Don't forget the Cannoli's and fried kalamari. But though the food may be a big selling point, locals like Ramonic say it's about community.

Speaker 6

I enjoyed the families together and enjoy the festival. Everything is so beautiful, especially on Tuesday, so it's perfect. I live across the stream at the front of my home from my wind, I can see the whole festual, the kids, you know, playing around in the history.

At eleven oh one. As it makes its way west, Tropical Storm Erin is getting stronger. Forecasters at the National Hurricane Center expected to get to hurricane strength by tomorrow. We just got a brand new advisory from the NHC. They say right now the storm is located about eight hundred and ninety miles east of the Northern Leeward Islands. It is getting stronger. It is now up to sixty

mile an hour max sustained winds. It's moving to the west about seventeen miles an hour, so again it's putting along, making its way toward our neck of the woods. It is expected to slide north of Puerto Rico, and ABC's chief meteorologist Ginger Z says a couple of systems could keep it away from our neck of the woods.

Speaker 4

Take close attention as we see updates because every dvation west and east will.

Speaker 2

Impact you differently.

Speaker 4

But I can assure everyone along the East coast we will have really high surf and rip Currens.

Tomorrow, mark's President Trump and Russian President Putin's High Stake summit in Alaska, that you will talk about a potential end to the war in Ukraine, but Ukrainian President Vladimir Selensky won't be there for weeks.

Speaker 3

Putin has ignored repeated warnings from Trump to stop the violence, and Russian airstrikes on Ukraine have only intensified, taking a massive toll, the President admitting he probably will not be able to stop Russia from killing Ukrainian civilians.

Speaker 4

I've had a lot of good conversations with him.

Now, this ABC's Rachel Scott reporting there. The big story otherwise today is that it is very humid outside. It is rather sticky, and we've got temperatures in the eighties for most of us, So it is just going to feel like one of those days that's oppressively tropically hot, and even though we're not getting up into the nineties again, it's just enough to make it super uncomfortable. We have a mix of sunning clouds for the rest of the day,

maybe a couple of storms this afternoon and evening. Some could be custody at times, with a high in the mid eighties close to eighty though if you're on the capein Islands and I'm seeing right now most of you on the capein Islands are in the seventies then at for tonight, partly cloudy, low seventy, mid sixties for the inland suburbs. Friday mostly sunny, with the high year seventy

five in Boston, low eighties inland. Looking ahead to the weekend, sun much of the time on Saturday, highs in the eighties. A little bit warmer on Sunday, with some storms later in the day and a high in the nineties. Right now seventy nine at the Cape cog Canal in Bourne, west of Boston, eighty two in Sudbury north of Boston. In Seabrook, New Hampshire, it's eighty two, and in Boston at eleven oh five it is mostly cloudy and eighty three Taylor Swift is giving us more details about her

brand new album. This is the record I've been wanting to make for a very long time.

Speaker 4

So many people one point three million tuned into Swift's first appearance on her boyfriend Travis Kelcey's New Heights podcast to promote the Life of a show Girl. The live stream dropped out an hour and forty five minutes in. Among the reveals, Swift sobbed when she found out she would get her master recordings back.

Speaker 2

The Braintree American Little League team in Pennsylvania this afternoon. They're taking on players from all over the country. But the aim here is to win the World Series. Ten teams in all from around the nation are in Williamsport. There's a ton of excitement back here at home to support the boys from the South Shore several watch parties planned as the Brain Tree team takes on South Carolina. First pitch is set for three o'clock on Capitol Hill.

Some House Democrats are demanding answers from Attorney General Pam Bondi as after child sex trafficker Glene Maxwell was transferred to a minimum security prison.

Speaker 5

Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee sent Bondi a letter on Wednesday expressing concern about Maxwell, a close associate of the late Jeffrey Epstein. The transfer came two days after interviews between Maxwell and a top Justice Department official. Democrats say it looks like the Trump administration maybe trying to tamper with a witness by getting Maxwell to conceal President

Trump's relationship with Epstein. They want the Justice Department to turn over everything related to the transfer and Maxwell's interviews by August twenty sixth. I'm Tammy Trichio.

And King Richard's Fair recently moved, but a scammer didn't seem to get the memo. Police in Carver say this person has been advertising vendor space for this year's fare at the old address on Main Street. The fair recently moved over to the site of what used to be the Eaedeville Railroad theme Park on Pine Street. Officials say, look, if you see these ads, verify the website, and even better, just call King Richard's Fair directly and make sure this

is a legitimate vendor offer. You are now in the Loup. For news updates throughout the day, listen to WBZ Radio on the iHeartRadio app. I'm Nicole Davis, WBZ, Boston's news radio
