This is w b Z, Boston's news radio. Were defining local news four o'clock and we are getting ready for sundown. Is going to be a cold Saturday night. Nice to be with you, and I'm Laurie Kirby in this Saturday our top story right now, the motorcade carrying the casket of former President Jimmy Carter has now arrived at the Carter Center in Atlanta, Georgia. A private service is getting underway as we speak. We'll have more on that earlier today.

In Plains, Georgia, the funeral motorcade passed by mister Carter's boyhood home, where a bell tolled thirty nine times for the late thirty ninth president of the United States. The motorcade began its trek this morning in America's Georgia. That's where we find ABC's Faith of Bubay. I've spoken to some of the people gathered here and they tell me they could not miss this moment in history. This was very important for them, each of them with their own

story of why they ended up Hugh. I spoke with a woman who came all the way from North Carolina, drove nine hours in the middle of the night just to witness this moment. Mister Carter will lie in repose from this evening until Tuesday morning, before heading to our nation's capital for more ceremonies there. And President Biden today awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom to nineteen Americans, one of the nation's highest honors.

She says, by the time I was realizing I was in the air, and I thought to myself, like I might die right now. The road rage attack was so violent. Hailey sores says it's a wonder she's home from the hospital this morning. Police say a man is seen on cell phone video snatching the petite mom of two young kids out of her car, picking her up, and then slamming her head first on the ground.

Speaker 1

It was like a weird sensation.

Speaker 3

I felt on my face and that's when I realized I was on the ground and I rolled over and there was blood dripping all over my hands, and pictures showed the brutal aftermath. Haley suffered a very serious injury to her skull and eye socket.

Her knee and foot are broken. She says she couldn't move them. All I could think was I'm probably never going to be able to walk again. I can't even tend to my kids. I can even walk up a staircase. I can't put my own sock on my foot. Please identify the suspect as twenty six year old Gladio Quissia of Pawtucket, now charged with amb malicious destruction and property and driving without a license. Sunset in just about twenty minutes is going to be spectacular if you're in the

Boston area. It's really just a gorgeous day. Through the window through the door. What a blast of arctic air. We're seeing twenty nine in Boston right now, Worcester twenty seven, Brockton twenty nine tonight. Many of you will be in the teams. And this is not even mentioning what it's going to feel like. That's just the temp. It feels

a lot colder. I can tell you that with those wins now, some of those stronger wins we were mentioning along the Berkshire area, we've seen a little bit of snow and also though places like Cape Con in the Eye Islands. But there are other exceptions of those stronger wins, So just be prepared for that. If you're out and about for dinner tonight, you brave souls, bundle up. We're also going to see more cold weather tomorrow and tomorrow night.

Fairly clear. What we're a little bit concerned about, and I stress the little is this mid Atlantic storm that could dump about half a foot of snow even more to Washington, d C. In that part of the nation. Could it brush us and bring a little precipitation here? Maybe maybe we're watching that. And this just into the WBZ newsroom, we have learned that State Rep. Chris Flanagan

is being investigated by the US Attorney's Office. Barnstable Police say they've received a report back in October alleging potential criminal activity involving the Dennisport Democrat and his election campaign. Now police say they've handed this case over to the US Attorney's Office. The allegation stem from a complaint by Flanagan's former employer. That employer, the home Builders and Remodelers Association of Cape cod who accused Flanagan of misappropriating money

from one of their accounts. Now, flanagan first one is seat in twenty twenty two, sworn in at the State House just three days ago after winning re election in November. NOBLEBZ News Radio was reached out to Flanagan for comment. His attorney, Greg Henning, has declined to comment. We are your breaking news station and we cover stories like this in a way nobody else does. Stream us on the iHeartRadio app. A new survey shows Massachusetts is a long

way from being a destination state. NOBDBZ Charlie Bergeron looks at the numbers and the exodus.
