When Fall Meets Winter this is commentary from James Brown.
¶ The Transition of Seasons
Winter and fall blur together here in Rochester, New York. The winds of winter are already rattling our trees, but they're swirling hardened orange, brown and yellow piles of leaves about the concrete. Just yesterday I stepped outside and I couldn't tell if I needed a scarf or sunglasses. The crisp air had that bite. The sun was still hanging on.
¶ In Between Transitions
It got me thinking about how transitions are rarely clear cut. Much like the seasons, our lives don't move, and neat, orderly phases we often find ourselves in between. Not quite here, not quite there, but somewhere. Maybe you're in between jobs, relationships, or just figuring things out. And if you are, that's okay. Nature doesn't rush, so why should we? The leaves take their time changing colors, and even when they're on the ground, they dance about for a round before settling.
There's a certain beauty in that chaos, don't you think? In the overlap where fall meets winter.
¶ Embracing the In-Between Moments
So here's my question. How do you embrace the in between moments in your life? Do you rush through them?
¶ Reflections on Nature
