Vance v. Walz: You Have to Admit, Civility is Boring

Karel Cast 24-135

The debate between the two VP candidates was thoughtful, cvil and presented two different styles and two different politically ideologies. And I could barely stay awake. Maybe I was just tired, but, I saw more eyeliner than fire in the belly. Are we no longer interested in actual debate?
180 missiles...Iran lobbed 180 missiles at Israel. A friend asked did WWIII just start and...I couldn't really be optimistic about it not.

Yesterday was two important days in Las Vegas, one of pain and one of politics. It was Oct. 1, the anniversary of the shooting at Mandalay Bay and the country music festival; what's changed in LV to make sure that couldn't happen again? And, it was music advocacy day, where Recording Academy members met with local reps about the No Fakes Act and more.

Alrighty, Writy, gutty, it is the crail Cast. And on today's show, we've got to talk about the debate that was or was not a debate, I'm not even sure. Also, we're gonna talk about so many other things in the news today that your head's gonna spin. Honey, it's gonna filluncensored, unfiltered, fun hinged. It's the Corel Cast. Listen daily on your favorite streaming service. Okay, it is the crowd Cast. I

am carell happy. Wednesday, October two. This is the Macha latte that I spoke about at the end of yesterday's show. This is six ounces of freshly brewed macha from Harney Tea, a quarter cup of soy milk or actually today's almond milk, and a tablespoon of a gave because a gave does not spike your blood sugar. And I made it too late. I made it right up against showtime. But I love this so much. You're all gonna have to indulge me while I drink this, because, oh my god, I'm telling

you I could sell this for nine dollars. I'm telling you right now. Alrighty, well, how about them Dodgers oh, the debate was last night. I need these on I'm getting so old, I really am. I'll be sixty two November seventh. Send cash, Send cash because old people want they want money. People think that young people want money in their birthday cards. No, old people want money in

their birthday cards. Eight five five zero West Desert in Road Unit one O two dash five oh five, Las Vegas, Nevada eight nine or PayPal dot me forward slash really Carrel PayPal dot me forward slash really Carrel. All right, I how do I I have to be honest with you all. I couldn't watch the entire debate, Okay, I have to. I don't want to stand here and lie to you. In fact, no one I know could watch the entire debate a It was boring as f And that speaks more about me than them. They did what

they were supposed to do. Vance and Walls, they spoke about policy. They were civil with each other. But see you and I don't want civility when it comes to someone like JD. Vance. Okay, And that's my biggest problem. Kamala treated Donald Trump like he deserved to be treated like a scumbag, because that's what he is JD. Vance who is gay? It is my belief that man is gay. I'm sorry his body, that his shoulder shimmies, that man, I mean, I was like, he's as queer as I am.

Now he says he's not. So I'm not gonna you know, I'm not that person. But I'm just telling you. Steve and I were on the phone and Steve's all, he's gay. I go, well, he did come out when he was young, and then he said he changed his mind. He was wearing more eyeliner than Diana Ross. But whatever. I like men that wear makeup, so were the makeup Jada. In fact, I may like JD. Vans if he weren't such a

crazy idiot. But the fact that he refused to acknowledge that Donald Trump lost the election, and the fact that he refused to say that he would accept the outcome of the new election, and he refused to condemn January sixth, that's it. He's not a credible human being that's a candidate for office. If you can't you know, we hold these truths to be self evident. Donald Trump lost the election.

Donald Trump incited insurrection. Donald Trump is a traitor to the United States, of America who has probably sold are secrets to other governments. You there's no middle ground there, no matter how civil you try to present these radical policies, which is what he tried to do. He tried to be the voice of calm to Trump's over the top. It was Andrew. He was his Andrew. Andrew is my calm, you know, with the If you wanted a calm conversation,

talk to Andrew. If you wanted well me, talk to me. JD. Vance may have sounded civilized, he may have sounded normal, but nothing about his policies are normal, Nothing about anything that he has said on the campaign trail as normal. And there is nothing normal in refusing to acknowledge that eighty one million people sent your ass home and you lost the election. There's nothing normal about not condemning January

sixth and saying it was treason. If you don't do those things, you should that should be a litmus tesch for office in the United States. But it wasn't. And I didn't want Tim Wallas to be nice to him because he doesn't deserve it. Donald Trump and JD. Vans do not deserve niceties. They don't deserve normalcy. They don't deserve casual and kind conversation. They are trying to literally destroy our country. So Democrats, please, I'm voting for you. I'm gonna be there. I've written a song for you.

