Light to moderates shaking, so we don't expect too much damage. Most of Massachusetts as far out as Springfield could have felt this, as well as most of New Hampshire, lower third of Maine, parts of Connecticut and Rhode Island. I'm Drew mamholland, WBZ Boston's news radio.

US public health officials are being told to stop working with the World Health Organization effective immediately. A CDC official sent a memo to senior leaders at the agency yesterday telling them to stop work with the WHO and to await further guidance. Experts say this will set back work on monitoring bird flow of the US along we try to stop outbreaks of the Marburg virus and MPOs in Africa.

President Trump issued an executive order last week to begin the process of withdrawing from the WHO, but it requires the approval of Congress in order to take effect. President Trump's been using his position to sign many executive orders in his first week in office. Now, the President's expected to sign several executive orders focused on the military.

According to a White House official, the president will sign an executive order that will direct the DoD to determine a policy for transgender service members based on readiness. He'll also sign an order that abolishes DEI in the military, and a third executive order will reinstate members of the military who were discharged for refusing to get the COVID vaccine. Tax filing season is here. Today is the day when the IRS officially starts accepting tax returns. If you file electronically and your return is accurate and complete, the IRS says it should take fewer than three weeks to receive a refund. The deadline to file taxes is April fifteenth.

Massachusetts experienced the same four point one percent unemployment rate in December as the country as a whole, which ends at nearly two years streak of comparatively lower joblessness in the Bay. State labor officials announced that Massachusetts unemployment rate inched upward one tenth of a percentage point from four percent in November, while at the same time, the national unemployment rate ticked downward from four point two percent to

Visit your neighborhood health club and you'll be hard pressed to find many wrinkles or gray hairs, but researchers who've studied years worth of data have discovered that those sixty five and over can benefit dramatically from just a little physical activity. Their study finds that one hundred and fifty minutes per week of moderate exercise like a brisk walk or dancing can reduce the risk of death from any cause by thirty one percent. Jim Ryan ABC.

The papers citing a press release since as a formal announcement will be Wednesday at Brockton City Hall and will feature Jim Rice as part of the Brockton Rocks return looking to tackle the biggest job in Boston. A familiar name in New England throwing his hat in the race for mayor.
