[SPEAKER_01]: The conference on this show, it doesn't exist, because guys, we're talking about a live show with a brand new dance every week. [SPEAKER_00]: What was your first reaction when you found out Danielle was your partner? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like first of all, wicked halfway through the competition. [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: What can we look for in the dance? [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything you can say about it?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, we are personally doing the Argentinian go. [SPEAKER_00]: So we are doing no routine. [SPEAKER_01]: two rehearsals today most of the days for pros it feels like two rehearsals because if we are not teaching the celebs we are probably choreographing our next dance you know so you're already working on that yeah yeah so like every day like the four hours that you have with your celebs it guaranteed one rehearsal

[SPEAKER_01]: And then, for example, yesterday we had a 7 am to 10 am all pro rehearsal for the opening number coming this coming Tuesday, you know, and then today I'm already choreographing my next week's dance. [SPEAKER_01]: So basically, yeah, every day you have at least two or three for the pros for sure. [SPEAKER_00]: And is that just you in the rehearsal studio playing it on loop a hundred times figuring out what you're going to do?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I mean, for us, like, I really like played by myself, you know, thinking about the ideas, thinking of steps I want to do. [SPEAKER_01]: Like the ideas, but then in order to actually see how they look, we need to try it with somebody, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why we call it having a body, you know, having someone to try it with.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, you know, you can call your friends, somebody who can, [SPEAKER_01]: or, you know, like your colleagues, whatever, and you go into the studio and you already kind of have a choreo prepared, but you need to try it with them. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, you wanna like do it, and then you wanna tape it yourself, see it from the outside if what you heard and what you envisioned.

[SPEAKER_01]: First of all, if it actually works, you know, you're trying like, okay, I envisioned it, let's see if it works. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's see if we can do it to the speed, you know, with the music. [SPEAKER_01]: And then you recorded, you'll watch it back, and you're like, you know, [SPEAKER_01]: I thought it's gonna sound nice when we do this move, but it doesn't really match let's try something else So this is the process really.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: That's what I love about the show is that there's so much that goes on behind the scenes That we don't get to see but now getting to hear from you is so crazy Who do you who do you have as your body normally is there one person you're trying to stick to because I imagine Danielle is so busy

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so what happens is of course me and then you would try to help each other as much as possible, but this is the thing people are like, oh well you have each other which is great, you know, and it is great. [SPEAKER_01]: But the thing is, for example, if let's say I'm going and I'm doing prepping the courier with somebody else, then let's say takes me to hours, for example, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Then it's two hours out of that day.

[SPEAKER_01]: If we're helping each other, [SPEAKER_01]: I am using two hours of things time and then she needs me for two hours to do the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: So now we are stuck for four hours. [SPEAKER_01]: So on one hand it's great we have each other. [SPEAKER_01]: But specifically like this season, we, our schedules are really off like when I'm rehearsing in the morning, she's at night or the other way around. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're barely seeing each other period.

[SPEAKER_01]: Do you plan that on purpose for Nikita? [SPEAKER_01]: Well, honestly, it goes based on so many things. [SPEAKER_01]: It's the fittings, the celebrities availability, the studio availability, all of this thing. [SPEAKER_01]: So we kind of being thrown into whatever is available. [SPEAKER_01]: It does work out, well, though, that, for example, if in the evening, I'm home early, I can, we can keep it to sleep, or vice versa.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we want to spend a little bit of time in the morning with her. [SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: that definitely, you know, has a positive aspect to it. [SPEAKER_01]: But in terms of helping each other, it is great when we do have the time that we get each other's help. [SPEAKER_01]: Otherwise, we do it separately, but then, of course, you know, we still go with each other, okay, this is what I did. [SPEAKER_01]: See, like, do you like it?

[SPEAKER_01]: So, we still have, like, each other's opinions and, you know, like, directions. [SPEAKER_01]: So, even if we don't prep it together, we're still kind of ended up looking at the choreo. [SPEAKER_00]: This with the stars is such a well-oiled machine and you talking about it just shows how much really goes into it. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything this season that's shocking to you that is just different? [SPEAKER_00]: Something the fans might not realize behind the scenes?

[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I think there are a lot of things that fans do not realize, you know, because again, it's like [SPEAKER_01]: You don't understand what happens behind the closed doors, how the whole process works. [SPEAKER_01]: For example, we did a dedication night last week, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And we had building yields as part of our dance. [SPEAKER_01]: 90 year old, 90 year old, 90 year old, half year old crazy. [SPEAKER_00]: And a half. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and a half.

[SPEAKER_01]: what an epic moment. [SPEAKER_01]: He was there with his wife, she's 96, they've been married for 74 years, yeah, it's insane, legendary. [SPEAKER_01]: And for example, when we announced that we're going to, you know, Danielle did a podcast, she announced that he's going to be part of our dance fans of boy meets world, you know, like all the nine discids, millennials, everyone when crazy, right? [SPEAKER_01]: to see that they were all looking forward to it.

[SPEAKER_01]: And in the comments, everybody's like, oh my God, I wish someone they did this from the show or they did this, from the show and they did this. [SPEAKER_01]: And funny thing is that when we're thinking about these things, we wanna do all of those things.

[SPEAKER_01]: I mean, first of all, in a minute, long, a minute and a half, long dance, it's impossible to do all of it, but there would be a lot of things out of what fans are commenting, we actually were thinking about to begin with. [SPEAKER_01]: But for example, what fans don't realize is a lot get has to do with IP rights, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So, and this is just one example, but I'm talking about every week, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: If we have a week of week coming up this week, you can imagine the IP rights on that or something else, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Sun wise. [SPEAKER_00]: Getting some real carbon-dress. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, getting some real carbon-dress, getting some real carbon-dress on. [SPEAKER_01]: Thank God, the Niel is, you know, her besties, so they can they can figure that out.

[SPEAKER_01]: but you know like all of these things there was a behind the scenes things that like fans don't think they realized but when we're dealing with IP rights even copying the smallest little thing from the show or you hear somebody's voice or a sound from there or whatever it might be you might run into issues so therefore [SPEAKER_01]: you know, as creative as you can get, you have to really understand like what is realistic based on all the rules, laws, and everything.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's boundaries and limitations. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Wicked week five coming up. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there any week six week six halfway through the competition? [SPEAKER_00]: Yep. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything you can allude or what can we look for in the dance? [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything you can say about it? [SPEAKER_00]: The style's already came out. [SPEAKER_01]: So we are personally doing the art. [SPEAKER_01]: You can tangle.

