Episode description

Vaginal hernia is a condition where the vagina slips out of position. This is more common in women who have had multiple vaginal deliveries during childbirth, have gone through menopause, are smokers or are overweight. Pelvic organ prolapse happens when organs like the bladder, uterus or rectum drop down and press against the vagina. It can be shocking when this happens to you, but take heart: there are several ways to treat this condition -- both with and without surgery. Dr. Oakley will guide you step by step in this episode what to look out for when it comes to vaginal hernias. The Lady Bod Podcast is presented by St. Elizabeth Healthcare and Physicians.
