Ilana Redstone is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Professor Redstone obtained her BA at the University of New Hampshire and her Ph.D. in Demography and Sociology from the University of Pennsylvania. She has been at the University of Illinois since 2005. She teaches a highly popular class called "Sociology of Political Polarization: Bigots and Snowflakes" and is the author of the new book Unassailable Ideas: How Unwritten Rules and Social Media Shape Discourse in American Higher Education.
