostages, has put out a statement saying it is horrified by the news. More allegations are being made against National Security Advisor Mike walt A new report says he and his staff have reportedly been conducting government business on Gmail.

Sources tell The Washington Post Waltz had a schedule and other work documents sent to his Gmail. One if his senior aides use Gmail to discuss sensitive military positions and powerful weapons systems relating to an ongoing conflict, His colleagues responded, using government issued accounts, Gmail is far less secure than the Signal app, which Waltz and other Cabinet members recently used to discuss military operations in Yemen. Looking at the four day forecast, now it stays breezy out there this afternoon with sunshine followed by some increasing clouds. It's a high around forty in Boston, more like forty five. Heading Inland tonight, it's cloudy and breezy with some rain and spots. Watch for that to potentially mix in with some snow and sleep for a time, especially to the north and west of town. Thirty six for the low. Tomorrow's starts out with some rain and drizzle. It stays cloudy,

but it is milder out there. Sixty two for the high. Sixty two to sixty six is what we're looking at for Friday, and clouds will break for some sunshine. Unfortunately, it's not quite so nice for the weekend. Looks like rain for Saturday, with temperatures somewhere in the forties. Right now in Boston thirty six degrees and mostly sunny at eleven oh five. It is tariff time for the Trump administration.

The President is getting ready to roll out sweeping tariffs with trade partners around the globe, and locally, people are bracing for impact. As WBC's Jim McKay reports.

It is day two of Karen Reid's murder retrial in Dedham, and the jury selection process continues this morning. CBS News Boston's Christina Rax says today there are close to ninety prospective jurors there, and nearly half of them say they have already formed opinions in the case. Yesterday there were two jurors picked. Meantime, the buffer zone keeping protesters away from Norfolk Superior Court is now the subject of a lawsuit.

The Center for American Liberty just filed a civil suit against Judge Beverly Cononi, accusing her of trying to silence her critics. Family members confirm actor Val Kilmer has died.