[SPEAKER_01]: And I think that sounds already so I think I'm free to say that as well. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're doing no good deed. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's definitely one of the songs that has a very different vibe from the rest of them. [SPEAKER_01]: throughout the movie. [SPEAKER_01]: And for us, it's a great style because we haven't done anything like that yet. [SPEAKER_01]: And it's the only style that we've done so far that allows lifts, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: We cannot do like lifts and all styles. [SPEAKER_01]: Of the other ones don't allow lifts? [SPEAKER_01]: No, no. [SPEAKER_01]: So we have styles on a show that allow lift, which is, [SPEAKER_01]: Contemporary jazz, Argentinian tango, Charleston, salsa, and the freestyle, of course, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Those allow lifts, everything else that's like cleanball on like tango, cha cha, sambha, we're not allowed to do lifts.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is our first dance when we get to do this. [SPEAKER_01]: So this is exciting and it's a definitely very different vibe from anything we've done so far. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we did a lot of like a quick step. [SPEAKER_01]: Jive, even the fact that we did like very classy, but we did it in a TikTok week.

[SPEAKER_01]: And we had men, chiles have been carpeted the song, you know, which has like a [SPEAKER_01]: like a different vibe, you know, from, it's not like a classic facelift, you know, and even the tango that we did week one, it's not like like Comparsita or Tangera, it's stronger, right, Kelly Clarkson. [SPEAKER_01]: So still we like in a very pop world, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And this is the first one when we get to be like in this dark, more moody dance. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's exciting.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's definitely going to be like a full uterine from anything we've done so far. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you excited for the costume that you have for it? [SPEAKER_00]: Do you know what you're wearing already? [SPEAKER_00]: I know what I'm wearing and for... [SPEAKER_01]: Our dance, it's actually super classy and very fitting to the style that we're doing.

[SPEAKER_01]: I always like that, you know, when you feel very comfortable because, you know, sometimes we can have some crazy juxtaposition between the dance and the costume. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, of course, sometimes on a Halloween night, you know, we can have like a crazy like, okay, let's do, um, I don't know, [SPEAKER_01]: Fox trouble we're gonna be dressed as zombies.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know like like fox rod and zombies like okay Let's make that work this one because like because of the theme and the song and everything actually our costumes a pretty Classy for an origin tingle. [SPEAKER_01]: I would say so I think it's a good one. [SPEAKER_01]: Very nice [SPEAKER_00]: What's up guys, real quick, this episode is brought to you by Aiana. [SPEAKER_00]: I love drinking it after a hike, I love drinking it after a pickle ball, it's really really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: So if you want to try it, it's going to be linked down below, stay hydrated, my friends. [SPEAKER_00]: Now back to the podcast. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd love to get your perspective, because being a professional dancer, ballroom competitions, who had the most difficult dance style matched with a song? [SPEAKER_00]: Or maybe the tempo, the beat, it's just, you were like, wow, I can't believe they made that work. [SPEAKER_00]: Does anything come to mind for that?

[SPEAKER_01]: Yes, what comes to my mind is Danny's an Amman's freestyle to us. [SPEAKER_01]: I got five on it from us when the one that the one that I mean, the one that was eminominated. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, so that one [SPEAKER_01]: had barely any beats or rhythm or any metronome. [SPEAKER_01]: So they had to really feel those poses how long they are before like the whistle sound comes in or the you know the voice comes in. [SPEAKER_01]: So that is hard to make it work, you know.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's kind of like when you're recording a [SPEAKER_01]: and there's like a pause and you're like, I need to say it like open my mouth exactly at that time.

[SPEAKER_01]: right like you know what I mean like it's sometimes you're like I need to do a few tries to like match it perfectly so imagine the same thing in a dance like you know your moves but you need to feel the pause before that instrument comes in or something so I think that one was very impressive because then he being a professional dancer but the man I think it's because he has that music you know like background and really feels and can sit in a pocket

[SPEAKER_01]: and anticipate when that sound comes in, that helped him a lot without dance. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that was an incredible dance. [SPEAKER_00]: Like, absolutely mind-blowing. [SPEAKER_00]: I'd love to play a game where we get to know some of the fellow pros behind the scenes. [SPEAKER_00]: So if you can just shout out the person's name, the first comes to mind. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm sorry, in advance, I apologize, I'm in advance.

[SPEAKER_01]: You might throw anybody under the boss with this question. [SPEAKER_00]: Which pro is most likely to show up late to rehearsal, but still nail the routine? [SPEAKER_01]: Val, Gleb, Mark, yeah, those three definitely, uh, sometimes a late. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you on top? [SPEAKER_01]: But I'm, yeah, I have, that's my pet peeve, like being late. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I hate being late. [SPEAKER_01]: You were flawlessly on time today. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, that was two minutes late.

[SPEAKER_01]: Two minutes late. [SPEAKER_01]: And I warned you. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like ETA 302. [SPEAKER_00]: But I did get the heads up, which was the most appreciated. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Which pro would would it dance off at an after party then so if at an after party that would be Jenna Johnson she'd throw it down.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know all I know is that she would definitely do one of those like Be boy upside down break dance moves because I remember in good morning America she pulled one one time and I'm like I can see her doing that who's the clean freak in the dressing rooms Brit

[SPEAKER_01]: Gleb, I know that from tour, right, because yeah, because we have, I've never been on the boss with bread by here how spotless it is because of her, but I know how she is in our common space and theaters all the time, so I know. [SPEAKER_01]: Brid and the lab I was in a bus with him like super clean super organized. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so from tour and when you get to see it for four months in a row living in such close proximity, you know, it's for real.

[SPEAKER_00]: If all the pros had a sing for one episode, who would actually sound good? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Mark Ballas. [SPEAKER_00]: He can actually sing. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's that's an obvious one. [SPEAKER_00]: Who brings the best snacks to rehearsals? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh my god, it comes to snacks. [SPEAKER_01]: I always think Brandon, because me and Brandon, we always talk about food. [SPEAKER_01]: We argue about it very often too. [SPEAKER_00]: He is very opinionated on fast foods.

