Episode description

This week’s interview is a blend of French and English, and speaks to the hybridity explored in our guest’s work. Marianne Chénard talks with Yanik Potvin about the role performance plays in his approach to ceramics, and his research methods, including collaborating with primates. In their broad ranging conversation, they also discuss marginal culture, punk music, and the need to rupture conventions. Potvin is from Saguenay Lac St-Jean Quebec, and is currently teaching at the Université du Québec à Chicoutimi dans le Département des Arts.
