Forty one raised guys in Boston. But we're seeing rainslet and snow out there already. Weekend weather coming up is going to be a mix. But first we start with the recovery efforts underway, stretching now into a third day after this week's deadly playing collision over the Potomac River. Investigators are still searching for answers as to how an Army helicopter crash into an American Airlines passenger jet. ABC's Nicole D'Antonio as the latest.

It's unclear how many air traffic controllers were working at the time of the crash, but an FAA report says staffing in the tower was not normal. Sources say the controller handling helicopters in the area during the collision was also handling airline traffic. Those jobs are typically assigned to two separate controllers, but supervisors routinely com them when aircraft's.

On the night of the crash, the decision to combine those jobs was made forty minutes earlier than usual because of lighter traffic. Nicolde Antonio ABC News in Arlington, Virginia.

Investigators have recovered the flight data recorder and the cockpit voice recorder from the American Airlines plane. They hope these two black boxes will shed some light on how this happened. Latest, President Trump claiming that under the Biden administration, the FAA pushed for the hiring of people with disabilities.

It says FAA says people with severe disabilities a most underrepresented segment of the workforce, and they want amend.

The American Association of People with Disabilities, slamming Trump's comments, saying FAA employees with disabilities did not cause the crash and de hiring did not cause the crash.

President Trump did not offer evidence to support the claims. Federal investigators say this kind of investigation could take months, and they've been hesitant to speculate about any cause. The bird flu may be spreading In Plymouth and particular, hundreds of residents there reported seeing more dead birds on a pawd, this time Cordage Park which is a highly trafficked area for both dogs and people. So mass Wildlife is working with the town to remove and test the dead birds

for the highly contagious avian flu. Combined, they've carefully removed nearly two hundred so far. Dph's bird flu is widespread in Massachusetts and is likely president in places where there have been confirmed cases, and this could be a game changer in treating pain. Boston based Vertex says it has come up with a new drug to treat pain without opioids.

The FDA approving gernevcs, a non opioid pain medication designed to treat moderate to severe acute pain. Doctors say it could be a game changer. Unlike opioids, it's not addictive and works by blocking pain signals in the peripheral nervous system. Clinical trials show it provides significant pain relief in just two to four hours, comparable to opioids like hydro codone, but without the risks of addiction. Dave Packer, ABC News.

Denmark's Foreign minister said a US takeover of Greenland is not in the island's interests. On Thursday, his counterpart, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, downplayed any idea of using military force, but said President Trump's talk of buying the territory was quote not a joke. The Foreign minister said, it's not a joke either when we say that Greenland will not become an American possession. He said it's not in the