[SPEAKER_01]: He is, yes, very opinionated. [SPEAKER_01]: And we always bought heads with that. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, some one time he said, Jlato and Ashkin were the same thing. [SPEAKER_01]: Are you kidding me?

[SPEAKER_01]: Excuse me, please, but also I would say Danny and I don't know if it's about like snacks, but then he always has food near her and she's always eating like if you look at Danny sometimes you catch her, she'll be always eating was actually a funny story last season Sasha always catches her

[SPEAKER_01]: Like with his stories when he like recourse things always catches her eating and he'll be like Daniel you're eating again, you know like all the time and there was one time when he turns on his phone again to Record and he records her and she's like you see no food. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not eating [SPEAKER_01]: And as she says that, the PA comes in and he's like, then you're for deliverance here when we were dying.

[SPEAKER_01]: It was like, like, the timing could not have been more perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: Then he's always eating. [SPEAKER_01]: Even at home. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, yeah, we just mean we're both foodies. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, we love food. [SPEAKER_01]: We love to eat. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Who takes longer to get ready? [SPEAKER_00]: You were Danny? [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, Danny 100%. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you fast? [SPEAKER_00]: You're getting ready?

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, dancing to the jungle book, all the set design and the imagery was so beautiful. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you have a hand in saying, oh, maybe we could get some of this, some of that, and how does it come into play with the costume design? [SPEAKER_00]: Are you guys narrowing through what you want to wear for it? [SPEAKER_01]: So again, it's a process every week. [SPEAKER_01]: It's different.

[SPEAKER_01]: There is such things that's like different weeks have different budgets. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, some weeks you can see, you know, have a little bit less overset design. [SPEAKER_01]: It's a bit more simple. [SPEAKER_01]: Some some weeks have more.

[SPEAKER_01]: And, um, [SPEAKER_01]: you also, you know, sometimes like this one they present to you and they're like, okay, you do in the jungle book and the creative team presents to you the entire set and you're like, wow, this looks beautiful. [SPEAKER_01]: I love it and they're like, there's going to be, we're going to recreate the throne and it would be amazing if you could obviously use it. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's not just standing there, like, can you start in a throne?

[SPEAKER_01]: So we're like, great, love it. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's start in a [SPEAKER_01]: It's an entire conversation with the creative team, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Are they pulling that from Disney Parks? [SPEAKER_00]: Is that stuff that's already made? [SPEAKER_00]: I think it's different. [SPEAKER_00]: Because I just picture everything on set as in a warehouse at Disney. [SPEAKER_01]: I actually don't know specifically about that.

[SPEAKER_01]: I know that like sometimes they have [SPEAKER_01]: let's say from previous seasons and they can like restructuring, maybe redecorated, right, and some, and some things like a build from scratch. [SPEAKER_01]: I know like we have this huge, mirrored boombox. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if you've seen it, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Like, because I've been used already, like a few times, you know what it's like?

[SPEAKER_01]: If it matches the vibe, you know, they use it as I mean, it's ginormous and it's gorgeous or like a Mirrible heart or things like this, right? [SPEAKER_01]: But then some things they build from scratch just for that episode. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I actually don't know about this throne, but it was a real stone was super heavy and we didn't get a chance.

[SPEAKER_01]: Again, this is another thing I think was very interesting for the fans that they don't really know because they're behind the scenes type of stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: not sometimes. [SPEAKER_01]: Most of the time, we don't get to work with those things until the day off. [SPEAKER_01]: We have something maybe similar in the studio when we practice.

[SPEAKER_01]: But for example, the only thing we had this time, the entire week is the platform, how high it is going to be from the floor, on the which the throw and standing. [SPEAKER_01]: And we would just had a regular chair. [SPEAKER_01]: want to platform and then we had the steps that weren't exactly how it's going to be, but at least they were closed.

[SPEAKER_01]: So when you rehearse and you kind of like, okay, I'm prepping these steps, hopefully it will work because you know, like, they send you the dimensions and like, how big that chair is going to be and everything. [SPEAKER_01]: But until you actually like, they're touching that, [SPEAKER_01]: stone chair and like, okay, I need to jump on it or jump off of it or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: So you don't really get to feel it until Monday until a camera blocking.

[SPEAKER_01]: So this is the first time when you actually get to like try things and like some things that more complicated than others, you know, like thrown is maybe not so complicated, but some other things can be more complicated and you like, let's the first time I try it and that's going to be a Monday. [SPEAKER_01]: We did not see [SPEAKER_01]: our dress rehearsal on Tuesday. [SPEAKER_01]: That's the first time. [SPEAKER_01]: Of course, he wasn't dancing with us.

[SPEAKER_01]: He was just there, but still, you know, like just to even have that, you know, different energy himself standing there by that table and then asked running up to him at the end. [SPEAKER_01]: It's tiny little things that doesn't really affect our dance in this case, but so in this case, we haven't even seen him. [SPEAKER_01]: The only time we did the dance with him was two hours before the life show when we did the dress run.

[SPEAKER_00]: I love seeing in-between the dance is how supportive everybody is of each other. [SPEAKER_00]: So I was in week two, I think, and just getting to see the way that you look at Danny, which is performing, is the most beautiful thing. [SPEAKER_00]: Like honestly. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I leave the room. [SPEAKER_00]: Why? [SPEAKER_00]: For her.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, you said that last time because you don't you don't get to control how she's doing in your yeah yeah so for example during the contemporary actually did not watch it I left the bottom and I was like I'm just and also depends of where you are in the show like for example [SPEAKER_01]: When we were dancing this time, we went 9th in order, right, another interesting fact. [SPEAKER_01]: I think, you know, for the fans.

[SPEAKER_01]: Because you see us in the sky box supporting each other, right? [SPEAKER_01]: But three dances before your dance. [SPEAKER_01]: This is when you get pulled out of the sky box to get. [SPEAKER_01]: touch ups, you know, for the hand makeup to warm up review routine and preset for waiting to come out.

[SPEAKER_01]: So three dances before that with obviously, you know, like whatever that time is with the commercial breaks and packages and everything, this is how far an advance you're already basically, you're not in the sky box for sure. [SPEAKER_01]: That can be other times when you're not in the sky box for other reasons, but these three for sure.

