Speaker 1

Hello, and welcome to the Carol Marcowitz Show. I'm a columnist at The New York Post and Fox News, co author of the best selling book Stolen Youth, and I'm so excited to join the Clay and Buck podcast network on iHeartRadio. For years, people asked me why I didn't have a podcast, and you know, I'd be on radio and TV a lot, but I didn't want to add another podcast to the pile. I didn't want to do news of the day or have interviews or people where

they discussed the news of the day. I felt like there were a lot of people doing that, some like Clay and Buck doing it exceptionally well, and I didn't have anything to add. So what I realized was that people want to hear about other things. And my most popular columns and conversations were when I'd get into cultural and social issues. What's marriage really like? Why are we lied to about what it's like to have children? What

does it mean to succeed in your career? I call these the kinds of conversations that make people really lean in and listen. It's not background conversation, it's the stuff that really matters that I haven't seen other people cover in their podcasts, So that's what we're going to do here. My format is going to be a short monologue or two followed by a conversation. You might know the people I'm interviewing, you might not, but you're going to hear

them get asked questions they've never been asked before. You'll hear me ask successful people whether they feel like they've made it. We'll talk about advice that they have, whether about career or life in general. We're going to talk about relationships, how to make them work, how to find the right person, how to keep the spark alive, what matters in marriage, Why sex is the most important part of a relationship. And I feel like a lot of

people are going to challenge me on that one. But I have some thoughts why the joy of children is so impossible to convey. I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I was born in the Soviet Union and grew up in Brooklyn, New York. I'm married to an immigrant from Israel who grew up in Queens. You know, two immigrant kids from the boroughs of New York. We finished building our dream house in Brooklyn and fully moved in March of twenty twenty. We were New York supremacists.

We were never leaving until COVID exposed some things about our beloved city that we just could not unsea. So my husband and I, along with our three children, picked up and moved to South Florida. In January, it will be two years that we are Floridians. We're part of a larger migration around this country from places like New York and California, two places like Texas and Florida and Tennessee and other states. We've loved Florida so much. We're

really so happy here. But on this pod, we'll discuss what a move like that really means. You know, a lot of people make moves after high school, after college, but what's it like to have to restart your life in a new place as an adult? How do you do that? How do you make friends? How do you find your people? Things that I love include poker, whiskey, travel, talking to people. That's probably my favorite. I love meeting new people, and I'm married to curmudgeon who is not

super into that. So you guys will be my outlet as I talk to everybody as much as I want. I imagine I'll be talking about all of these things from time to time, and I'll also be taking your questions and offering my advice if you want it. The email address to send me notes is Carolmarkowitz Show at gmail dot com, and we'll do our best to get your question answered on the show. I do hope you'll listen along. This is the first time I've done a podcast, like I've said, and I would love to see where

this goes with all of you. Join me for The Carol Markowitz Show, debuting Monday, October second, with new episodes dropping every Monday and Thursday on the iHeartRadio app, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.