I love you. I love you. Kamala Harris. I do I love her, not like oh I'm in love with her. I love her. I love her demeanor. I love everything about her, I really do. There are little things that bother me, but hey, there are little things that bother me about husbands, you know. I mean. So, I love her. I want her to be president. I wouldn't have written a song about her if I didn't. But stop, Democrats. Stop being cordial to people that you shouldn't even wipe

your boots on. Jd. Vance is a Nazi. He looks like a Nazi. He's a Nazi. His beliefs are right up there with the Nazi Party. You know, they're as bad as Mengelo, they really are. They want to experiment on women in a way. They want to see what happens to women. Do you know today in Louisiana it is now illegal, illegal to possess the abortion pill, and they're fine with that. Illegal to have a drug in your medicine cabinet that has been prescribed illegal. That's freaking weird. Okay,

that's weird. Jd Vance is weird. He still thinks they're eating dogs and cats in Springfield, Illinois. They eating the dogs, eating the cats. It might be a funny meme, but it's not funny to the Haitians or what did he say? Where did he say? They live Hyashia? So being civil to that man, I couldn't do it. And I don't think Tim Walls should have done it. I don't think Kamala Harris should do it. I don't think anyone should be civil to Trump and to Vance. They literally want

to install a dictatorship. Donald Trump has already approved the purge, a bloody day to get rid of crime. That's the purge, and JD Vance is right behind him sucking his you know what maybe literally oh oh, a little orange thing. Ugh. So I turned it off because I actually couldn't take the civility. Isn't that something they were doing? What they should do, have a civil discourse, That's what our politics should be. That's what they were doing. I couldn't take

it because it normalized jd Vance. It made him appear credible. It made him appear well versed, and Tim Walls was a little off his game last night. It made JD. Vance appear normal and I could and take it. I could not take it. What about y'all? Let's check the chat room at YouTube dot com. Forward slash really corral. Let's see. On Saturday, I was at a farmer's market in Tulsa and saw a single serve bottle of Macho Late for seven dollars. Oh no, make your own, honey,

make it turned it off after five minutes. The world is crumbling in their spinning bs. That's exactly friggin' right, Steve Benfeld or Bernfeld? Is it Burnfeld? Mister Zigfeld? While they were spinning their bs, one hundred and eighty ballistic missiles were falling on Israel one hundred and eighty, you know, And they're right. Van says a much better liar than Donald Trump. All I saw last night was danger. It made me feel that we were in danger because he's slick.

He is a slick liar. He appears credible, and he says stuff out of his mouth that is absurd. But see when Trump says it sounds absurd because it is absurd. J. D. Vance said absurd things that sounded normal, that sounded logical, And to the sick little individuals that follow these people, he's a winner. To the world. It was a tie. A tie. How can you friggin tie in a debate with a guy that won't acknowledge that the boss lost the last election, that he committed treason on January sixth,

that they're not eating dogs and cats in Springfield. How can that be a tie? How fracked up are your morals and your intellect and your lack of knowledge that you would look at that guy and think, yeah, he could be vice president. God, we're a nation of freaking idiots. And while they stood there talking, bombs were literally falling in Israel a world. Someone asked me, is World War three starting? I said, well, it looks that way. And now israelis are making incursions into Lebanon, and Iran is

threatening more and now Israel threatening to reach retaliate. And that's called war. And you know what boy George said about it, war or a stupid and peeple a stupid and love means nothing in some strange quarters. He hates that song. By the way, Boy George hates that song. I love it, but boy George hates it. So I'm telling you now, I'm telling you now, last night was dangerous.

