Episode description

As we wrap up Negro Appreciation Month, we continue to celebrate elements of black culture that we hold near and dear to us. For avid listeners and long-time puzzle pieces, you’ve heard the term, “That’s a strong black name.” Names and child naming hold so much weight in the black community, whether it is for connection to ancestors, representation, creativity, or a fond memory.

On this episode of the Jigsaw, Josh & Bryan discuss the importance of black names in the community, stereotypes, stigmas, and their naming processes. Find out the strong black name history of Josh and Bryan’s respective family trees. Also, Bryan had a major life update that is typically unlike Bryan.