[SPEAKER_01]: So [SPEAKER_01]: I think then it was going 6 so that time already was not in the sky box, but I had a chance backstage to watch on TV, right, but I still I was like, you know what I'm just going to walk out. [SPEAKER_01]: So for that one I walked out and then I came in and I heard the feedback from the judges, I saw the scores, I was like must have been amazing cannot wait to watch it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so and then like already watch was like, wow, that was really good.

[SPEAKER_00]: Do you ever go home and watch the show in full with all the the intro's and stuff no time no time They're just no time because you get home late next morning and ready, you know, starting started again. [SPEAKER_01]: So then if I haven't seen a single episode beginning to end, it's great. [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes I don't even like get a chance to watch our own things, you know, like maybe just like a package and a dance and that's it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Where does Danielle prefer to be in the night when she's dancing in the beginning or toward the end? [SPEAKER_01]: We had three times in a row, week two, three and four, where we were second and third, so it was going in the beginning. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, it's tough to go in the beginning, you know, like, uh, but at the same time, once you're done, you can actually enjoy the rest of the show. [SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_01]: Go on the sky box, watch everybody support everybody, you know, and just like relax versus when you day, even if you're watching to them go and perform, you know, you're kind of still have to stay focused. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to stay warm. [SPEAKER_01]: You have to stay active. [SPEAKER_01]: And specifically the dedication that we went night almost last, and it was such an emotional night, you know, we cried several times leading up to our dance.

[SPEAKER_01]: So it was a lot before we even danced, we already like experience so much emotion. [SPEAKER_01]: So the night like that. [SPEAKER_01]: definitely going early, I think, is easier because then you can just like let yourself lose, take all that emotion in rather than like crying, but like, okay, hold on, I still need to focus, I still need to perform myself, yeah. [SPEAKER_00]: After a long night, the adrenaline's pumping the shows over, where do you and Danny go?

[SPEAKER_01]: We actually, we go together, dealing with his girlfriend, Danielle with her husband, and Danielle and I, six of us, we eat together. [SPEAKER_00]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we just do little burgers in our trailers, or sometimes we go out and we go when we get like a talent and a social something like that. [SPEAKER_00]: Are you and Danny commenting where to go? [SPEAKER_00]: Being the foodies? [SPEAKER_00]: We definitely had a lot of saying it.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, a lot of it. [SPEAKER_01]: Where'd you do sushi the other day? [SPEAKER_01]: We went to Koi. [SPEAKER_01]: Is that good? [SPEAKER_01]: Really good. [SPEAKER_00]: Is that near the grove? [SPEAKER_00]: No, actually it's like five minutes away haven't been there. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, it's good. [SPEAKER_00]: I just passed a have you been to for the win burger? [SPEAKER_00]: No, are you a burger guy? [SPEAKER_00]: I am.

[SPEAKER_00]: There's a for the winburgers kind of near the on ramp to the 101, but I just realized where it is. [SPEAKER_00]: So now that's next on my list of where I have to go. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: That's one of the top burgers here. [SPEAKER_01]: Allegedly. [SPEAKER_01]: I'll find out. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Cool. [SPEAKER_01]: I definitely need to try it. [SPEAKER_00]: How did you like having a fourth judge on the panel this week? [SPEAKER_01]: Amazing.

[SPEAKER_01]: Amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: I think like when they have guest judge, it's always different and I feel like, for example, we had Michael Bublé for Michael Bublé night, you know, and it's great as his songs. [SPEAKER_01]: you get a feedback from an entertainer, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So he can give you his perspective. [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't need to know specifically his the fourth judge, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So he doesn't need specifically to know the ins and outs of the dancing itself.

[SPEAKER_01]: But as an entertainer, he can probably tell you know like whether you were there performing well enough or your energy or he liked it or didn't like it just even just as simple as that, right? [SPEAKER_01]: So, or in this case, we had literally two time champion of Dancing With The Stars.

[SPEAKER_01]: Kim have like an extensive bottom background, you know, so her comments were very precise for everybody and they were with great examples right away, you know, something that's like very applicable and even though they were for that specific dance, but I feel like they were also applicable to other dances, which is great as an example, if you get a comment about [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, let's say.

[SPEAKER_01]: possibly and it's something about specifically a specific step type of step in that dance right and you like great it's true but I'm not going to do another possibility this season so like it's a great thing you know if it's about a specific step there is really not much maybe you can do but sometimes it can be transferred to other dances and that's when it's great because for

[SPEAKER_01]: holding, I don't remember who she said it to, which is like imagine you're carrying two heavy bags while you're dancing this. [SPEAKER_01]: So you feel like your shoulders are being pulled, but you yourself stand in tall with your spine and you have great posture. [SPEAKER_01]: I can use that in any of my bone dances, or she said to us, she said, put like a pencil, or like a pen between the fingers, so you can have like a nice energy in the fingers as you dance.

[SPEAKER_01]: great. [SPEAKER_01]: That's applicable to almost any dance. [SPEAKER_01]: So some things can be very specific and they're very true, but it's sometimes just like hard to apply to something else. [SPEAKER_01]: And some things can be like applicable throughout. [SPEAKER_01]: So those are like amazing. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: You have another fourth judge coming next week. [SPEAKER_00]: Correct. [SPEAKER_00]: John, true. [SPEAKER_00]: Right.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you do anything specific to try and win him over? [SPEAKER_01]: No, because I think it's like this. [SPEAKER_01]: Imagine you have a celebrity, you have a style of dance. [SPEAKER_01]: you have a song. [SPEAKER_01]: You're trying to choreograph the best that you can, that style to that song, then you spend an entire week of making sure that your partner can do it well, go do it, feel confident doing it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like you just being able to do that job, you know, is all you have on your mind. [SPEAKER_01]: So that by Tuesday, when the show is live and you're live in the front of millions of people, you do a good job. [SPEAKER_01]: I think when in the judges, [SPEAKER_01]: Kind of like the last thing in your mind because how can you know like what they're thinking you know, of course in terms of like you understand that let's say the three main judges you know that okay in the

[SPEAKER_01]: Borm then they will probably be looking for this, this, this, this, you know, like in somebody, they would probably be looking for this, this, this, you know, like the bounce, the hip action and this and that, you know, like in charge of straight legs and sharp hands in fact, straight clean frames, smooth movement across the floor, overall. [SPEAKER_01]: So when you're practicing that that's part of you, you just like teaching and practicing that.