Yes it was civil, Yes they talked policy. It was dangerous because the guy that doesn't think Trump lost the election, the guy that thinks January sixth was a bunch of polite people just rallying at the Capitol Building. The guy that thinks Haitians are eating dogs and cats in Springfield appeared sane and normal. And when that happens, danger Will Robinson. Danger. By the way, the new Austin Space is brilliant. What's not so new anymore on Netflix? It's brilliant. But the

robot never once does this. The robot was all tech, and I'm like, no, I want I want danger Will Robinson. But anyway, So that's that's what I have to say about the debate. I didn't watch it all because I felt it was dangerous. I really did. I felt that Tim Walls appeared normal, and he ain't watch Hillbilly Elogy. He's not a normal person. Normal people don't come out to everybody and then say, oh it's my bad, change my mind, you know. So, yeah, either you like to

suck you know what or you don't. Oh, it's that simple, and let's talk about the bombs and the strange dust lands on your face. I can't believe I'm singing. Morrissey. Such an a hole he is these days. But there's a war going on and we're gonna get sucked into it. We already were last night we helped deflect some of the one hundred and eighty ballistic missiles. If there was a nuclear warhead on any of them, today would be a very different day for all of us, for everybody.

And Iran will cross that line if Israel attacks Iran in retaliation. Iran is only weeks away from a nuclear warhead. So I'm not ready for all that, are you? And poor Kamala? I mean it so right this week we've got this port strike. You're going to start feeling it if it goes on for more than a week. Prescription drugs, toilet trees, all kinds of things that are in your fruits and vegetables that are shipped through the ports, they're

not gonna make it. They're going to rot on the deck, on the whatever you want to call it, And I guess it's a deck right at a port there's a deck is not what it's called, and your prices are going to go up even higher right before an election. I fully believe that Joe Biden, who doesn't want to get involved, I get at union guy. He haw to engage. Is it tasted heartly? Is that the bill which says that they have to both cool it for eighty days while they negotiate, that they go back to work, and

they have eighty days to negotiate. He needs to exercise that because that will give Kamala time to get elected. This is not the time for prices to start skyrocket skyrocketing because of what's going on. So I really feel that, you know, and as for Israel, someone's got to call that in Yahoo and say stop stop. You are escalating this into a world war and we're not gonna do it.

All right, Yesterday was Music Advocacy Day, and you know what, I encourage each of you to go talk to your legislators, make an appointment with your congress person, go down and meet their staff. Yesterday was the first time I've ever done it as a citizen and not as a journalist. Now I've expressed a lot to politicians, presidents, senators, but as a journalist. Yesterday, I was an advocate for music. I was the team captain. I was so honored. I had R and B Legend Angela Windbush on my team.

Look her up. I had multi platinum DJ Chris Cox on my team. Look him up. It was an incredible day. And before I went yesterday, I recorded what the day was about. And then they did not allow video at the meeting at Representative Lee's office, but we did take some photos, So stay tuned when we come back, I'm gonna show you what the day was about and then show you some photos from the event and tell you how it made you. Don't go anywhere, kay, don't. Got

a lot more to talk about, and starting faster. I'm a drink. I'm on the latte baby. Oh yeah, men, that sounded yes. I mean, hey, Corel here, and I'd like to take a moment to thank all the patrons of Patreon. Your support means the absolute world to me and the show. Thanks from thirty years of support for the loudest, craziest, most unhinged gay guy and his little dog. And let's

keep the party going as long as we can. Alrighty, I am Corel And one of the proudest moments of my life was in nineteen ninety eight when I got to join the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, better known as GRAMMY. I had been going to GRAMMY since the eighties. I started when I was twenty one years old as a photographer for someone I knew not of. I met him in a bar and he said, do you have a can you take pictures. I said yes. He said, do you want to go to Grammys in

two days? I said yes, And I swore at that moment, when I was watching people like Jennifer Holiday and Grace Jones, that was my first Grammys. I swore that one day I would be on the side of the velvet rope, that I would be a voting member of the Academy for singing and for songwriting. That happened in nineteen ninety eight through Jellybean Recordings. When I was signed to Jellybean, we got dance music artist to join together and rally Grammy for a category, and we got it. We got

a dance music category. And I've been a member now for twenty six years, a voting member of Grammy, and I am so very proud of it. So I've been wanting to get more involved in Grammy and the work they do outside of the Grammy Awards, and one of the things they do is Music Advocacy Day. Now, this is a day where Grammy members from all of the chapters meet with their local politicians to talk about important congressional and Senate bills and rally on the behalf of

musicians everywhere. Because let's Remember, music is a business and people in it need to make money, need to make livings, just like the doc workers or just like anybody else, and so our issues need to be brought to the foreground, and Grammy does that once a year through Music Advocacy Day. Now, today we are meeting myself, Angela Winbush, who's a R and B legend, Chris Cox who is a multi platinum producer, remixer, DJ, and several other key members of Grammy here in Las Vegas.

