Testimony is over and the jury's gone home, but work continues in Norfolk Superior Court at the Karen Reid retrial. The lawyers and the judge Shark questioning witnesses expected to testify before the jury next week. All day today, the jury heard testimony from
crash expert Matthew the Sogra. The defense brought him in to critique reports put together by the prosecution's expert crash witnesses. Special Prosecutor Hank Brennan pushing the Sogra on what information he knows and what he doesn't know.

The court's move allows the government to move forward with its plans to end parole protections granted by the Biden administration to some half a million migrants who fled Cuba, Haiti, Nicaragua, and Venezuela. Two of the court's liberals dissented, with Justice Katanji Brown Jackson writing that the majority threatens to unleash devastation, upending the lives of more than five hundred thousand people.
It follows a similar action by the High Court earlier this month that affected more than three hundred thousand Venezuelans here on temporary protected status. Stephen Portnoy, ABC News Washington.

The Globe reports the carvers he started after a decision by MIT Chancellor Melissa Nobles after class, President mega Ver Murray veered from prepared remarks Thursday and used the stage to express support for Palestinians in Gaza, calling for the school to cut ties with Israel and accused MIT administrators of being directly complicit in the ongoing
genocide of the Palestinian people. Today, a speech from the chancellor was briefly derailed by chance from students in the Middle East. Thamas is currently reviewing the latest peace deal from the US at Israel. However, there are concerns and the deal may not be enough for them to accept it in its current form. However, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza is also a growing concern.
The concerns that HAMAS has raised have to do with two of its main demands, one that there be a permanent end to the war in Gaza and the other that there be the full withdrawal of Israeli troops. A statement put out by Hamas this morning said that the situation was so grave in Gaza that Hamas was very seriously considering this because it would mean a sixty day ceasefire and it would mean less restricted flow of aid into the Gaza strip, which is so necessary for the population.
There at the moment. That is CBS's Hailey Ought Holy Family Hospital in Haveril says it's scaling back some services. State House News reports the hospital, formerly owned by Stewart Healthcare, is shutting down its emergency department and getting rid of several dozen impatient medical and surgical beds. Hospital plans to operate a satellite emergency department in Mathuin. The hospital says it's working to rearrange care in a more thoughtful, integrated

The FAA is requiring SpaceX to conduct what they call a mishap investigation after the company's Starship Mega rocket tumbled out of control after launch this week.
The Starship Flight nine mission launched Tuesday night from Starbase, Texas. After back to back explosions in earlier launches. SpaceX had hoped to release a series of mock satellites, but a door failed to open all the way, The spacecraft began spinning, and the first stage booster ended up in the Gulf of Mexico in pieces. The FAA says it will oversee the SpaceX led investigation and will approve any final report.
The Gulf of Mexico was changed by Presidential Exis Executive Order this year to the Gulf of America, and speaking of renaming bodies of water, what started as a joke on the South Shores turned into thousands of dollars that's helping to fund a new veterans memorial. Ray Jennings is one of the co owners of the Union Brew House in Weymouth. They have been selling Golf of Weymouth shirts at that pub and it all started with a joke during the winter when someone online renamed a map of the Gulf of Hingham to the Gulf of Weymouth, the play on President Trump's Golf of America, and the T shirt proceeds have been going to a great cause.
We have two veterans from Weymouth's name Fitzgibbons, a father and a son, and they both died.
When the town was low on funds for part of a plan memorial in stepped the Gulf of Weymouth and.
So the T shirts paid for it.
So that was great, and.
Now they've got no signs of slowing down.
