Episode description

At the core of the word "Chanukah" is the Hebrew word for education: "chinuch". To celebrate, Alan and Mike brought the Director of Makom, Abi Dauber Sterne, into the recording studio. They reflected on what they do. What is Makom? Why has Israel education become more centrally important than ever? What are the principles and methods that Makom believes in? What Israel knowledge do today's young Jews want? What are our challenges for the future? Join us!

Abi Dauber Sterne comes to Makom after 7 years as the VP for Jewish Education at Hillel International. Previous positions have included Director of the Mandel Jerusalem Fellows, founding Director of Limmud NY, and planning executive at UJA-Federation of NY. Abi has a passion for creating frameworks and programs to strengthen pluralistic Jewish life around the world. She lives with her husband and four children in Jerusalem.

This episode was recorded by the amazing Ben Wallick Studios. Ben is the best!
