Thirty six degrees in Boston at eleven o'clock, good Monday morning. It's March twenty fourth. I'm Sherry Small. The lane rain rather letting up just a little bit in the city. Now, just light rain coming down in Boston. All right, let's get you caught up. Here's what's happening. It's a moment decades into making, as the ribbon is cut on the Commuter Rail South Coast Rail Extension. WBC's James Rojas reports from South Station.

After the completion of six new stations, the commuter Rail is officially transporting passengers to and from communities of Fall River and New Bedford. These two riders were on the first train to South Station this morning.

It was beautiful. I didn't fill a bump. It was just lovely to get on. I lift two blocks away from the station.

The good job. William is among the first commuters going down to River. He calls this a huge accomplishment, but that this should only be the beginning.

This is a great starter. Train service is better than no train service, but we need to build phase two. We need to get the people of Stoughton and Easton on board with actually having trains in their communities because it can help them. That's what I think we should do for the future.

Radio, ratcheting up the pressure. Tonight, Everett City councilors are set to vote on whether or not to launch more investigations into longtime mayor Carlo D. Maria. According to The Globe, councilors will debate on whether to ask the State Ethics Commission for a deeper investigation into the mayor's use of city funds and potential conflicts of interest involving a law firm and pr agency Nadi. Maria allegedly hired the firms

on the city's dime. After an Inspector General's investigation found alleged wrongdoing, and the council order the mayor to return one hundred and eighty thousand dollars in what it says was bonus payments made to the mayor all Right. Last week, he launched his re election campaign for a seventh term. Tonight, counselors are also expected to discuss the possibility of implementing

term limits for elected officials. A Federal Appeals Court will hear arguments in President Trump's plan to use wartime authority to deport alleged gang members without a hearing.

A three judge panel of the d C Circuit Appeals Court well Way, the administrations pushed to overturn Judge James Boseberg's order restraining the president's use of the Alien Enemies Act. The appeals panel includes appointees of two Republican presidents, including Trump,

as well as no Obama nominee. The administration argues the men who've been subject to the use of the Enemy's Law have been thoroughly vetted as members of Trendy Aragua, but attorneys and relatives say several of those who have been said to a Salvador in prison are not members of the gang.

Peedo Pirpins freshman and Maryland native Derek Queen spoke about putting up his first game winner. Oh, a little bit nervous, but knew I knew we was new for one and I had had to meet this, Maryland faces the University of Florida in the Sweet sixteen. The Gators knocked out the reigning national champs, the Yukon Huskies, seventy seven to seventy five Michael Toscano CBS News.

And the bracket is set for the men's Frozen Four. Looking a lot like a Hockey East tournament. Here's WBC S Jared Brosnan to explain.

The NCAA men's hockey tournament is much smaller than the men's basketball tournament. Just sixteen teams get a chance to play in the Frozen Four, but half of those schools are from right here in New England. On Thursday, in Ohio, Boston University will face Ohio State. Meantime, in North Dakota, U mass Amherst will play Minnesota. Then on Friday, in Pennsylvania, it's the Battle over Connecticut, Yukon versus Quinnipiac. Later that night,

Hockey East champions Maine University will take on penn State. Finally, we head to Manchester, New Hampshire, where top seed Boston College will face AHA Conference champions Bentley. Then the Providence Friars will play the reigning national champions Denver University Jare Brosnan, WBZ Boston's news Radio.

In the women's tournament, the University of Wisconsin, led by Division IE player of the Year in Milton native KC O'Brien, beat Ohio State to win the national championship. That happened yesterday. The by failed Community Art Center in Newbury plans to remove the pride flags. The Eagle Tribune reporting that the center's president, Dave Hill, bought the flags because he wanted

to represent the arts. Bill got a letter from the town's legal council saying that the flag's violated town policy that only allows the US flag, Massachusetts flag, Town of Newberry flag, and the pow Mia flag to fly at town owned buildings.