[SPEAKER_01]: So hopefully those things [SPEAKER_01]: all of those things on top. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, but how do you win like a fourth judge over you don't even know like what is he like what is he not like you're just trying to do your best and hope they like it. [SPEAKER_01]: Text any out 2523. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: And I also think that's that's the key. [SPEAKER_01]: The winning over the audience.

[SPEAKER_01]: Not so much the judges because the judges as four of them and [SPEAKER_01]: but it's the audience is the fans at home. [SPEAKER_01]: If you can win over them, I think that's the key to success. [SPEAKER_00]: Did you ever dance with Kim on Dancing With The Stars? [SPEAKER_00]: Was she ever part of the, when you were on it? [SPEAKER_00]: No, no. [SPEAKER_00]: She finished before you got on.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: But we worked with Kim together on a project a few years before we got on a show. [SPEAKER_01]: And it was like a two week with the like a station we show in Canada, and she's just a delight as a human being, and we had such a good time together with her, and it was a pleasure working with her.

[SPEAKER_01]: So I just like we communicated a lot, and though, I mean, two weeks was just the show itself, but the preparation and everything, you know, so we got to know her really well, and it was just like an amazing experience, and she's a great dancer and a great person. [SPEAKER_00]: I think the lower of all of you guys is so cool to like you guys work with her before the show is so crazy today. [SPEAKER_00]: Where how excited are you for the tour?

[SPEAKER_00]: Are there any stops that you're looking forward to? [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I'm very excited for the tour. [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to go in as a family. [SPEAKER_01]: This time Val and Jenna go away as a family. [SPEAKER_01]: So we have kids together, you know, we're going to have lots of play dates. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's their exciting. [SPEAKER_01]: Specifically stops.

[SPEAKER_01]: I need to check them up and actually see where we're stopping because right now with the season being here, everything's over. [SPEAKER_01]: Well, I mean, I didn't really look at the map yet. [SPEAKER_01]: I just know we have a lot of shows. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I saw Seattle on the map. [SPEAKER_01]: You like it out there? [SPEAKER_01]: I like it. [SPEAKER_01]: I, we, we have like our. [SPEAKER_01]: sushi spot over there that they would like to go to.

[SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,

[SPEAKER_01]: Boston you're great cities and I mean love them have so much to offer and I think we're gonna be in like Boston a few days this time So it's amazing, you know, we'll get to like actually enjoy it But the cold you know when you're traveling on the bus and when you basically, you know Taking a shower at the venue and then you come out in this freezing cold and it's uh it's tough [SPEAKER_00]: I know Ezra was really warming up to Nikita last season and has their bond strengthened.

[SPEAKER_01]: We really haven't seen each other like we like I we didn't keep the game one time recently and the thing is of course she remembers everybody's name because we we have like a book from from tour that tour producer's gave us which was incredible they did like this cartoonish [SPEAKER_01]: book which is an alphabet and every letter like A is for Allen and it's like him on stage just like a cartoon drawing of him in his costume from the tour. [SPEAKER_01]: That's so cool.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: It's incredible. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it's one of a kind. [SPEAKER_01]: I think I need to do like a Instagram pause and just like flip through the book.

[SPEAKER_01]: It's so good and like [SPEAKER_01]: like D's for Danny or also mom as you know her you know and it's like really cute T's for Torba's you know very very cute so like we read that book very often so she knows like everybody's names but now she can pronounce them better because before Brandon was just B and Brit was BB and now she can actually say Brit and Brandon so

[SPEAKER_01]: And when she came on set a couple of weeks ago, she was like right away so open like as if the time, like as if there was no timing between like she was just so open with everybody. [SPEAKER_01]: So it's amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: And everybody's so good with her. [SPEAKER_00]: They're hitting record numbers with voting. [SPEAKER_00]: And last week had six million viewers. [SPEAKER_00]: Do you feel that in the everyday world out and about when you're just going around?

[SPEAKER_00]: I think I feel it on social media a lot. [SPEAKER_00]: The instant feedback, the reviews, it's the drafts.

[SPEAKER_01]: People creating TikToks and reels about their reactions or them commenting their thoughts or how they would score or them having little watch parties together and like baking, [SPEAKER_01]: Cookies with like dancing with the stars, things on them to watch and eat the cookies or like they do in a whole board where they're writing who they think is going Like the amount of engagement.

[SPEAKER_01]: I can just feel how how tuned in people are how engaged they are you know like That feels like it has elevated in the past few years like with each year you get in more and more intense for sure [SPEAKER_00]: What was your first reaction when you found out Danielle was your partner? [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, first of all, like, you know, you hear rumors like, who might be on the show?

[SPEAKER_01]: Some people we don't know until the last second shortly, like some secrets are like kept so well and you would not even know like who else is on the show. [SPEAKER_01]: And but I think they were like ready some rumors. [SPEAKER_01]: And when we heard that my wife, Danny, she's like, [SPEAKER_01]: I grew up on the show and she goes the best way to it because in the 90s I wasn't here yet, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So I came in 2001 to the States and she's like in the 90s she goes like Every boy wanted to be with her. [SPEAKER_01]: It's true every girl wanted to be her. [SPEAKER_01]: It's just like this is the best way to explain to you who she is, you know [SPEAKER_01]: And I literally damaged a couple of seasons right away, and I was like, okay, this is awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: First of all, like the humor and everything, it's like the show is 30 years old and it feels like so on.

[SPEAKER_01]: Like right now, you know, like you can relate to it, the humor is amazing, everything. [SPEAKER_01]: Just like so good. [SPEAKER_01]: I wish I just like during the season I had more time because I had a chance to watch that before the all the craziness started. [SPEAKER_01]: So then I could watch all seven seasons, you know, but even that just gave me like such a good, such a good idea, such a good perspective, yeah.

[SPEAKER_00]: When did the two of you really start to click and find the groove immediately? [SPEAKER_01]: Just immediately from the, it's like one of those where... [SPEAKER_01]: Um, the bond is instant, like you don't need to get to know each other or fake it till you make it or like instant just such an easy, such an easy connection when the [SPEAKER_01]: I think that was correct, but it's still a little sad, so I don't like it. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, you guys get it.

