When you consider the many narratives woven throughout ten years of the Lapsed Fan podcast, it's no exaggeration to say it just doesn't get any more significant, any more replete with deep, deep meaning than a collision between lapsed Vince McMahon and lapsed Hulk Hogan. As unbelievable as it is, that is where we find ourselves in just the quarter final round of the TLFX Games King of the Cast tournament, the tournament to decide who, in fact is the greatest

character in the history of this cast. The King of the Cast, of course, is brought to you by our good friends at Garage Beer, small Batch smooth Drinking. The garage is always open. There's no bitterness when it comes to Garage Beer. But when we talk about lapsed Vince

and laps Hogan, there couldn't be more bitterness. From the trial of his life to the WrestleMania journey where they collided, of course at WrestleMania nineteen and in so many ways faced off behind the scenes, and the WrestleMania is proceeding, tore One went on the decision of Vince McMahon Hulk Hogan took center stage in Madison Square Garden and Hulkamania

never really looked back. We've covered all of the flash points over ten years of tlf and the matchup and the dynamic and the history between Laps Hogan and Lapsed Vince, and in a time of great strife and scrutiny and question marks around Laps Vince, it's perhaps only fitting that he rises to the forefront and gets an opportunity to chop down somebody who once stood across from him in Federal Court with the power to put him behind bars.

Of course, it didn't happen that way, as it never seems to happen for the Chairman, and here in the TLFX Games, Hulk Hogan perhaps finally has a chance to put what he would consider Vince McMahon in his appropriate place. We couldn't be more excited for this encounter, and we've got words to share with you from the principles in the final quarter final match in the TLFX Games. First up, we turn to Venice Beach and Lapsed Well, you know something,

Hulka Maniacs. Here we are again. Man, we're talking about the classic battle. Dudes, We're talking about the chicken in the egg which came first man, which one could be could exist without the other dudes. And I'm looking Vin snick Man dead in the eyes, dudes, and we're talking a history that goes way back, brother, that goes back millennia, dude, a conflict, dude, that goes back all the ways to ancient Roman.

Speaker 2

Julius Caesar, dude versus Brutus, not the Barber brother. So I ask you, Vince Snickman, what's it going to be this time? Dude? I took him down wrestling in nineteen and you know what I did what I could, brother to bring this company to fruition, dude, because I am the WWE dude. I am Hulkamania brother, and you can't have hul Comenia Hulk Hogan. So I see Vincic Man over there, dude, and I know exactly what's up his sleeve. I know that he thinks in his mind, man, that

we're gonna go right from behind and roll up Hulk Hogan. Well, you see, you know what, dude, I'm thinking way ahead of your brother, because I know that's my weak spot. That's where you want me to be, That's where you want me to think. So I'm gonna come at you from all sides. Man, Hulkamania knows no bounds.

Speaker 3

Brother.

Speaker 2

We come from every which way, dude, and I'm gonna come at you from the left, I'm gonna come at you from right, from the front, from the back, because I got my hulk of maniacs all over the world. Dude, who are gonna have my back. They're not gonna be looking at my back, brother, but they're gonna have it, dude, and they're gonna help me once again prove that Hulk Hogan Hulkamania does not need Vince McMahon brother to take you things to that next level, brother, to dial things

back in to kind of not stop. We're gonna stop playing hide the ball, brother, Vince McMahon, You and I have been playing to hide the ball for years on end, and now it comes to an end. Dude. It's gonna be a quick one, two three after I boot your face, brother, and leg drop your ass, because what you're gonna do when Hulk Hogan hal Comania and everybody coming from behind Vince McMahon fucks you up, dude.

Strong words from the Holtster who finally hopes to make a stand against the boss that has so defined and own owned his sense of himself and wrestling fan sense of what his contributions to the wrestling business truly were. Well, perhaps just about anybody who's ever found himself in the spotlight in professional wrestling, or herself for that matter, can point to our next promo as responsible or somehow able to claim dominion over their ability to succeed under these

bright lights, yours truly included. It was a fascinating meeting all those years ago when I came up to the Towers and sat down with the chairman for a job interview. Now Here I am in the TFX Games of Center, wondering if Vince McMahon, who you know from Netflix's documentary that is sweeping the nation right now, is going to

be able to triumph one more time. He's faced off against some of the absolute most vital parts of his organization so far in the TLFX Games, defeating his right hand man Pat Patterson in our opening round, and then taking on, perhaps with all due respect to the Hulkster, the greatest box office attraction he's ever had, in Stone Cold Steve Austin, soundly dispatching Steve Austin by a margin I don't think anybody could have conceived of eighty seven

point eight percent for lapsed Vince to lapse to Austin's only twelve point two percent. As for Laps Hull Kgan. He goes into our quarter finals having defeated Laps Jimmy Barnett by a margin of seventy seven point four percent for the Huckster to twenty two point six percent for

Jim Barnett. It perhaps is only fitting that we turn to the man who, in so many ways both flattering and unflattering, has been the only spotlight week in of forward to care about and a lifetime of wrestling fandom, the man who has decided and dictated our every whim, our every emotion as wrestling fans, and who continues to thoroughly dominate our conscious, our psyche, and our sense of

what's important in this business. Entering the quarterfile around against perhaps his greatest creation and ten years of marinating in the tlf OVEN, It's lapped Vince McMahon.

Speaker 3

You see, I've taken this tournament. I've already won, and I don't need to prove anything because what I did was in the first round beat the shit out of my best friend. I don't mind doing that if it means I get something, And even if I don't get something, per se, I still win. And then in the next round I face off with stone cold Steve Austin. Another walk in the park for me, because when it comes

down to it, you can't defeat the creator. Now, you can be the biggest star this business has ever seen. You can sell so much merchandise that we've run out of materials to build clothing. But you know what, you still can't one up the man who created you, the man who made you succeed. I allowed it, and so I wiped the floor with Steve Austin. And there will be no different with Hulk Cogan. Holk Hogan was nothing before he met me. Holk Hogan was nothing before I

gave him the opportunity to be the best. And if I am the one who holds the opportunity to be the best, if I created the opportunity to be the best, it means that I am better than the best because I created it. I created the best. The history of this business, the history of entertainment, flows through my veins, flows up and down. I am what was, I am what is and I am what will be. You can make all the threats in the world. You can take me to court. Hell, you know what, if you find reason,

you can put me behind bars. But don't think for one moment that I'm not pulling the strings. The strings are always in my pocket. They've always been in my pocket. I determine the outcomes. I determine the future. I am everything. You have no chance, all Cogan, because you cannot take down the creator.

Speaker 1

Longfellow perhaps couldn't have said it better here in the TLFX Games. It cannot be more colossal when you think about the rich ten year history of the Lapsed Fan podcast and how these characters have just jumped out of your earbuds. Perhaps no two have resonated as deeply and as longingly with such has Lapsed Vince and Lapsed Hogan. Their story is real, their story is fake. Is the

outcome predetermined? That's up to you to decide. Keep your eyes peeled to the Lapsed Fan's x account at the Lapsed Fan for your chance to vote on who advances in the TLFX Games King of the Cast Tournament quarter final round. As we march so very close to awarding the King of the cast the greatest character in the history of the lapsed fan. Who will it be lapsed Hogan or lapsed Vince. We'll see you next time in the TLFX Games event Center when we're at the semi

final point in our long, decade long journey. We'll see you then