We don't have our own chapter, we're part of the LA Chapter, but we have key members here in Vegas. I am the team Captain. I am so honored to be team captain. I was recommended by fabulous Rachel Stillwell and Keana Conley and made me a team captain, and here I am so today I'll be giving these out to my team members. And this is how the US House of Representatives can support music. We are not meeting with our senator. We are meeting with our congress person.

And of course there's different bills at different stages of the Houses. So today we want her to pass the Pro Music Bill, the No Fakes Act, the Bipartisan No Fakes Act, creates a federal property right to protect artists and other individ from having their image, voice, or likeness misused by generative AI to create deep fakes and clones. So, in other words, now with AI, you could go and say, I want Taylor Swift to sing a song about elephants, and technically AI could write the song, use a clone

of her voice to sing the song. Uh. And you could even do a deep fake video with her life with her likeness to create a video of the song. And you could do all of that without her consent or approval. That's wrong. The one thing that we own in this life is us, our faith, our voice, our talent. That's ours. We own that and no one else should be able to exploit that without our permission. So that's what the No Fakes Act, which is HR nine five to five one does. Then the American Music Tourism Act

HR eight eight four three. This bipartisan American Music Tourism Act aims to enhance the music ecosystem and increase both domestic and international tourism throughout the United States by requiring the Department of Commerce to implement a plan to support and increase music tourism. You say, what is music tourism. Well, when people go to Graceland, that's music tourism. When people

go to Nashville, that's music tourism. When people come to Las Vegas to see where the Brat Pack performed, to go in the ballroom you know where Sammy Davis Junior is saying, or to go see a current act that may be here in Vegas, that's music tourism. So we want Congress now to get involved and help support and promote music tourism. It can mean money in a lot of people's pockets that are in the tourism industry. We

want them to co sponsor the Hits Act. The Hits Act is a bypart artists and tax reform that incentivizes the creation of new music by amending the tax code so independent artist and songwriters can fully deduct the cost of new recordings and song demos on their taxes up

to one hundred and fifty thousand dollars. The bill gives music production the same tax treatment as film production, television production, and theatrical production, and is primed to be included in any comprehensive tax reform package, meaning if you make a movie, if you do a Broadway play. If you make a TV show, you can write off the production cost. If you make a song, you can't. And that's just dumb. So we're trying to fix that then, and that's HR

twelve to fifty nine. And then the American Music Fairness Act HR seven ninety one is a bill to establish a performance right for sound recordings broadcast on AMFM radio in the United States and is a loophole that does not give any money to music performers and producers. Right now, the people that make the money when you hear something played on AMFM radio are the songwriters. They get all the money the performer does not the musicians, the producers. Nope,

well this would fix that. So AMFM radio will have to pay the singers because a lot of singers don't write their own material, and so every time it's played on the radio, the singer ain't making a cent. They should be. So those are the four bills that we'll be rallying today with the staff of Representative Susie Lee. Now some might say, why can't she meet with you, Well, it's October first here in Vegas and she's at memorials. But staff, as you know, if you want something done,

go to the staff. I got my job at KFI because of Estella Marquin, David Hall's secretary. Make friends with the staff. They know what's going on more than anybody else. They're the ones who control the schedules, and when it comes time to vote, they're the ones that brief their bosses on what is up, how they should vote, et cetera, or what to consider for their votes. So meeting with

the staff is still good. I want to encourage you all to throw your weight behind this as well, behind HR nine five to five one, the No Fakes Act, behind the American Tourism Act HR eight eight four to three, the Hits Act HR twelve fifty nine, and the Music Fairness Act HR seven ninety one. We need everyone's support so musicians can continue to try to make a living

in the business of music. Now I'm gonna go change clothes because I gotta look fabulous, honey, and I'm gonna get Enber all done up, and we are going to go meet some incredible musicians that I now call my peers. And that's one thing Grammy has really made me feel. I have been in the room with some of the biggest hit makers in the world, and my opinion is

just as valid as theirs. I'm on the Music Advocacy Panel and it's just incredible the people that are on this panel that we meet four times a year to discuss how to further the business interest and creative interest of all musicians everywhere. Grammy and Neris are fighting for every musician everywhere. It's a very important organization. Grammy in Schools is trying to get music back in schools, the

