This is WBZ, Boston's news radio, redefining local news, Funny Sky, a little bit of fog, and seventy degrees in Boston at eleven oh one. I'm I'm a freedman. Here's what's happening. Senator stayed up late last night to narrowly advance President Trump's multi trillion dollar tax and spending cuts a bill. CBS's Christian Banadavez has the details.
The legislation extends tax cuts from President Trump's first term, removes taxes on tips and overtime, and increases spending for defense and border security. Opponents of the bill argue it would make significant cuts to Medicaid and food stamp programs.
It's a disaster because it betrays Republicans' own promises not to cut Medicaid, not to cut snap.
While fiscal conservatives such as Senator Paul are worried about what the bill could mean to the deficits, this bill.
Has about four to five hundred billion dollars worth a new spending. Now, why would you put forward a bill that has five hundred billion dollars worth of new spending if your goal was to fix the deficit. If Senate Republicans won't tell the American people what's in this bill, then Democrats are going to force this Chamber to read it from start to finish.
I object to delay the beat on the bill. Democrats have asked for the entire bill to be read aloud.
The table of contents of this Act is as follows, section.
A process that could take up to fifteen hours. Can he stand by davidas CBS News.
President Trump continuing to press lawmakers to get the bill on his desk by the fourth of July. The House passed its own version of the measure last month, with nonpartisan analysts estimating it would add about three trillion dollars to the national debt that already tops thirty six trillion dollars. Is good at the Public Market next to the Boston Public Garden. That's where I met le Lisa Cassidy from Lexington and I did a double take when I saw her unique business called Caden and Kai. So Cadan Kai is a sustainable fashion brand that I've created.
I started with bicycle tubes.
She makes jewelry out of recycled bicycle tubes, bracelets, necklaces, earrings. It's something she taught herself during COVID, I.
Spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to do this.
She figured it out. For the past several years has been growing. Her business goes to various outdoor markets and was at the Denver Fashion Week where a model showed off to Caden and Kai called the Wild Bicycle Tube Jewelry Collection. Carl Stevens WBZ Boston's News Radio.
