Episode description
On the Tuesday night show, Joe begins by congratulating the UConn Huskies on winning the National Championship on Monday night. They got a scare by San Diego State, but pulled away to a 17-point win. Then Joe replayed the video that he first showed on last Thursday’s show where Anthony Rendon had his incident with an Oakland A’s fan. MLB made their decision to suspend him for 5 games, but was quickly appealed and reduced to 4. Joe mentioned that the setup of the stadium is quirky and may have led to the situation. But Rendon still has to know better. Joe couldn’t remember the last time this happened in baseball, but explained that with unionized labor, there is past precedence that probably led to the 5 games, and then reduced to four. Joe then (kinda) got away from sports with the next he saw that Drexel University will not be able to have their graduation at Citizens Bank Park because the Phillies have Dead & Company and Morgan Wallen shows that weekend. After help with the Phillies, Drexel couldn’t get an outdoor graduation site like they had the last few years. Joe thinks though having seven or eight graduation ceremonies for several colleges within the university, indoor ceremonies are the way to go, with his high school experience of an outdoor graduation. Then ThePenguinAZ & PlayActionReal join me. We talk about the show I did last night, and I told PAR that I consider myself an amateur, but I think I made some good points on there, including a longshot that I like in one of the turf races. PAZ gives me crap about the Phillies (hey, we finally won one!) and talk about the worst job in sports. Joe went to Parx Racing on his first official day of vacation on Monday, and standing in the paddock, he got the idea, as the shit shoveler has to be the worst job in sports. Maybe I shouldn’t have swung for the fences, as everyone agreed. We continued to talk about different things like our different shows. I mentioned that this is also going to be an audio podcast, so Joe encourages everyone to join him Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:15 pm ET.