[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so it's like she's such an awesome person, you know, thoughtful, funny, we get along really well on and off, you know, camera, like during the rehearsals, very great atmosphere,

[SPEAKER_01]: And I feel like we're in this together with the entire process, we discussed like the ideas, the creatives, her husband, Jensen is amazing like very, very like involved and he's, you know, like he's sometimes like, like for Halloween we're building for next week the creative and like he like through some ideas like, oh, that's awesome. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's use that. [SPEAKER_01]: So yeah, it's it's a great.

[SPEAKER_01]: relationship that I think we're going to have for like forever after the show. [SPEAKER_01]: It feels like one of those like a friend for life type of thing right away. [SPEAKER_00]: That's awesome because that's also you too because you are so warm and friendly and everyone you need me that feel like really comes into your family which is so cool. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you.

[SPEAKER_00]: Can we talk about a moment from a past season with Ariana when you got two seasons ago, two seasons ago, you do the dance, you get that first 10, you hear the second 10, and then you get the third 10, what was your reaction when you found out you got the perfect score?

[SPEAKER_01]: I think I remember [SPEAKER_01]: I was crying and there was a lot of like comments and tiktoks about it, and you know, it's like, whatever you do, you put your heart, it's it's not for you put it for your select. [SPEAKER_01]: And how I look at it is, as pros, if we're lucky enough, we get to do this more than once, right, like we get to be on more than one season, hopefully. [SPEAKER_01]: There is no such thing. [SPEAKER_01]: You hear this one time and that's it, right?

[SPEAKER_01]: So you have this one time to make this experience memorable that you leave it and have like no regret, no bad taste in your mouth, you know, that you like, you know what, that was an amazing experience. [SPEAKER_01]: So whatever you do, you do it really for them, right, at least this is the way I feel it.

[SPEAKER_01]: So, [SPEAKER_01]: whenever you hear good scores or bad scores, you know, thinking about yourself, you're thinking, you know, like you're really thinking about just a lab and for me, I think it was just like the moment where I did feel that Ariana was doing so well the entire season and the way moments were like, [SPEAKER_01]: I think she already like she definitely deserves it, you know, and like we still wouldn't get it, you know, like we got one tan in this.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, and then at that moment, like everything aligned, it was, it was the dance that that was my favorite dance from that season, nothing to do with the perfect score is where it was just like, I love the song, I love the, [SPEAKER_01]: It was so many musical accents. [SPEAKER_01]: I left choreographing it. [SPEAKER_01]: I loved our outfits. [SPEAKER_01]: I love how it turned out on the live show.

[SPEAKER_01]: Everything just like a line perfectly and felt perfectly into place. [SPEAKER_01]: So I have a very good memory of that dance. [SPEAKER_01]: And at the same time, then when [SPEAKER_01]: That feeling aligns with the score and I think that's why we were both crying because we're just like, you know, it was perfect. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, it was just it was just a perfect perfect perfect perfect perfect week perfect scenario.

[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, when you were going into it and choreographing it did it feel different.

[SPEAKER_01]: meaning what like did it feel like oh this is something really really special we have the perfect selling perfect ads perfect style the perfect you you never know until it actually comes together and like again it's a process you start on Wednesday you start from scratch is it really just learning the steps right and you like I don't know how this is going to turn out [SPEAKER_01]: and with each day it's getting a little better and then hopefully by to use day you're ready.

[SPEAKER_01]: But while choreographing I was like, it is, it did feel very, very, it was a fox truck, but it had like these some little things that were different because of the music and it was able to [SPEAKER_01]: put those little things in and I was excited about it. [SPEAKER_01]: I was excited. [SPEAKER_01]: I was like, okay, put in a little twist and a little spice in this Fox trust.

[SPEAKER_01]: So like it was still classic Fox trust, but with little things edited because there was little whistle sounds and a little like water droplets sounds that I was like, okay, those we can really play with. [SPEAKER_01]: So it was cool. [SPEAKER_00]: I don't want to say stressful because I don't think that's the word, but which day out of the week is the most? [SPEAKER_01]: Is it stressful? [SPEAKER_01]: It's stressful. [SPEAKER_01]: The whole the whole season is stressful.

[SPEAKER_00]: There is no such thing as no stress But would it be like Wednesday when you have to start teaching it again or is it showday or is it the day before showday? [SPEAKER_01]: I think every every day brings its own type of stress like what you just said like Wednesday when you just start and you you basically you come in with a prepped courier that you prepared Before the show before the life shown to you is they you know you already coming in Wednesday into rehearsing like okay

[SPEAKER_01]: And you just hope that whatever you thought is going to look good on your celebs will actually look good so that's the number one and like the things that you like things like okay. [SPEAKER_01]: not that they should be able to do everything from scratch, of course not, because, you know, they learn from scratch.

[SPEAKER_01]: But as you try it, you're like, okay, this feels like it's going somewhere, you know, okay, this feels like with a little bit of work, we can get it by Saturday Sunday, you know, like, for example, this week, we are doing lifts for the first time, right? [SPEAKER_01]: And like, I'm coming in with lift ideas. [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, we tried it on the first day. [SPEAKER_01]: I just needed to see like, is this even something we can do? [SPEAKER_01]: And I was like, we did it.

[SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, okay, I think we can. [SPEAKER_01]: We have time, we have a whole week, so we're practicing them every day and every day it's getting better. [SPEAKER_01]: So like you can write a week kind of tell like, oh, this is just not going anywhere. [SPEAKER_01]: Let's replace it. [SPEAKER_01]: And this time like, you know what I mean?

[SPEAKER_01]: It's like it's it's sometimes you feel something just like not going to work from scratch and some things you like it has a potential. [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, some things work from scratch right away and some things is like it's a potential. [SPEAKER_01]: It's worth putting all the effort and time into to make it work. [SPEAKER_00]: Showing Tellers when you trade the dances with other pros and celebs.

[SPEAKER_00]: Is there anyone that you do show and tell with every time you're in the rehearsal studio? [SPEAKER_00]: We haven't done show and tell and I don't know last like three weeks probably. [SPEAKER_00]: How come? [SPEAKER_01]: I don't think at this point anybody's doing them just because of how crazy the schedules are, you know, because when you start and you have three weeks leading up to the premiere,

[SPEAKER_01]: You kind of like by week two, hopefully you got your dance down, and then you still have a week to perfect it You know, and you like oh We have a fall rehearsal Let's take an hour and go in to a separate room and do show and tell and everything, right and then now when we the dances are getting longer

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, like we started with like a 55 second dance and I was just really like mid in 20 at this point, you know, it's like it's a whole third of a dance longer, you know, and now that they danced a little bit the choreography is getting more intense and everything so sometimes you just barely have any time to like those four hours you treat every minute is like okay, I need to use up this minute because then.

