With devatuers and real fuels expected to be close to the triple digits, the City of Boston is taking steps to keep residents cool and safe. City splash pads and pools are open for residents to cool often. Boston Centers for Youth and Families, buildings and public library branches will be open as cooling centers as well. The mayor is urging residents to stay hydrated, avoid being outside for long periods of time, and to be on the lookout for

kids or pets left alone in vehicles. It's also important to be on the lookout for signs of heat exhaustion like heavy sweating, clammy skin dizziness, nausea, or muscle aches. Staying safe in the extreme heat is also a community effort. Make sure to check in on your friend's family and neighbors, especially if they're older or have disabilities.