Grammy Museum. It's really multifaceted, and Music Advocacy Day is one thing that they do that is equally as important as anything else. You've got to be an advocate for your own interest, especially if you're an artist. Now, let's go meet with Susie Lee's reps and see who shows up. All right, So there we are meeting with Susie Lee. The gentleman with the curly hair, that's Chris Cox. The

African American woman is Angela Beaufil, an incredible artist. The woman in the stripes right there, that is Janie Jennings. She is a music industry professional. She works at labels and management. And then we met with the two reps. Viarta who was wonderful and Michael there in the back. The gentlemen, they were so receptive to meeting with us. They had the bills in front of us or in front of them, They really were interested in why we

were there and what they could do. Now that doesn't mean that Susie Lee is going to vote this way. It just means we went to try to convince them and give them ammunition so when these votes come up, Susie Lee will know exactly what she's doing. I highly recommend ay you support these bills with us. Okay, let your lawmaker know that you support these bills. But also this really taught me that you need to go down, you need to be engaged, you need to go and

fight for what you want. These people, Chris just got off a plane from Portugal. Angela Winbush just got in town from being on tour. These people are very, very busy, and yet they took time to and talk with the other very busy people, the staff of Susie Lee, who is in the middle of a contentious election, to sit down and advocate for us. It was a great day and I think we got a lot accomplished. I really truly do. I hope to do it again next year, and I hope to keep rallying. I hope. Oh goodness,

we're in the black. There we go back to me. I am a one person show, so obviously I have to make some switches. It was a great day. I was so honored to be there. I was so honored to be team captain. I hope my team liked me. I think they did. And again, help us support the No Fakes Act. It's called the No Fakes Act. Send off a little letter to your congress person. Please support the No Fakes Act to stop AI generative AI from

infringing on the rights of performers. All right, and as I said, go down, rally your cong person, Rally your senator. They have offices in the district for this very reason to meet with you. Don't wait what sixty one years is how old I am. Don't wait sixty one years to go down and meet your rep other than doing an interview with them or something. My thanks to John Sanchez Junior, Daniel Charleston's uncle, who I met through Daniel

and now Daniel's gone. The last time he photographed me was at the funeral, and this gave us a great reason to be together again, But he took those wonderful photos. All right, did I cover everything I wanted to do? Some of you get upset. I covered the bombs, the missiles. Oh and yesterday was October one, and you know what, that's a mass shooting day here in Las Vegas. And I just wanted to say that nothing has been done since then to protect us from it happening again. Hotels

do not screen luggage, and they should. When you check into a hotel, why aren't all bags run through a metal detector or an X ray machine? Why should you be allowed to carry a gun or whatever up to your room. I just don't think guns should be allowed in hotel rooms. I think I've carried one in a hotel room before, and I don't think I should anymore. I mean, I have a gun, and I have traveled with it, and when I was staying in a strange place, I brought it with me. I don't think I'll be

doing that again. And of course, assault weapons are still legal. So as we mourn the victims of October one, I'd like to see us actually do something to stop something like that from happening again, something meaningful, like banning assault weapons, something meaningful, like the big hotels scanning luggage, you know, and maybe having a gun safe at the hotel. If someone brings a gun, maybe they should have to check

it into a gun safe. I don't know. All I know is since October one, nothing substitutive has been done in Nevada to stop it from happening again. Of course, why should there be, because every time there's a mass shooting in America, there's nothing that's a substance done to stop the mass shootings. So yes, it was a very sad day here in Las Vegas yesterday the commemoration. But I'd like to see some change to make it better. I am Carrel, be who you want to be, fund

and hurt you buddy. We'll be back live tomorrow at ten am, so be sure you tune into things the same CAREL times, same COREL channels until then. Thank you, patrons to Patreon, you make the world go round for me. Patreon dot com, forward slash really, Carrel, thank you, thank you, thank you.
