Episode description

Disney Animation Legend Andreas Deja sat down for a one-on-one interview to tell us all about his 10-year labor of love, Mushka.

Mushka is a short film told in exquisite and stylish hand-drawn animation by this director and animator. Mushka is the emotional and exciting story of a young girl named Sarah and her unlikely friendship with a tiger cub. The film is Andreas’s directorial debut. Mushka, created in the 2-D style of 101 Dalmatians is his homage to classic Disney animation.

Andreas is a Polish-born American animator/director, most noted for his 30-year career at Walt Disney Animation Studios. His work includes supervising animation on characters in many Disney animated films, including villains Gaston in Beauty and the Beast, Jafar in Aladdin, and Scar in The Lion King, and the titular character in Hercules, and Lilo, in Lilo & Stitch. He credits seeing Disney's The Jungle Book with inspiring him to become an animator. Deja’s 10-year labor of love.