[SPEAKER_01]: and then also like you might feel ready and then maybe somebody else is like hey guys we're not ready yet we might be able to do show and tell tomorrow but today we're not ready yet so and then you just want to also be respectful to everybody because you don't want to take up their time so in the beginning it's a little bit easier and right now as it gets crazier I just don't think we we all in the same boat where we like oh Saturday and we'll have just like this whole hour where we can go and just do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But usually when we did it, we did it with whoever is in the studio at that time and we did it a couple of times with Baron and Brett with Andy and Emma with Hillary and Glenwood did it with Alex and Val who else they would do it with. [SPEAKER_01]: I think this might be it, but like it's whoever is available, whoever is in the studio that time and they're like down to do it.

[SPEAKER_01]: But recently I didn't even like go and ask and I nobody came in and asked us because I honestly haven't heard or seen anybody do it in the past couple of weeks. [SPEAKER_01]: And now leading up into the like week seven eight.

[SPEAKER_01]: We're getting more dances, you know, we'll have like, you know, how usually we start getting like team dances or dances or whatever, like we'll see what it's going to be the season, but we're starting to get more things throwing at us so instead of just learning one style. [SPEAKER_01]: which is now like a minute and a half long, you also gonna be learning and now the style to do a dance off or a team dance.

[SPEAKER_01]: And so the amount of time stays the same that we have to rehearse, but it gets more jammed packed. [SPEAKER_01]: So there is just no time left for those things. [SPEAKER_00]: You choreographed a couple of the bumper's last season, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, I choreographed yes couple of bumpers and day and night choreographed the opening for the 500th episode. [SPEAKER_00]: Right. [SPEAKER_00]: So does that just happen randomly?

[SPEAKER_00]: And they're like, hey, do you want to choreograph this? [SPEAKER_00]: And you're like, yeah, I have time to make that happen. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. [SPEAKER_01]: So the producers reach out, you know, and they like, we would like for you to choreograph next week's bumper for this episode for this theme or whatever. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow. [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: It's different.

[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know, like, how exactly how it goes, and we got a notification, me and Danny last season. [SPEAKER_01]: About the five-hundredth episode, like Wayne Advance, because, you know, like, that was a big one, and a lot of people were involved, and a lot of things, you know, a lot of moving pieces. [SPEAKER_01]: So we knew quite a while in advance. [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, it's just different every year.

[SPEAKER_01]: I think maybe if you get eliminated sooner, you know, you obviously now have more time in your hand. [SPEAKER_01]: So you're getting your those opportunities, they they they they use up, you know, like your expertise, your ability to choreograph more because they know, like, okay, now you have more time in your hand, let's use you for this. [SPEAKER_00]: How did you like choreographing the 500 episode having all that talent that you could use?

[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, the 500 episode, first of all, it was a huge honor. [SPEAKER_01]: You know, the fact that they asked us was like, this is a huge honor. [SPEAKER_01]: And we had all the pros, the entire troop, Derek and Julianne, Sharna, it was just like, it was amazing. [SPEAKER_01]: It was a big number, it was a big production. [SPEAKER_01]: And [SPEAKER_01]: It was stressful leading up to it because again, then he was still in a competition.

[SPEAKER_01]: We didn't know if the song is going to clear until the literally last moment. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't know which version of the song exactly we're going to have because we're trying to get like the core cell version of crazy in love makes with their original, you know, so so that because they're to have like a little bit more of a dynamic to the song and [SPEAKER_01]: Again, IPs and everything, so like clearing the tracks, it's a lot of moving pieces.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we don't really know, we started, we knew that we're going to do it. [SPEAKER_01]: Wayne events, what we didn't really have until almost the last moment was actually what we danced into. [SPEAKER_01]: So we ended up choreographing very late in the game. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's why it was a very stressful. [SPEAKER_01]: But the whole experience was actually very, very smooth, very good.

[SPEAKER_01]: All the pros were like so respectful and really put like the heart into this dance. [SPEAKER_01]: So it felt amazing and have like a good, [SPEAKER_01]: good feeling, good memories about it, both of how the product ended up being, but also the entire thing leading up to it. [SPEAKER_01]: It was just like stressful waiting for that clearance for a second and with structure and so on a few hundred times, but other than that, everything else was great.

[SPEAKER_00]: This is the 28th year as well now, right? [SPEAKER_00]: Yes. [SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's exciting. [SPEAKER_00]: And I assume though, you're not going to tell me anyway. [SPEAKER_00]: Anyways, when you're on the chopping block of the eliminations, [SPEAKER_00]: What are you thinking when you're just waiting for them to say whoever's name? [SPEAKER_00]: What are you what's going through your head?

[SPEAKER_01]: You know how before like few seasons before ago, they had like a proper bottom two. [SPEAKER_01]: Like, while I was in the bottom two were like the actual bottom two and now it's random. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, and they would like be like, okay, this is the bottom two, but actually you're going home or this is the bottom two and the judge is safe, right? [SPEAKER_01]: They were thinking like this.

[SPEAKER_01]: Now it's [SPEAKER_01]: you are standing there, it's not necessarily you in a bottom three before they're announced. [SPEAKER_01]: So because it's not necessarily bottom three, you don't really have a different feeling, because before it was like that, you know, bottom two, you're like, oh, wow, we're like on a brink of.

[SPEAKER_01]: Getting out so like next week like like you feel like you like oh, it's it was a close call So next week is stressful here because it's not a or the real bottom three it feels a little different The only difference is if you get cold in the beginning

[SPEAKER_01]: you don't have to survive that entire stress for like that extra minute or two whatever it is until your name is being called if you being called in the bottom three that's again just adding extra stress for like another two three minutes to your life so for me it's like they really like just [SPEAKER_01]: killing us over the, you know, you lose like a year per second or something.

[SPEAKER_01]: So so the difference now is like if you get cold in the beginning, you just like you don't have to to be in that stress for too long. [SPEAKER_01]: So that's the biggest relief. [SPEAKER_01]: And then if you then till the bottom three, you're standing there, you're like, okay, come on, come on, say it already, say it already in last time when they said nobody's eliminated.

