It's eleven o'clock and we're seeing some pretty heavy rain in some areas today and some misted thunderstorms too, at least this morning. I'll get to that. Good morning. I'm Laurie Kirby. It is October seventh, and today marks one year sends austin deadly terror attack on Israel, which started a new era of fighting in the Middle East. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyah, who was holding a special memorial ceremony to honor the nearly twelve hundred Israelis killed and

The one year anniversary of its ghastly surprise attack. Hamma's firing three rounds of rockets on Israel, some towards Tel Aviv, if intercepting most of them, but a couple hitting open fields and causing damage to a building and lightly injuring two Hamas, apparently trying to show it still has some military capabilities, but the numbers tell a different story. Last

October seventh, Hammas fired over four thousand rockets on Israel. Today, a year later, it's managed to fire less than twenty rockets Geordana Miller, ABC News Jerusalem.

Locally, a vigil is being held at the Wang Theater tonight at seven o'clock to mourn those killed and kidnapped in the attack on Israel and to honor the survivors and heroes. Jewish Philanthropies invites the greater Boston community to join them, and yesterday the Boston Coalition for Palestine held their own rally in March on the Common to show they stand for free Palestine. And a star player for the New England Patriots just appeared in Quincy District Court

with WBZ. Jim McKay was there and has this report.

Drill Peppers a judge at Quincy District Court calling the case of Jabriel Peppers before the court. He's facing a number of charges including assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, strangulation, and possession of the class B substance believe to be cocaine.

Peppers was arrested early Saturday morning at Braintree over a disturbance with two people. The victim was treated at the scene. The Patriots have said they are aware of the situation, but have no further comment at this time. Peppers has another court date on November twenty second, outside of Quincy District Court. A showdown over an MBTA housing law is underweight this morning, with Milton at the center of it. State Supreme Court Justices of inhering arguments over whether Attorney General Andrea Campbell can force Milton and other communities to rezone for multifamily housing. The MBTA Communities Act became law in twenty twenty one with a goal of adding multi family housing near public transit to help ease the state's housing crunch. While Milton voters voted no, and they say the state is the

one that overstepped its bounds. Keep it here for updates and coming up. Cambridge officials are working to make the bu Bridge Roundabout safer Right now. ACU weather is seeing some very intense rain showers on the north shore and on the south shore, but it's the Plymouth area now, little Bit and Quincy if I zoom in and on the north shore. We're talking Gloucester and maybe a little bit of rock Port getting some rain, and Salem, which

city getting some rain as well, thunderstorms potentially. Today we have a small craft advisory. So it's breezy and that's through tomorrow. High today sixty four. We dry out. Tonight, we're in the forties and the cooler urbs and then tomorrow gorgeous day, sunshine, still breezy, near seventy degrees. Wednesday and Thursday fantastic. This coming weekend fantastic, at least in this forecast that I have for ACU weather eleven five. Big safety improvements are coming to a busy part of Cambridge.

Drivers are being told to expect extra congestion during rush hours and to find ways to avoid the bu Rotary. This one point five million dollar safety improvement project comes after the death of a third cyclist over the past several months in the area, the most recent happening in September on Memorial Drive. Starting tonight through the end of November, DCR's closing lanes intermittently and implementing detours along Memorial Drive between Magazine and Audrey Streets. This project includes widening the shared use path leading to the Rotary and implementing a speed limit reduction along the corridor in Cambridge. James Rojas w b Z, Boston's News Radio.

Saga's Youth Football and Cheer issues and apology after a couple of parents fighted out in the stands, so people attending yesterday's game, Say of Salem and a Sauga's parent started fighting in the stands at Sauga's High School stadium, and then more people got in on the action. Well, somebody called nine to one one. This was a physical fight, and I wound up canceling the kid's game and the

rest of the games on yesterday's schedule. One woman had to be treated for injuries, nobody went to the hospital and nobody was arrested. Sauga's Youth Football and Cheer now asking parents to use this as a teaching moment, strengthening into a powerful Category four Now. Hurricane Milton is still barreling toward Florida with wins up to one hundred and twenty five miles per hour. Some areas still reeling from hurricane and they're getting ready for another hit. They're worried

about storm surge. CBS's David Parkinson has more about the storm's path.

Storm will cut across the state Wednesday night into Thursday morning, and then during your day Thursday, it emerges off to the Atlantic Coast. You'll be seeing some storm surge on the Atlantic Coast, and then it's really no threat to anybody after that. But really central Florida along the I four corridor and the entire west coast of Florida's Peninsula needs to be on high alert for this storm for a Wednesday afternoon evening landfall. For this storm to be one for the history book.
