The song Roadrunner is from Jonathan Richmond and the Modern Lovers in the mid seventies, with all its references to the sites and sounds of Route one twenty eighty. It is pure Massachusetts, according to state Representative David Lynskey, who, like Jonathan Richmond, grew up in Natick Now.

Speaker 8

Jonathan Richmond grew up literally a hundred yards from my house, and his first gig of the Mad Lovers was at Wilson Junior High School in Naty, Massachusetts, where I was fortunate enough to go to high school along with Jonathan.

Speaker 6

He urged the legislative committee to support a measure that would designate Roadrunner as the official rock song of Massachusetts. But what about the song dirty Water?
