Episode description

Ahhhh, the Melbourne Cup; where champions become legends.

We still get goosebumps every time we hear Greg Miles call Makybe Diva home in her third Melbourne Cup win all the way back in '05.

2005 was the last time a horse won a consecutive Melbourne Cup, so can Gold Trip buck the trend and rewrite the record books in 2023? Lloydy think so.

Maybe it will be another Irish victory. Willie Mullins sends two runners over for the race that stops a nation - wait, no - stops the world. He'll saddle up the race favourite Vauban and the Ebor Handicap winner Absurde. Absurd spelling of the word, that's for sure.

Could Rachel King, Jamie Kah or Hollie Doyle be the second female jockey to win the race? Maybe Gai will win it again; 10 years since her first. What a horse Fiorente was?!

Or maybe, just maybe, Without A Fight will do the elusive Caulfield Cup/Melbourne Cup double. It's bloody hard to do, but Mark Zahra thinks he can do it, so does BJ.

Enjoy our 2023 runner-by-runner preview, enjoy the Melbourne Cup and most importantly, gamble responsibly!
