Episode description

Welcome to The Interior Design Podcast—a UK-based educational journey through the world of interior design!

I'm Hayley Roy, an Interior Designer, Entrepreneur, and proud owner of Harp Design. Joining me as my co-host is Cheryl Sutton, an Interior and Architectural Designer, and the creative force behind Rebels Design.

Cheryl and I have been collaborating for six years, weaving together our expertise and friendship to bring you an authentic podcast experience. Expect some colorful language (yes, we might drop a few F-bombs) because we're passionate and unapologetically opinionated about our craft. Oh, and we also have a penchant for innuendos!

Each episode is structured into three exciting sections:

  1. Catch-Up: We kick things off by sharing highlights from our week and giving you a sneak peek into the projects we're currently working on.
  2. Education: Get ready to learn as we invite industry experts to discuss all things interior design, aiming to provide you with valuable insights and knowledge.
  3. Discussion Time: In this segment, Cheryl and I dive deeper into the topic covered in the Education section, offering our perspectives, thoughts, and maybe even a few debates!

Our goal is to deliver a podcast that's not only fun but also packed with practical and informative content to help you navigate the world of interior design like a pro.

Hi there and welcome to the trailer for the Interior Design podcast. Very exciting! My name is Hayley Roy and I'm an Interior Designer, entrepreneur and owner of Harp Design and my co-host is Cheryl Sutton who is an Interior and Architectural Designer, owner of Rebels Design and also known as a bit of a jack-of-all-trades. She told me to say that bit. Yeah it's true. Cheryl and I have been working together on and off for six years and we are also good friends

only when she replies to my text messages. Sorry about that, I'm sorry. And jokes aside, Cheryl is one of my very few true friends who I've had in business. So Hayley approached me with this awesome idea to create an educational podcast around Interior Design and obviously I jumped at the chance. I think such a great idea because there's just nothing out there like it.

So we want to keep this podcast as real as possible. We are likely to throw in maybe a few F-bombs because we're really passionate and very opinionated about what we do and what this podcast represents. We also love a good innuendo. We love an innuendo. So watch out for those, there's gonna be some good ones coming up. Each podcast is going to have three sections. Section one will be a quick catch-up. How's our week been? What projects we're working on at the moment?

Section two is education. We bring in a guest or we teach you something that we know for what it's worth. And we talk about anything Interior Design related with the aim to educate you. Section three is a discussion about the education. Cheryl and I at this point will delve into a discussion around the topic that we've been talking about or we've been learning about or the subject that the

guest speaker has presented. What we're doing is we're trying to create something which is fun and also jam-packed with useful information that you can take away. Whether you're an Interior Designer or whether you are doing something at home. Sorry, I'm waiting for you to say or you're a budding designer. I'm not saying budding. Whether you're an aspiring Interior Designer. Whether you're an actual Interior Designer or whether you're just at home. We want to

teach you something. So I think we just want this to be accessible to everyone. Like that anyone can take on board what's been spoken about and kind of run with that. And I think we just want it to be really real. Like we want to be honest. We're not going to be kind of scripted. We're going to be very off the cuff on a lot of things and we're just going to tell you how it is in our world. So yeah, looking forward to it.