[SPEAKER_01]: my brain didn't process it fast enough and the confederate came out and for me was like you know it's like this red light and all of this and then boom confederate and i'm like you know like it's it was like my brain didn't understand what happened because like why was celebrating the elimination you know and then i'm like oh nobody like there was like my brain took a second when i saw the confederate line because they literally said no one's

[SPEAKER_01]: I process confetti faster than a process of the words. [SPEAKER_00]: So funny. [SPEAKER_00]: Speaking of past seasons, if they brought back a stipulation from a past season, what would you want it to be? [SPEAKER_00]: They've had trios, switchups where you had different pros and celebs. [SPEAKER_00]: Is there anything that you really enjoyed? [SPEAKER_01]: I wasn't there for any of those, I wasn't there for the trio's and I wasn't there for the switch up.

[SPEAKER_01]: I heard from many people that they did not like the switch up, that it was a very weird experience. [SPEAKER_01]: So I trust my peers and I'll be like, okay, I guess let's let's not do it. [SPEAKER_01]: Trios, I don't know, could be interesting. [SPEAKER_01]: I love team dances and I mean, I'm assuming we're going to have one this year because I feel like they've had it all the time and just like a great thing.

[SPEAKER_01]: As long as we just have that, I'm happy because team dances is like it's its own thing like I'm not crazy about like all the dancers and the you know like all of those things when you like two people dance next to each other Those are okay. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not like super excited about those but the team dance that's cool. [SPEAKER_01]: That's like a very stressful week. [SPEAKER_01]: Don't get me wrong.

[SPEAKER_01]: Very stressful week Because again like [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know how it's going to be this year, but prior we had this, we'll do the show. [SPEAKER_01]: After the show, we were like one, one year, we were joined out of the hat who's going to be in which team. [SPEAKER_01]: So we tape that entire process for the next week's package. [SPEAKER_01]: So we're staying after the show and we're joined out of the hat with figuring out the teams.

[SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: Then once you understand which team you on each team is being given them music. [SPEAKER_01]: Okay. [SPEAKER_01]: And then that, yes, specifically, it was my first season. [SPEAKER_01]: I was dancing with Kate Flannery. [SPEAKER_01]: We went to the studio right after the show, after we taped it. [SPEAKER_01]: So if the show finished at seven, we taped it.

[SPEAKER_01]: We got to the studio at like 9 p.m. And we were then, and you can stay there as long as you want while you're doing the choreo. [SPEAKER_01]: So if you want to stay then till 3 a.m., go for it. [SPEAKER_01]: So we were choreographing it, then that night. [SPEAKER_01]: No, no, the entire team. [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, oh my god. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so the entire team just goes there.

[SPEAKER_01]: They're like, okay You just got your music, so you just drew you know who's in your team the four four couples in your team This is your song We'll literally like as we're driving from set to the studio like all the pros They listen into the song and their car so once we get there We will start sharing like ideas and then putting the dance together and like

[SPEAKER_01]: The faster you put the dance together, the sooner you're going to go to sleep because next morning you're going to wake up and you're going to start the rehearsals and that's going to be the team rehearsals when you're actually going to teach the celebs like their steps and stuff. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. [SPEAKER_01]: So I don't know how it's going to be this year, but that year it was tough like you get basically no sleep right after the show.

[SPEAKER_01]: You know, you tired after a long day of show and are you like have to come up and you know work as a unit and be like in sync and respectful and you know like everybody's tired but you need to like make sure you're a team but the experience is amazing it's so like [SPEAKER_01]: It's truly bonding between the celebs, especially, you know, like, you were just competing against each other and now you're a team competing against someone else.

[SPEAKER_01]: So you have to like, okay, we're together in this, you know, when we had the team with Ariana, Jason, Allison and Barry, right? [SPEAKER_01]: Allison was the team captain, you know, and she brought these Nerable like cops to drink out of and everything, you know, to like to deny the team.

[SPEAKER_01]: So we'll it was it was just such a good experience We all had such a good time and then we also like within our team dance with its switchups So we got to dance with each other a little bit. [SPEAKER_01]: It was it was cool.

[SPEAKER_00]: Even at a young age was dance something that You realize really brings people together, especially when you have a partner Because the camaraderie that you guys all have is so [SPEAKER_01]: special I grew up in a competitive world right so for us like we have I wasn't part of like any team group dances those styles that doesn't exist over there in the bottom world we just have a couple each have you and you dance partner competing against others right so

[SPEAKER_01]: What you learn though is that you know you go and you compete every week and one week you win and another week you lose and what you learn is you learn respect you learn how to lose and I remember my dad saying he said [SPEAKER_01]: Winning is easy. [SPEAKER_01]: You win, if you're good, you know, you would go, he goes, it's when you lose.

[SPEAKER_01]: That's truly when you like, when you grow and you understand that like now go and everybody who beats you, you know, go and congratulate them, you know, shake their hand, say congratulations, you know, like this is, this is truly the sportsmanship, right? [SPEAKER_01]: My dad was like very, very much on top of that that like I do that.

[SPEAKER_01]: And for me, I think it's even though we competing against each other, it was that respect from the young age, you know, that you have to have for each other, that kind of like builds you as a person, you know, so I think it's not necessarily like we were like we were a team all together. [SPEAKER_01]: We didn't I didn't have that in my [SPEAKER_01]: competitive world, but the sportsmanship of the sportsmanship is that's that's what it taught me. [SPEAKER_00]: It's Saturday.

[SPEAKER_00]: Are you confident for next week this week? [SPEAKER_01]: I'm super excited about it. [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, I'm like the the conference on the show. [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't exist because because we're talking about a live show with a brand new dance every week. [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know if there [SPEAKER_01]: And if they are they're lying. [SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited. [SPEAKER_01]: They're like different weeks.

[SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes you'll go in and you might be like less excited because of the style or whatever or something this one I'm super excited about you're gonna crush it. [SPEAKER_00]: I'm so excited. [SPEAKER_00]: Thank you. [SPEAKER_01]: Text any L21523. [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, please. [SPEAKER_00]: All right. [SPEAKER_00]: See you. [SPEAKER_01]: That was so good
